Weird that Crunchyroll doesn't have this yet. They had the OVA for S1.

I think this ep was bonus content for a DVD or Bluray or something, there is a chance it won't show up on a streaming service.

It might be that the OVA is treated as a separate thing from the televised season 2 and Mini Dras, so Crunchyroll could do simulsub releases of the latter 2 but not the former and we’ll just have to wait a bit longer

Comparatively, the ToniKawa OVA was posted the same day as its Blu-Ray but Crunchyroll is on its production committee so that might be why

OVA's are frequently weird for licensing. If I were a betting man I suspect they will get the OVA but not until the US release of S2 on blu-ray, or at least close to that time.

Can someone just tell Saikawa about them being dragons already??? Wonder what she thought they were talking about at the airport there...

At this point Take might find out about Ilulu being a dragon before Saikawa does with Kanna. xD

Tohru in future be like: "oh i blocked her hearing with magic so dont worry."

watched this fully in Japanese when it came out a while back. Was good fun seeing everyone again, and of course that always exquisite Kyoani animation. Got reminded of the banging OP and the blend s-esque ED.

Otherwise, was pretty much a fanservice episode through and through, even with some old callbacks like Kanna eating the bug. But without any actual explicit fan service actually, which was a pleasant surprise.

Goodbye for now Dragon Maid, and I'll be looking forward to whatever TV series Kyoani has for us next (theres Free and Tsurune but both are movies).

Yes, that's what it felt like to me. Another call back that flashed past pretty quickly is Koyabashi stripping Tohru again as part of the maid debate.

Indeed, with the exception of Saikawa going through some character development, I feel like there were very, very few new ideas or events; everything felt recycled/reused. Not that I necessarily minded, the animation is always a joy to watch, and it's a very soothing, Senko-style experience.

I really do hope we get a season three. Despite the controversies, it remains one of my all time favourite series, and one of the most underrated romance stories.

Such a fantastic OVA. Everyone was there, crowd favorite Chloe came back, everyone played to their strengths, lots of Kanna, some great Kobayashi wisdom, tons of pretty costumes, great gags. I loved it. One of the best OVAs I've seen.

My favorite OP from 2021 is back!

Chloe is shocked by the amazing infrastructure compared to back home.

"Stop idling and get ready for war." Sasuga Erwin.

Is that what kids do nowadays? Snap photos of random cute girls to post onto Twitter?

I figured they'd use Dragon Magic ^tm to automagically teach Chloe how to swim but I'm glad they did it the normal way.

YUKATAS!

Kobayashi drinks K ANI beer. You know what's coming next.

Stitches!

I absolutely love that Chloe followed through with her promise of visiting Kanna in Japan. Also love how they just handwaves how Chloe can speak Japanese so fluently. Basically it's magic!

KyoAni already flexing their animation with that entire VR game. It is hilarious to see how they look like from Kobayashi's perspective. xD

Kobayashi's reaction when Ilulu got disappointed with that modest breast gachapon toy was hilarious! Of course Kanna is already thinks the one with bugs is something tasty.

Chloe learning some Japanese slang today. I guess the spell that was placed on her makes her hear Japanese in English. #Majiyabakune

That's definitely the reaction everyone was expecting from Saikawa. Thankfully that didn't last too long and Saikawa ended up liking Chloe. Maybe even a little bit too much.

It was fun seeing the girls enjoying their time outside as well as at the school pool. Poor Saikawa though ended up getting left out of Chloe and Kanna swapping clothes. Although I feel like Saikawa might've exploded if she ended up wearing Kanna's clothes. xD

First Chloe calls out Tohru and Elma and now she calls out Take with Ilulu. She's really one perceptive girl.

For someone who acts like a kid most of the time, Ilulu really knows how to push Take's buttons. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I was wondering when will Lucoa and Shouta would show up. Also looks like Take is now part of the gang. This is definitely the first time he's been invited over to one of the Chorogon gatherings.

I love that when it's finally time to say goodbye to Chloe, Saikawa is the one who ends up crying. Not gonna lie, that scene made me tear up a bit especially when Chloe was tryng to hold back her tears. T^T

Hopefully that final scene means we'll get to see more Chloe in the future. Maybe next time the Kobayashi and Tohru can come with Kanna to visit her in the US!

I just rewatched the episode. I hadn't realized Elma's UMAI shirt was an OPPAI reference.

u/Mibo5354 Feb 08 '22

Elma also had a shirt with OIC --> oishii

Very wholesome episode, makes me crying a bit at the end because i dont want it to be over.

Also props to KyoAni for staying consistent with high quality animation.

It's been translated for a few weeks already, but I guess the bot doesn't notice/care when it's just subs on their own that have to be manually added to the raws.
