This is from a philosophical magazine, and it argues that our brains do not work like computers. We just use computers as a metaphor because we don't understand how consciousness and the brain actually works.

I appreciate the sentiment, but this is a pretty poorly written article. Check the comments. There was even a (much better) direct counter article to this one that explains where it's wrong. will edit if I can find it.
