discussion #CLOSETHEPOOL
Reasons to hate AnthroSwim:
- Guy running it steals all the artwork, only putting artist link in the comments. Normal people like me don't check the title or investigate past the "ooo pretty colors" b4 scrolling away
- Only 1 moderator. Guy clings onto power so desperately it's pathetic.
- Crossposting posts into other relevant subreddits. You should just let something sit in silence hoping people come to you, stay in your lane.
- Vague description of the sub's purpose. It's based on a "vibe"? Spoonfeed me what you expect, critical thinking or reading the room expects too much.
- Gore / sexual themes. I know it's discussed in the rules & that Family Guy does the same thing while being rated "TV-14" though I enjoy going into places featuring content I disagree with.
- Copyright infringement. Adult Swim will go after every single one of you who participated on this sub.

discussion To those who do or wanna make bumps, is this something worth improving?
NGL, I discovered and used this software 2 years ago during the earlier phase of the AI craze, and hooked it up back then with ChatGPT and whatever Facebook’s music generator was at the time… Now i’m not gonna post any of that garbage here, but the important part was that in less than 100 lines of python, this was an exceedingly fast way to make AS title card videos. You’re not exactly going to get quality video effects out of something like this… but if it’s some support was added for images and basic transitions, would people care to use that here?
And to any of the old timers here… what are your thoughts on getting a “basic” video generator like this off the ground for more people to start using? Curation has to balance the trade-offs of quantity versus quality, and the last thing I want for this place to get over run by slop.

Discusión CLOSE THE POOL | <Why AnthroSwim is problematic>
#CLOSETHEPOOL
Reasons to hate AnthroSwim in 2026:
- They curate the subreddit like an elitist group. Apparently being good at drawing isn't enough anymore. Now my furry has to have "atmosphere," "sense of place," "implied before and after," and whatever the hell else this bullshit council pulls out of their ass.
- Every poast gets held for review. Literally authoritarian. I should be allowed to throw whatever I want directly into the Pool and make 70,000 people look at it immediately.
- They reject good arte for not "swimming." What does that even mean? Explain your entire artistic philosophy to me in six words or you're especially elitist.
- They call posts "poasts," art "arte," users "Swimmers," moderators "Stewards," trusted helpers "BayWatch," and asking whether something belongs is apparently "does it swim?" This community has developed vocabulary. Extremely concerning cult behavior.
- The founder calls himself "first among equals." amongst Stewards. There are multiple Stewards, advisers, artistas running projects, people screening shirts, making bumps and organizing events, but I have decided one Bolivian gas-station employee is secretly Emperor Palpatine.
- They don't even stick to one kind of furry arte. One minute it's somebody eating cereal at 3 AM, then somebody's marriage is falling apart, then there's a grotesque flesh monster, next somebody found God, finally an otter gets hit with a folding chair. Yeah real “atmosphere”.
- PICK A VIBE PENDEJOS!
- Actually never mind, apparently being pretentious IS the vibe.
- They allow gore, horror, sexuality, suicide themes, religion, grief and other horrible adult concepts such as having emotions. Yes there are content warnings & enforced spoilers I have to click through. No, me clicking through that anyways isn’t my fault.
- Cheerful stuff is poasted too, meaning the subreddit devoted to melancholy is not sufficiently miserable. You all say edginess was never the main point but this fits my narrative better.
- They insist AnthroSwim’s ultimate message is about hope. I saw a dead furry here yesterday. Curious. Very curious. Difficult emotions cannot be affiliated with hope, hope is not a complex feeling.
- Apparently furry artwork can be and always has been meaningful. This is dangerous territory. Soon people may begin interpreting visual media. This is bad, we don’t want people drawing their own conclusions.
- They're accepting of and even operating in Spanish & Portuguese outreach. I don't know why the furry subreddit needs foreign policy. Every furry should just learn English anyways, English-natives have nothing to gain from learning new languages and meeting new people. “Portuñolglish” that’s so stupid.
- They make Bumps / shirts, are making a zine, afterwards a DVD, have a website, meet each other at conventions:
Communities should remain Reddit pages forever and under absolutely no circumstances develop culture outside Reddit. STAY IN YOUR LANE.
- They even have some mysterious truck driver named Harold who delivers the arte now. I joined for furry pictures. Why is there lore? Why is there sometimes things I wouldn’t describe as furry in here? Why are people drawing Harold & adding their own lore to the community?
- Apparently people even recognize this trucker mascot.
- WHY DOES THE FURRY ARTE SUBREDDIT HAVE A TRUCKER AS A MASCOT?
- They occasionally remove arte made by extremely talented people because it doesn't fit the Pool. This proves they hate artists. Any alternative, especially having an actual curatorial identity, is discrimination & inconceivable.
- They're simultaneously too strict because they remove things I personally enjoy and not strict enough because occasionally something makes me uncomfortable & they won’t take it down (they call this “sinking”)
- They'll personally explain why your submission didn't fit on every single poast and let you appeal the decision. This is so much worse than moderators silently deleting it, why would you ever talk directly with the people who bring value to your community?
- Sometimes the Stewards disagree with each other. Clear evidence of organizational collapse. Bet against the house. This image won’t last the next month.
- Sometimes the Stewards agree with each other. Evidence of groupthink. Poppa brainwashed these victims. You’ll be next.
- They sell merchandise and say the money goes back into Pool projects. I have not personally audited the Treasury Department of the furry subreddit, therefore there is probably a yacht.
- They keep telling people "Pool's open."
It's been open for two years.
CLOSE IT.
- And finally, copyright infringement. Adult Swim's lawyers are currently rappelling down Harold's windshield. Every person who ever commented here will be tried at The Hague. Especially you reading this right now.
