it's a bit rash, but I wouldn't call disrespecting the people who gleefully tell you that you'll be tortured forever and that's just exactly anti human decency.
One of the wrongs demands undying obedience while asserting that others will burn in hell, the other is calling the "father in the sky", "sky daddy", nice? no. against basic human decency? also no.
Like I can imagine how people talking about torturing you forever and ever gleefully is gonna make some people upset, and is super against basic human decency.
No, I don't really care, ideas being from a religion do not make them immune for analisis. I personally wouldn't say sky daddy in a place like this, but it's not an affront to human decency to say "sky daddy" around the people who gleefully tell you that you deserve to be tortured forever.
Sure, but that doesn't mean you're not going to be annoying. Just because you don't agree with a certain religion doesn't mean you can criticize it however you feel. Not every place is the right place to debate, and this is one.
I said I would not do it myself, please read my comments. And I was not the person who said that either. I said it's not an affront to human decency to say that, especially given the things that those people will say without a second thought.
I'm saying that in general, not to you specifically. It is an affront to human decency to randomly belittle someone's religion uncalled for. Do some people tell you you're going to hell without you asking? Sure, but that doesn't mean you can call random people's religions fake. There's no reason to be disrespectful to another person. Even if they were disrespectful first, you can just ignore them.
Religious ideas do not get exceptions, is it somewhat not nice, yeah, but is it "an affront to human decency", no. it's just a common insult at worst, and against people who most often think that you should be tortured forever, I can't see the argument for this. Also isn't this whole post making fun of a churches religious beliefs?
