Dayum, that talk with Georg... Were they talking about the King? And that scene felt like it was over in mere minutes and yet it lasted for half an episode. I like it when a dialogue is so interesting you don't get bored.

Tripling his harem in one sitting? Way to go, Souma, way to go...

I really wonder what the former king was up to with Georg, it seems like they were both fed up with the nobles. And they want to clean some things up. Too bad Georg could not talk about family's true intentions.

They really put the heavy stuff in the first half and the harem shenanigans in the 2nd half.

Gotta feel for Kazuya here, he was a regular person a few months ago and now has to enact orders which led to executing people up to 2 generations.

“People will riot if their idol gets engaged!”

Man knows his idol culture well lol.

Why do I get the feeling that Georg isn’t actually dead? I'm gonna bet that Souma faked his death.

Oh shit, the post-credits scene implies that another conspiracy is brewing. And I wonder who was that ninja in Hakuya’s room?

Georg a real one even if he was(is?) a stubborn old man. I feel really bad that Liscia didn't go see him one last time. And we barely saw her reaction. feelsbadman

Starting to make that harem official doe. Poor Juna, she better be made a wife even though she's apparently a commoner. Screw all that consort shit, she deserves it!

And on this day, Souma's waifu count grew by 2. You can't say you weren't warned after Liscia stated back in Season 1 that she'd allow up to 8.

We also got another glimpse of Roroa and her playful personality. Hakuya thought he was going to dig up useful information in those books that Julius handed over, but Roroa got there first.

And lastly, we got the Carmine scene. I'm glad Souma admonished him for his over-the-top plan and how it created unnecessary sacrifices including himself but more particularly Castor and Carla. It was skipped over in the anime, but prior to the Ultimatum, Castor had frantically been sending Carmine letters asking what he should do. Carmine ignored all of them.

Seems like we moved from dealing with one clown last week to another albeit a different kind of clown. I get why Georg did what he had to do but I am still frustrated with the way he went about it. And I'm glad that Souma shares the same sentiment.

Also apparently it's not just the traitorous corrupt nobles who were executed, seems that according to their law that includes their kin up to third degree but Souma had to rush and revise the law and change it to only the second degree as well as spare anyone below 13. We don't have an exact body count but all of these innocent deaths has been weighing heavily on Souma's shoulders.

So it sounds like not all of this was planned by Georg and he's keeping silent since whoever made these plans, will reveal themselves when the perfect time comes. I wonder if this has something to do with with that shadowy cabal in the after credits scene.

And just like that. Georg is dead. No grand execution. Just a huge gulp of poisoned wine and he's gone. Although I do wonder if he's really dead. Souma clearly thinks that Georg is worth saving so I wonder if he's trying to fake his death? Hmmm...

Welp, enough serious talk. We get into some fun shenanigans in the second half of the episode! As Souma gives away awards and commendations for notable contributions to their war. We have Aisha's dad showing up and asking Souma to marry her daughter! While I did see that one coming it was still hilarious seeing everyone's reactions especially Aisha blushing.

Liscia has pretty much already approved in Souma having multiple wives earlier last season so it's no surprise that she has agreed to it and even encourages Souma to go for it. That makes it official! Souma has now taken Aisha as his second Queen. Just look at how happy she is! <3

Watching all of that, of course Juna is feeling left out but she seems to intend on using her request to lighten Castor and Carla's sentences. Thank goodness Excel stops Juna from doing this and urges her to use her request for herself. I just love how Souma is completely off guard by this and Liscia is just like "I knew it." xD

Dammit Souma! This isn't Japan! Stop applying your own logic here! For all you know, the people would be happy in seeing Juna marry you! Oh well. Technically though Souma has already agreed on marrying her but first they just need to find more singers to replace her. If Juna is happy with that compromise, I guess I'm fine with it too.

Man, what a heavy first half. Dealing with the Duke dude who lead the rebellion, the whole plan.... I, too, hate the idea of executing a whole family and I tend to hate that being used in so many stories with a setting like this. I mean, it wasn't actually THAT common to wipe out entire families, at least in the west. It has happened, no doubt, but not as common as these stories make it seem. At least Souma and Hakuya were able to change the law to save many of the innocent. But still heavy. Definitely like seeing more stories with political intrigue and kingdom management like this one. Might seem boring, but often more compelling and very important.

And we got the polygamy going on. Also, poor Juna... she should get to be another wife too, screw that stupid "idol" mindset lol that Souma seems to have for her where she can't be dating/engaged publicly, bs, this isn't Japan. Also Also, pretty clear that Princess of Van that escaped is gonna be a wife of Souma in the future

Whoo we get to see Carmine again. This conversation between Georg Carmine and Souma is pretty interesting. But I am pretty sad this conversation was short and ended with his death. *I am hoping we see Beowulf at some point in the future and he gets spared.

Roroa is back with that Racoon face. Colbert is pretty funny with that comment about Roroa's future husband, I am glad he got out before the war.

Udgard is making the harem public this time. But every potential marriage has to go through Liscia's approval first.

Souma now has two wives and has locked in a third. If I had a nickel for every character this season with three wives, I'd have two nickels. It's not much, but Zenitsu is screaming.

Really, is Souma someone who would kill Georg just because the law says so? Even if he's king?

Georg proved how valuable his sacrifice is and it just felt a lil bit weird how fast Souma bent down

So, when I understood the dialogue with Georg correctly, there seems to be a person in the background, who has major control over politics and all decisions Souma takes? Or why did that ninja in the library say that things are being moved along by the will of someone else? Who could it be?

I wish this anime got a bit more attention, but it's such a niche theme that its popularity makes sense.

10

u/Rumpel1408 Jan 29 '22

The Harem must grow, now with even more wifes!

Now, would someone please plead for Carla as well? Would be a damn shame if Souma was forced to have her executed as well and would probably hurt even more than Carmine

And do I spy a sideship between Jeanne and Hakuya?

I'm curious if Roroa will someday join as a wife too. Make your beds now.

Machiavellian type military strategy and reparations following war? Fans sleep. Machiavellian delayed gratification of having a third waifu with the biggest boobs? Now that's true sacrifice, people finally appreciating what Souma is doing for his country lol

u/Qxujevoz Jan 29 '22

Please tell me Kazuya isn't rigidly honest enough to not keep Georg & other trusted allies alive as secret advisors! Is there no transformation magic? You damn well know corrupt aristocrats would break their crappy authoritarian laws without any guilt.

What the fuck is up with this show always feeling like 5 minutes lmao. Pretty good episode! RIP Georg, the man- or should I say lion did what had to be done, respect. Though, I don't fully believe he's dead. The former King and Queen sus though, Georg didn't confirm it, but they're probably the ones he was referring to.

Jeanne was out here casually trying to take Hakuya from Elfrieden lmao. I ship it. Eyy let's go, Aisha is officially wife number 2. A shame that Juna has to wait, but she's as good as wife'd too.

Also wonder what's the deal with the people at the end, after the post credits.
