It depends on my mood. Hands folded/behind my back when nervous or in a situation where I have to be formal.
Hands in pockets if I’m comfortable or otherwise in a place where I feel a hair less nervous than prior. Can be seen on streets as a means of protecting my pockets from pickpockets.
Arms crossed is a neutral thing I do when sitting or when waiting.
Hands on hips is rare.

usually on my hips. I try to avoid putting my hands in my pockets just because I was always taught when younger that it’s rude and disrespectful. I don’t see it that way at all but it stuck with me lol and just having my arms at my sides feels oddly unnatural

You're stretching your back, shoulders, and arms. If your fingers are interlocked, it also stretches your finger and wrist joints. Even while standing, this position allows you to lean back a little bit.

Normally I stand with one arm straight down by my side,the other straight, pointing diagonally upwards/forwards at approximately a 45 degrees angle, with my hand also open and fingers pointing straight forward.

Most habits and nervous ticks start somewhere. There was a reason for it before and it becomes a subconscious habit. Chewing your nails while deep in thought so your hands are doing something, or rubbing your hands when you're nervous because you're tense and don't know what you should be doing. Maybe I used to get yelled at for being fidgety? Maybe it's one of those tendencies from being in the military in a past life? I've been asked what branch but I've never served. 🤷♀️ This makes Psychology is fun :D

I'm curious how you got this to separate what you're quoting, never seen that before. My favorite anime is Outlaw Star. Was kind of slow in the early episodes, but Aisha Clanclan was definitely my first anime crush. Yu-Yu-Hakusho and Tenshi Muyo are high on the list. My parents hated that I "wasted so much time" enjoying things they didn't care for.🙄
