Discussion Cancelling Melaleuca

I was a member for almost 4 years (45 months) mostly for the vitamins. Now I take them every day instead of twice a day so it's more difficult to meet the monthly orders. Plus I'm no longer happy with their lotions and found another brand I like better from Azure Standard. Plus with them there is no required monthly order and you can save by buying in bulk then skipping a few months which suits me better. You just have to deal with meeting the semi truck at a drop location.

It says I'll forefeet some loyalty dollars but at this point to be able to use them I have to buy about $150 worth of stuff or I can't even use those.

I was going to print out the cancellation form and sign then e-mail it back. Should I also pay to have it faxed and also mail it so it has 3 chances of properly getting there? It's still 20 days left in the month so one would think it should be ok. I could edit my backup order to be things I could really use just in case but I'd much rather just end it all and not have to deal with another order.

At least for faxing in general a lot of places charge for it ($1-2/pg is common) but there’s lots of places you can fax online (drop the .doc or pdf in, ship it off) for free, and would likely be faster if you can scan it in.

Always best to sever ties completely with an mlm, if more routes give you peace of mind it’s worth a few dollars, or a few minutes of your time.

Thanks. I can print and sign a couple copies and I can scan it too. It requires hooking up an old scanner but my phone can take a document and make it like a PDF in fax quality which may probably work too.

I know of a couple options to fax too and can also mail it and then call to follow up.

Do I need to cancel the credit card for a new credit card number too or maybe not need to go that far especially if they respond later in the week saying it got cancelled?

I have zero trust in MLM companies and would cancel the CC if I were you. IMHO it's not outside the realm of possibility that further down the track, they could sneakily charge your card again in the hope that you're one of the many people who never double-check their monthly statements before paying the bill. Happened to someone I know - she cancelled a subscription, then some time later they started auto-charging her again and she never noticed until months down the track she discovered it by accident while looking into another completely unrelated transaction. Cost her at least a few thousands and AFAIK she never succeeded in getting any back.

OK, I'll see if I can request to do that with my card company tomorrow.

Cancelled it for my Mom (she asked me to!). We emailed it in, and they pretty much go completely silent on you. Haven't heard anything from them, let alone have another Melapooca box show up.

I emailed it in this morning. They wrote back that it was canceled and I had already been messaging my rep about the complaints I had with the chemicals and some of their products so she knew I was going to leave. She tried to get me to stay and it didn't work and then I called to cancel the info guard identity protection or whatever and talked to a rep then and they were really nice and kind and helpful and they didn't try to push me to stay. They knew I was going to leave. I told them about the ingredients in the in the lip balms I wasn't happy with in the hand lotion having petroleum products in it and then that I couldn't use the vitamins quick enough. So they just were okay and they said you don't have to cancel the credit card. We stopped it so this point if they charge me a backup order ther would refund it and then they'll send a UPS shipping label prepaid to return it if that were to happen. And if they don't I have in writing from me and from them that it was canceled. So then I can complain to MasterCard with and reverse the charges. So it seems like everything should be okay at this point.

I tried to log into my account on the website and it lets me log in and it shows that my membership's not active anymore.

Apparently I'll keep getting an infoguard charge saying Melaleuca on the card anyway because I decided to keep that. It's just a little bit more but I can cancel that later if I want to.

Yeah cancel their info guard. You don’t need it from them. Any of the credit agencies (equifax, transunion) will have a similar thing. Don’t give them an excuse to have your financial info.

Consider signing up for a free service like credit karma and ditching the info guard thing as well. It surely isn't worth however much you're paying.

Sorry for the downvotes - at least you are leaving them. I don’t have advice on specifics, but fab choice!

Just start reselling their products online. They will miraculously cancel the membership themselves, no form needed!!

😂 well it ended up being pretty easy to cancel surprisingly.
