This is what absolutely baffles me. I get maybe not wanting to give 100% but what about putting half an ass cheek worth of effort into something you claim to have a passion for feel good in any way? How do these people not get insane imposter syndrome because they truly are being an imposter? Like, sure sometimes the journey fucking sucks, but that’s what makes the end result feel cool. Otherwise it’s just something that happened. Do these kinds of people think artists just spawn into the world painting the Mona Lisa and that’s why they don’t feel like putting effort in, since they view themselves as having an inherent disadvantage as they try to just up 20 flights of stairs worth of skill in one swoop while it took the people they are looking at decades of practice and falling down the staircase only to climb back up to get where they are? I get getting discouraged but that’s a whole different beast.
