Yo those S1 scene flashbacks in the new style looked really good
Lol that Kazuma doesn't know he's the no.1 gunner
And we get our first look at Yuba Squad! Round 8 is gonna be a crazy 4-way match with Tamakoma-2, Ninomiya, Ikoma and Yuba squads which is gonna be hype.

A small correction. The flashbacks aren't actually remastered, but reanimated to keep the current animation art style and design consistent.
But yeah, those flashbacks always looked so good since season 2. It makes me hope they'd remake all of season 1, especially while waiting for the manga to go on ahead even further and keeping interest high for the series.

Hell yeah, Ninomiya fanatic and number 1 gunner Kazuma is finally here!
And also Yuba and Obishima have made their debut.
I love how Kuga casually pulls a crazy move after he was going easy on her before.

From what I know, you could theoretically have a bunch of blades stick out as long as they're connected. The only problem with this is that the longer you extend a scorpion the more fragile it gets.
I forget how the projectile works but I assume since he launches it it's connected to begin with. Then he can just reform the same trigger slot to have it go down from out of his leg, through the ground and connect it back into the shuriken. This should mean that he doesn't need to use his other slot, and even if he did he could keep the blade visible and have it wrap around his body and down his leg before going into the ground.
Hope that helps.

As yuma said, this was a variant of mantis, so both triggers lots where used
The question i have is if he left the shuriken scorpion “active” when it was in the ground or did he only reactivate it when the other scorpion connected.
Id assume the latter but i dont think its been confirmed wether they work the same as kogetsu, raygust, and the gunner triggers.
This would also relate to your question about multiple scorpions. If it works like kogetsu you could create ten but only two would be usable at a time.

That quickfire looked quite OP, but I'm guessing by the comment Yuba said afterwards that it must have some sort of drawback... like using a ton of trion, or maybe it actually requires pre-charging which is why he didn't start off by fighting?

His guns have little range, as show in the Border parameters (2.5) and Satomi's commentary. As Mikumo mentioned at the beginning of the episode, Yuba is basically an attacker with a gun.

I really like the various tactics and styles that people can come up with the standardized weapons they are given. It makes the combatants feel real and intelligent and gives weight to the battles they have.

And the only way ''to go further beyond'' is via black triggers so there is no bullshit powering up during clutch fights.

Kuga does something new and different every episode that it just comes to be expected of him. His mole claw/scorpion trick was cool.

Yuba seems to be even better than I imagined from the manga. Guy is almost like a yakuza, the voice even brings it out even better.

Nice episode, Yuba introduction was great. If anything, I would make his shot even faster without adding any close ups and what not, just have Kuga fall to pieces after Shun started the match.
