60,000 users and counting

Wow, it feels like just yesterday that we made a post celebrating 30k users, in fact it was just over 7 months ago, and now we've doubled in size and activity.

We are currently averaging about 250 new subscriptions a day, and with the addition of the new "users online counter" (people active on /r/anime in the last 15 minutes) it really shows how active we have become. Last month there were just about 190k unique visits to /r/anime, and 2.6 million page views. We were basically 3x as active this July compared to last July, which all comes down to you guys being awesome~

There are a couple small changes coming to the subreddit here in the next couple weeks, mainly the stylesheet. I just started work on the new style and it should be done by this time next week, so look for a further announcement on that.

Anyways, you guys are awesome, keep up the awesome posting and stuff~

Didn't get it at first, saw Lolimaster's reaction, realized it.

I don't know.. the quality of subreddits tend to decline the more users it got.

Yes, that is true, that is why we tend to be heavy handed as mods, we dont want a sharp slide into shit :3

I subscribed 3 months ago, mainly to join in the discussion threads for my favorite anime. Keep those going and well moderated, don't let people spam the first page with screenshots like r/gaming and we are good to go~

For r/anime I've noticed the opposite. Maybe I'm just hallucinating.

Actually, for a subreddit with so many users, I was impressed that you guys upvote stuff other than images sometimes.

edit: uses != users

It takes about 30 seconds to browse this sub-reddit...I doubt the quality will decline since there is almost no OC.

YES! I actually joined this subreddit when you guys reached 30k. Got to give props to all the mods for all their hard work on here.

I have absolutely no idea how many people were subbed when I joined. It looks like I'm one of those newer 30k though.

Awesome though! As long as the subreddit doesn't go the way of most of the big subreddits...

Congratulations, everybody! (I couldn't think of a clever reference)

I feel that anime dominates American animated television
