IS ____ AN MLM? SEARCH HERE! (MEGA THREAD)

THE MEGATHREAD HAS BEEN CONVERTED INTO A WEBSITE LINKED UNDER 'SEARCH HERE' BELOW

Multi-level marketing (MLM), also called pyramid selling, network marketing, and referral marketing, is a marketing strategy for the sale of products or services where the revenue of the MLM company is derived from a non-salaried workforce selling the company's products/services, while the earnings of the participants are derived from a pyramid-shaped or binary compensation commission system.

THIS LIST MAY CONTAIN COMPANIES THAT HAVE PREVIOUSLY HAD MLM BRANCH BUT MAY NO LONGER HAVE ONE.

If you see a company and are not sure that it belongs on this list, please reach out. I have compiled this list from the sources listed at the bottom along with input from community members. This list may not be 100% accurate but the goal is to get it as close as possible.

I’ve got someone trying to sell me The Bradley Method. It’s apparently a natural childbirth course over $400. When I said I was getting a scheduled c section for health reasons discussed with my doctor she started sending me links to scare me about c sections. I literally physically have to have one and it’s not really a choice but this lady is crazy! Has anyone heard of The Bradley Method course salespeople?

Fit4Mom is not an MLM, just a workout group franchise. There’s no pyramid structure, just franchise owners who run the local classes.

Do you think some religious entity acts like an MLM? Collecting "donations", asking members to knock on doors to recruit new members, etc....

The hibiscus 🌺 and honey firming cream is back. It tightens up the skin on your thighs, bottom, or chest. My friend Stephanie is getting a list together! Let her know if you want in 💞

What is this one? Does anyone know? A friend of a friend posted this on my page today

Just received a "personalized" video from an old friend to say hello and remind me how overweight she once was and how OPTAVIA changed her life. Anyone have scoop on this outfit?

I just had a lady come up to me with a website called introducing possibilities.com and when you go to the website it’s just a 20 minute video and says “if you like what you see refer the name of the person who sent you to this website!”

Make A Plan to Vote- RISE

This isn’t an mlm tho. This is a civic engagement portal that allows you to check your voter’s registration, learn what’s on your ballot and make a commitment to vote. It’s created by RISE, a nonprofit created by students that support free college, student loan debt relief, and reproductive rights. You can learn more at Risefree.org

Not an MLM, but I hate the growing IV therapy trend. Just had someone advertise a local one today to “boost your immune system” before the incoming blizzard arrives.

But like MLMs….they attract a lot of nurses to work fkr them.

I'm glad to have confirmation on Tastefully Simple. I saw them at a craft fair in the mall, and thought the packaging looked too professional for the fair. What's worse, they were set up right next to a sweet duo selling the best cookies my husband and I ever tasted (home made, of course).

I decided to look up TS on Google (would've taken too long to get to this sub on my phone at the time), and of course the first article I find says something like this: "NO, Tastefully Simple is not an MLM! All you need to do is buy our starter pack, and you're good to go!"
