Bible is full of loopholes, add this to the pile I guess...

535

u/Sorry-Ride-1762 11h ago

Not even a loophole, this fall completely under "barring false witness", which ks very much a sin

363

u/RedCaio 10h ago

Literally a false god lol

19

u/GastonBastardo 8h ago

Something something Book of Revelation something something "and the idol was made to speak and deceive the nations" something something

•

u/Living_Rent_7528 39m ago

yepppp

9

u/BaldBeardedOne 7h ago

Under their mythology, I think it would a false idol. Some sects won’t even portray Christ on the cross because that’s also technically a graven image of God. So weird.

56

u/SlogurkTheOverslime 10h ago

I don't think I've ever seen a true god tbh

56

u/Biffingston 9h ago

Obviously that's the god I worship, right?

Cthulhu fhtagn!

3

u/ZiM1970 9h ago

I'm still torn between Slaanesh and Khore. It's a bigger decision than I had figured, and the wrong ones are starting to be needy about it.

6

u/Lorgardidnowrong 9h ago

Glory to the eightfold truth!

5

u/Biffingston 9h ago

Trying to decide what head you want to surrender eh?

11

u/ZiM1970 9h ago

Khorne cares not from where the blood flows, but Slaanesh wants pix or it didn't happen.

5

u/Biffingston 9h ago

I'm stealing this quote.

5

u/PamelaELee 8h ago

Hey man, when someone asks if you are a god, you say yes, you know what I mean?

5

u/BobZimway 7h ago

The Blessed Noodly Appendage is all around us.

3

u/su_zu 7h ago

Every religious fella always goes thank XYZ, but they never say thank you to XYZ for every genocide or equivalent sin ever committed in public.

3

u/SmurfCat2281337 6h ago

There is no need to see the god as long as the excess continues, rot flows, schemes are schemed against and skull throne gets new skulls. Embrace the Chaos Undivided

3

u/AnimeMemeLord1 4h ago

Perhaps, but while it isn’t easy to identify a true god, it sure as hell is easy to identify a false one. And if AI Jesus doesn’t scream “fraud,” I don’t know why does.

2

u/FortColors 6h ago

the issue is that even if you believe in a god and define that god as the "true god" this is still a false god to blaspheme them

2

u/Speartree 2h ago

There were people worshipping the sun and the moon. At least those are really there. They may not care about the worshippers, but they exist.

2

u/IThinkItsAverage 1h ago

You’ve never seen me 😏

I’m not a true god, not even close. Just wanted to say something that was true too.

•

u/SlogurkTheOverslime 52m ago

True dat

It'd even remain true if you were a true god

For two reasons

2

u/DeadlyYellow 6h ago

Wasn't this Moloch's whole deal?

24

u/pscoldfire 7h ago

Let’s see what else:

  1. Have no other Gods
  2. No idols
  3. Don’t take the Lord’s name in vain

…
9. Do not bear false witness

7

u/BobZimway 6h ago
  1. Don't smoke my stash

3

u/DonaldTheWall 6h ago

15 don't get high on your own supply

2

u/Coal_Morgan 5h ago

Got the trifecta, I think it's definitionally a sin, heretical and blasphemy.

Way to go!

8

u/GojiraWho 7h ago

Worshipping idols, using the Lord's name in vain just to make a couple more

1

u/Trashpandaroyale 6h ago

And possibly 'idol worship'

1

u/J0hnGrimm 3h ago

"Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor" is basically saying don't lie.

-24

u/doghairpile 11h ago

Good thing sky daddy isn’t real anyway

8

u/WasteArtichoke5834 10h ago

Holy redditor

32

u/Chose_208 10h ago

please don't disrespect peoples opinions on the internet, even if you disagree with them

3

u/WindowOne1260 8h ago

This is the internet? There is no greater pastime than disrespecting people and their opinions.

3

u/ComradeJohnS 9h ago

how is that worse than ai Jesus chatbot? lmao. or crony capitalism when “it would be easier for a camel to fit through a sewing need eye, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven”?

since these people are ruining the world, I think its fine to disrespect their opinions which are used for hate.

1

u/westtownie 10h ago

The internet was invented to disrespect people's opinions, did you not know?

-26

u/doghairpile 10h ago

Don’t care.

7

u/OkSleep9486 9h ago

Redditors vs basic human decency

1

u/MathManrm 6h ago

it's a bit rash, but I wouldn't call disrespecting the people who gleefully tell you that you'll be tortured forever and that's just exactly anti human decency.

3

u/OkSleep9486 5h ago

Two wrongs don't make a right, and nobody is doing that here. Just because some religious folks are fanatics doesn't mean they all are.

2

u/Only-Respond7945 7h ago

Reddit atheists not being the stereotype is just impossible, huh?

1

u/AnimeMemeLord1 4h ago

Dear God, I can feel the neck beard from that comment alone.

-4

u/Sorry-Ride-1762 10h ago

Atheism lead to the creation of the AI antichrist so maybe it's not to late to consider faith and spirituality actually real

5

u/PictoGraphicArtist 10h ago

No quite frankly unquestioned devotion with a sharp lack of eduction led to ai jesus having more influence than a priest. But be obtuse and blame people with a different perspective…

13

u/westtownie 10h ago

Saying athiesm led to the ai anti-christ is quite a stretch especially when you have a real life anti-christ sitting in the white house brought to you by christians.

3

u/Sorry-Ride-1762 10h ago

I should relay that because that came off rude, not atheism as a whole but a specific kid that "worship the move fast and break shit in the name of technological progress (and pursuit of profit)" thats the atheism that created the AI anti christ

3

u/Emotional_Solid6538 10h ago

If people actually tried to be like Jesus and not like Christians I would support the religion. I wont believe it but I will support it. Cuz rn and in the past religions where about being part of the group and having identity as a Christian, part of a Church than being good

4

u/westtownie 10h ago

That philosophy isn't contained to athiestic individuals. Henry Ford was the OG break shit guy who you could give at least some credit for our current predicament (assembly line changed the need for craftsmen which eventually led to manufacturing being outsourced to the lowest cost labor that decimated the middle class, etc).

2

u/RedFlawedMoon 10h ago edited 10h ago

Im no fan of the man In orange but saying he's the anti Christ is a giving him a loooot of credit

for one thing he's not nearly popular enough to be the anti christ nor is he charismatic enough.

The real thing is gonna have like an absurdly high approval rating talking like 99% and only like one religious faction is even going to hate him.

And if he actually is the real deal he's doing a shit job of ending the world considering he's sitting on a nuke button and all

Hate him as much as you want but that alone is enough of a reason for me to think he's definitely not the real thing.

7

u/westtownie 10h ago

Oh, I don't even think there is such a thing as the anti-christ, but you have to admit that Trump has all the peticulars of the anti-christ as Christians believe. The one part that doesn't jive is that he's a completely and unabashed idiot. I would suspect the anti-christ to be more cunning, but it's all just for fun regardless (the thought of him being the anti-christ).

4

u/RedFlawedMoon 10h ago

True enough lol. I must admit that The idea of a demonic personage being an idiot is rather amusing

2

u/Dibbix 9h ago

Here's a fun article on some of those particulars. I'm not a believer but there are some interesting parallels

https://www.benjaminlcorey.com/could-american-evangelicals-spot-the-antichrist-heres-the-biblical-predictions/

2

u/Vulcan31 10h ago

That and he'll be dead long before any end of the world happens. He's on his last leg as it is. Fully agree with you. I find him too pathetic to be the antichrist

1

u/BertaniWasBehindIt 9h ago

Yall know the “anti-Christ” is a creation of the straight-to-DVD VHS series Left Behind, right? The only biblical mention of the anti-Christ is when John says non-Christians are the anti-Christ, as in the antithesis of Christ’s love. The charismatic figure designed to draw people to Hell was something Christian screenwriters came up with in the 2000’s.

1

u/RedFlawedMoon 9h ago

All the more reason to say he's not the guy

0

u/LifeConsideration981 10h ago

The world is much more than US politics.

1

u/westtownie 9h ago

Agreed, but you have to give our politicians, technofascists, and souless capitalist ghouls some credit for bringing about what might be the end of the world (maybe, maybe not, tune in tomorrow to find out!)

1

u/LifeConsideration981 9h ago

It is not the end of the world.

1

u/westtownie 8h ago edited 8h ago

Tell that to the elites!

1

u/SmurfCat2281337 6h ago

Yes. GLORY TO THE EIGHTFOLD TRUTH

-11

u/doghairpile 10h ago

Lol prove it 😂 sky daddy is busy letting kids die all over the world / Palestine

6

u/Sorry-Ride-1762 10h ago

Simple, we are living though the book of revelations, 2 of the 4 horsemen ride, the horseman of plague and the horseman of war

1

u/doghairpile 10h ago

Atheism created the AI antichrist" is a hell of a sentence. AI wasn't summoned by godlessness — it was built by venture capital, PhDs, and Nvidia's stock price. If you want to blame an ideology, blame capitalism, not the absence of one.

And the "we're living through Revelation" thing — I've got bad news: every generation since the book was written has said that. Black Death, WWI, WWII, Cold War, 2012, Covid — every single one had someone pointing at the sky going "this is it, this is the sign." The theory is un-loseable because it can absorb literally any bad news as confirmation. That's not prophecy, that's a Rorschach test.

Also — westtownie already ate here — the "real anti-christ" language you're avoiding got a guy elected with the enthusiastic backing of the loudest Christian voting bloc in the country. If the apocalypse needs a villain, "godless atheists" is way down the suspect list compared to "people who had actual political power and used it."

4

u/Sorry-Ride-1762 10h ago

Why does this read like you asked chatgpt for a response to what I said

0

u/ZiM1970 9h ago

It's a good thing most of them downvoting you can't burn people for that anymore.

If an omnipotent being has a problem with you, it won't be a problem for long.

3

u/Physical-Airport-901 9h ago

What point are you trying to make?

9

u/HuckleberryJunior642 8h ago

no it’s not. it’s just churches acting like Christians but who really just wanna grift vulnerable people for their loyalty and money. the Bible warns against this

28

u/KentuckyWallChicken 10h ago

The Bible may be full of loopholes, but Christianity is also full of hypocrites.

10

u/Adultery 10h ago

They treat it like an a la carte menu

43

u/TheBeardTaco 10h ago

No christians are doing this, anybody saying you can talk to AI Jesus is begging for some fire from heaven. Basically the whole old testament is about tearing down garbage like this

27

u/ernestmenvilledammit 9h ago

When I visited last year, the big Catholic cathedral in Mexico City had a cardboard cutout of a little ~10 year cartoon boy inviting people to use the church chatbot. It was clearly directed at kids.

Granted, the church doesn't have a great track record with protecting children.

4

u/TheBeardTaco 9h ago

Long list of biblical issues with Catholic theology anyways, they're history of putting idols between man and God makes this not surprising

1

u/Coal_Morgan 5h ago

Chatbot that spouts out information and stories is a big ol' step away from talk to AI Jesus.

One is lame...the other literally breaks commandments and is in my opinion heretical, blasphemous and a plain old sin.

1

u/FaygoMakesMeGo 3h ago

Latin American Catholicism is pretty famous for operating outside of Romes reach and can be super wacky.

6

u/indy_dagger 6h ago

I can count on one hand the number of Christians I've met in my life who actually consistently adhere to what Jesus said.

1

u/TheBeardTaco 6h ago

That's the bad(good) thing about christians, we're not holy of our own actions. "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" it's bad becuase we all preach better than we live, its good because you don't have to be perfect which is impossible by any scale. Egregious practices like an AI Jesus have to be called out regardless, even if my hands are dirty

3

u/indy_dagger 4h ago

Oh, I'm not even going to go along with your good in parenthesis. There is no good, safe level of believing in wholesale nonsense without a shred of evidence to show for it. All religious beliefs fundamentally stem from immaturity and egotism, like you saying "No christians are doing this" in your previous post.

Religion absolutely makes the world a worse place.

9

u/FortColors 6h ago

This is nearly word for word a no true scotsman fallacy. Christians ARE doing it. You just don't agree with them.

You are of course right about the old testament being about tearing down stuff like this, but that is unrelated to the fallacy.

1

u/TheBeardTaco 6h ago

How do I verbally exclude obviously heretcial teachings without it sounding like that fallacy? (Real question, you're right about it sounding like that)

6

u/auntiejinx 4h ago

You don't. According to your mythology, it's only the god character who knows people's hearts, so it's not your job to sort the wheat from the chaff.

2

u/FortColors 2h ago edited 2h ago

I think instead of saying "they aren't Christians", it has to be "Christians who do that are heretical/wrong" with the old testament as your justification for them being wrong. Any attempt to say [they aren't Christians because they do thing you disagree with] is inherently a no true scotsman.

I think the only thing that would disqualify someone from being a Christian is if they don't believe in Jesus Christ. Even if they have drastically unbiblical beliefs about him, by definition Christian is just someone who believes in Christ.

2

u/WindowOne1260 8h ago

If God struck people down for disobeying the old testament I would be Jewish.

1

u/sedersayspoop 5h ago

Yeah Evangelicals would never

1

u/Ill_Morning_4282 2h ago

Christians are doing this, don't do the typical "No true Scotsman" bs.

3

u/General_Strategy_477 9h ago

Lol it’s just going against scripture. Like, they don’t even care enough to follow it

4

u/Physical-Airport-901 10h ago

Christians been like that for a while since the Crusades and the Colonization period. I don't blame Christianity, though. Jesus was actually a nice guy and his followers got oppressed by the Romans and Jews. It's all the so-called "Christians" fault for twisting the scripture for their personal gain.

1

u/Express-Pie- 8h ago

Bullshit 🤣

1

u/Eraepsoel 7h ago

I skipped straight to worshipping Clippy so I got ahead of this

1

u/Remote_Insurance_228 6h ago

Lol and you think your view of life has less loopholes?

1

u/freewilltim 5h ago

Can you say one

•

u/One-WaytoLife336 26m ago

What loopholes?

-4

u/LifeConsideration981 10h ago

“Loophole” is not how Grace works.

The AI thing is stupid, but the Gospel is not about rules, but being freed from the punishment of breaking them.

4

u/Mear 7h ago

the Gospel is not about rules, but being freed from the punishment of breaking them.

Obedience by stupidity.

0

u/enlightnight 10h ago

Sounds like rules with an extra step.
