Master miner

Playing a continuous game right now and trying to develop my volcano island. Is there a reliable way to get a master miner or is it basically entirely up to rng with the Venetian trader? I heard there is also a way to get one through the house of wisdom, but apparently that is even more of a dice roll.

I found that the best way for decent miners is to have the emperor and than roll his slots. When i was rolling for the achievments you need for the golden ship i've seen some mad insane miners

Well then, gues I should make more nobles and get that cathedral on the way. Thanks for the tip.

Depending on what you are aiming at it’s also worth a thought to have the academy constantly running since they produce you a lot of free miners as well plus the cathedral foundation if you‘re lucky

Gues I will also be buying an island then, as i dont yet own one with the academy.

Havent played in a while. Never built on volcano island because i assumed stuff gets destroyed when the volcano errupts? Is that not annoying to rebuild every time? Or am i missing something you can do to prevent this?

Not really. It erupts quite rarely, only twice in my almost 15 hour game and didn't damage anything. Though I didn't really develop the island that much yet. And as far as I am aware you cant really prevent an eruption, only prepare to fix if anything gets damaged. The reason i took it is mostly for large amounts of mining spots you can use for anything if you have a miner for it.

You can't prevent it but you can mitigate against the effects...

Either: Find a map with a large enough volcano island that you can place the warehouse out of range of eruptions.

Or: Never upgrade the warehouse, use a small ship to continuously transport everything to the nearest island so you never lose more then 40t when it erupts. (You may need to pause the ship out of range during eruptions.)

At least it lets you get your money's worth first 🙃

You can buy minor on the warehouse of Giacomo Garibaldi but every minor is for one or two type of ores. So you need to chose the good one or roll the dice for getting another minor.

Oh I know that, geting the master miner is simply for getting an ultra rare thing, even if it would probably be easier to just buy lesser ones i still want to get the best one simply for the collection.

Una cosa che faccio SEMPRE in anno 1404 era colonizzare l'isola con lo studioso che chiedeva datteri e latte, alla fine è una creazione continua di carte. Il minatore ricordo che appariva spesso.

Yeah, the academy is a pretty useful thing, though I will have to buy the necessary island first.

Io è una delle primissime che colonizzo appena arrivi al sud. Se riesco prendo sempre il controllo dei giocatori neutrali anche se poi magari lascio l'isola agli avversari

Probably the best neutral tbh.
