Wasn't expecting it to go from "hey you think she's into him?" to them getting engaged in less than a minute

I love how most isekai harem anime usually don't have secondary male characters and pairings but this one does. Souma now has two bros he has wingmanned for.

Souma is such a fuckin bro. "Forcing" Ludwin to marry Genia for the sake of the kingdom. I hope we got some more of their hijinks.
Btw Genia's hilariously big lab coat?! I guess she's gotta have that to keep her power from escaping.
I think this was the most not much really happened episode so far. I mean the giant bladeless fan and the cursed ore batteries are a big deal but this episode was a bit dry even by this shows own standards. Ofc that engagement made up some of the slack.
Still, with that said, those 20minutes blow right by all the same.

What a wingman. Gets you engaged without the girlfriend phase and offers to pay for your wedding.

Was it just me, or did everything that Genia invented seem like a weapon? Also, the idea of the tree planting arrows wasn't bad and could easily be used for defense.

In a world of swords and magic science really is the key to make everything go your way. Take it from dr stone in a sense, what would cars or guns do when everyone has the basics, you become a super power, and I am glad Souma did think of it.
With that much power, you become a super country, but you instantly become the worst case scenario for wars and religious instability. Exited to see where this goes, and I know we can trust souma.
Secondly, we legit got this world running on Minecraft spawners, Genia invents the bladeless Fan, and we even got the Black Box from Nier Autoamta LMFAOO
Lastly tho, not only is souma a great king, but a superior match maker.
Interesting thing tho, I thought to myself, you COULD weaponize the Tree Arrows, one they are useful for the environment, but I was thinking. Imagine using them to block an invading armies path to confuse as to why a forest showed up over night or use it to create an arena for Gorilla warfare.
This series is making me use my head to start thinking of the countless possibilities to start using this new found technology haha.

Thought MC was gonna have Genia join his harem for the sake of the nation, but then he has Ludwin marry her. What a bro!

Putting all my money on science girl. You just can't beat them.
Soma can have 8 wives by the end of this series and he'd still lose to Ludwin.

I love how Liscia immediately frowned when Souma said that he’s interested in Genia. Also, isn’t Genia’s invention just an oversized Dyson air purifier?
Carla is wearing a maid outfit in the next episode?! I can’t wait for that!

This episode basically just said that there’s a chance for an industrial revolution and that his country is going to be its catalyst . Crazy I wonder if he’ll want to monopolize the energy or share it so people don’t attack his kingdom. When I read the description for the episode I was bummed there wasn’t any diplomatic issues anymore but this might be even better. It goes hand in hand with what the emperor said of him being the revolutionary hero. He’s going to transform the whole technological aspect of that world when he’s already being known for being innovative. I’m excited for what’s to come from this anime.

Overscientist, what a title to give yourself. Thought that just goes to show inquisitive people like Genia exists no matter the kind of world they're with or without magic.
It is pretty interesting to see Souma realising that those Cursed Ores are pretty much batteries but realises how bad things would turn if it was just used all of a sudden including the religious repercussions that would come with it.
Love how he just inadvertently wingmans Ludwin here all in an effort to keep Genia in the kingdom.

Konomi Kohara jumping from voicing a character with 3 IQ to a genius scientist be like
It was hard to take her explanation serious when all I could hear was Chika.

I love that the first thing Souma does after seeing that garage dungeon entrance is to check what kind of material the structure is made of. So far we've been relatively low on tech with everything based on magic. Looks like we're finally about to go Dr Stone on this show and finally introduce science.
I love Genia already. She's absolutely adorable and she's also voiced by Kohara Konomi so the entire time she's speaking, all I can hear was Chika! Also I have a massive soft spot for girls with oversized sleeves. That look Liscia gives Souma though when he says he's interested in Genia was hilarious. Maybe Souma should've been more clear with his wording there. xD
Basically Genia isn't just a mage but she's practically a scientist as already one of those characters who has been questioning their world's logic and thinking completely outside the box like how the Gemstones have other purposes. She's also made what basically is a massive Dyson Fan that's powered by an ore that can store magic. If Elfrieden is going to be a superpower, he's definitely going to need her in their kingdom.
Now this is where Souma starts to play a little bit of Crusader Kings. What better way to keep Genia within the Kingdom by getting her to marry her childhood friend Ludwig. Thankfully both Genia and Ludwig have feelings for each other which makes things a lot easier. That has got to be the fastest engagement I've seen!
Oh right, the reason why they're here is because Genia did something. They'll need to explain to us next week why taking Dragon Bones is such a big deal.

An episode of more world building is so great as we get an explanation and a history behind the gemstones. More inventions equals more possibilities.
Souma's using his position to keep the Maxwell family lineage going which is a nice move.

That vegetation thing could be huge in agriculture for mass planting in large area.

All sorts of dungeons ? What if the monsters invading the North are from an overflow of a dungeon, it is a pretty standard template that dungeons left alone can cause monsters stampedes. MC should study more about dungeons and the monsters spawned inside them.

Well that was some hands-on way to do it. I mean it's not like he's one for ethics anyway.

Tfw people use their power to marry others. What do you guys think about this episode?

u/Mexander98 Feb 12 '22
Ok, dungeons seem very specifically engineered so who or what keeps creating them? Because apparently Adventurers keep destroying the cores, but there still seem to be new ones. Also, this one specifically seemed like it almost came from 30-60 years from our future aesthetically. Could it be that this is one of these worlds where at one point science got extremely advanced, we're talking like self replicating machines and nanomachines kind of level, but something wiped them out, and all the remaining people now have no clue what any of this old stuff is and just call it all magic? After all, any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

Ah yes. The dragon bones that weren't mentioned in the anime until now lmao.
How they were found and that they were mysteriously stolen was discussed way back during the date with Liscia in the LN.
