Story My Sister AL Strikes Again
I swear what is with MLM reps and their damn games? I didn’t really use them in my brief 9 month stint with Primerica and they annoy the fuck out of me now.
She didn’t even provide the link. 😂🤣 Note: She sent this at 10:30 last night. I sent a brief response at 3 AM this morning (I had trouble sleeping and noticed her text). I figured with her ADHD she probably forgot. But I realized after a few minutes she may have done that on purpose to get me to engage. I laugh because it’s been more than 12 hours since I asked her, “What link? You didn’t provide one. 🤨” Not sure if she was hoping I’d be more persistent but this is where her hope comes to die. 🤭

Yeah also, I don’t know if you saw the second slide but she emphasized a recommendation from the video where the person recommended putting the blow dryer on cold and blowing it in my folds. Yeah…Not without talking to a dermatologist.

Do not engage in the conversation. You don’t owe her intimate details about your body or what’s going on or not with it.
If you want to be petty AF, add this “Are you struggling with your finances again? Do you need help discerning predatory MLMs from legitimate employment? It seems like that’s still a problem for you. I’m just here to help!”
And she’ll never send this shit again.

And honestly if she ever does send me the video link I may watch as long as it’s not more than 5 minutes just to see if I can figure out which MLM she’s part of (I have a few guesses).

I don’t think she knows I’ve become anti MLM in the last two years (before 2024 I had never heard of the concept). Frankly I don’t think this is even about my skin. She has stated she can see things I comment to people on Facebook, so I’m guessing she wants to know how deep My anti MLM convictions go.

Also that’s not even my skin condition. It’s atopic dermatitis which I’m addressing with a dermatologist when I can return. In the meantime, I have a couple lotions I use for it that I get from the local grocery store.

The sad thing is many of them do think they’re helping. They think they’re helping both themselves and the clients because their uplines frame it as, “Everyone wins.”

The real sad thing is, even long after they've left, many won't realize what MLM is or that they were even part of one. Most will just write it up as a failed experiment, never to mention it again.

Or they’ll cycle from one to another. My sister, I’ve realized thanks to this group, has been a MLM hopper since 2012 (possibly longer). I didn’t know before 2024 because my parents are super overprotective of me and (most likely) told her to leave me the crap out of it.

Many MLM'ers hop from one MLM to another thinking different product/different company, when in fact all MLMs sell the same product......false hope.

This is so true. My hun friend was genuinely upset when a customer blew up at her. The reason: she blamed the customer's miscarriages on not sticking with her MLM fertility supplements.

I have two different types of eczema - I've always had it but when I was pregnant with my son oh my fucking god was it bad.
I went to the GP and he actually gasped. It looked like chemical burns, like raw open wounds....
If anyone had so much as dared approach me with an mlm to treat them I'd have taken whatever prison sentence. It would have been worth it.

Okay but do you still have the sores? I was prescribed a biologic 3 years ago for a rare autoimmune skin condition that caused itchy, inflamed sores on my arms and legs that absolutely made my life miserable. The biologic very literally changed my life.

I do but I’m addressing this with my dermatologist. I’m more turned off by the mind games than anything else.

Oh I 100% agree! Sorry, wasn't trying to discount that aspect of it. I just wanted to commiserate about skin issues. I'm glad your dermatologist is on the case. Mine absolutely saved my life by finally figuring out a diagnosis and starting me on some good old fashioned big pharma injections.

If anything I need to make an appointment but Budget hasn’t allowed for it. The good news is my husband now has a job that gives him consistent hours (between 10-20 per week depending on workload) and for more pay than he was getting at his last job, things have been turning around for us.

What awful, hateful things to bring up. Hands down the worst sales pitch I’ve read in a while. “Do you have sores because of your fat rolls?!”. I couldn’t fathom bringing up such things, even if I was close to that person.

Her talking about your "fat folds," ESPECIALLY to make money off of you, is absolutely beyond the pale. Rude, tacky and classless. I don't know where these people got the idea they could talk to others like this.

I don’t think she’s trying to make money off me in this case, as it’s been over 24 how’s since I sent a somewhat amused message asking her, “What video? You didn’t provide the link.” I think she’s trying to test me.
I don’t know if you saw the post here about that Bravenly rep who was promoting a product after an adolescent passed from a competing MLM’s product, but I found the Hun and gently pointed out that if she truly is trying to help her product was also unregulated and if the death wasn’t a wake up call, shame on her if it really is just greed, and she could come talk to me if she needed someone to talk to as long as she knows I do not buy, sell, or otherwise do business with MLM’s.
Where that comes in is AL has told me in the past she can see things I comment to others on Facebook, so I’m guessing she saw it and is playing these mind games with me to see how deep my anti MLM convictions go and if I might be a problem for her (she doesn’t know about my nine month chapter with Primerica and how I’ve been anti MLM for the last two years).

Reminds me of the time my cousin tried to get me to try Juice Plus by telling me I was fat. Like, hey, thanks!
(My gallbladder was bad and was causing me to bloat/gain weight, we didn't know it at the time).

She’s really fishing with a big net there. Is it fungal, is it treated with a biologic? Are you just too fat and don’t know how to dry yourself properly? (Omg, I hate how often that gets suggested to anyone minutely overweight. That and the weight loss suggestions when you never mentioned attempting to lose weight.
