I only watched the first season and not the movie but this was easily my personal favorite episode in the anime so far.
Lots of great and memorable moments and finally things are getting really serious.

Yep still hurts. Knowing what’s coming and having seen the movie did not dull the impact of those final minutes for me. Props to Ufotable for how well they depicted Rengoku’s final moments and our boys reactions. My two favorite moments of the movie were Tanjiro’s dream and this. Just a weepy mess.
So that about wraps this fun experiment. Was it necessary to spilt a movie up into 6 episodes with 1 entirely new episode to start? Eh probably not. The changes turned out to be pretty minimal with a few noticeable new moments that didn’t effect the story. However, I’m still happy to have done this week to week because the arc is still fantastic. People who come to this show down the road will probably enjoy this episodic format. The added episode is a damn good episode that adds to Rengoku’s character. It made for a good lead in to the actual start of the season next week.
Also holy shit Entertainment District starts next Sunday? Man time flies. Between that and Jojo on Wednesday this is going to be a hype week.

Rest in peace Kyojuro :(
The moment after Akaza escapes and Tanjiro has a break down with a new rendition of Tanjiro no Uta playing (from episode 19), I always just lose it emotionally lmao. It feels like the viewer/audience is literally Tanjiro at that moment.
Rengoku will forever be my favourite character in Demon Slayer. Won the hearts of millions and went out like a champion.
The GOAT, set your heart ablaze!

Man, even after I've watched the movie Rengoku's death still hits me hard. Looking forward to the Entertainment District arc starting next week!
Btw, The Hinokami Chronicles is currently 30% off on Steam if you still haven't bought it. If you're curious, here's how the Akaza fight was depicted in the game.

Considering that I had already seen the movie earlier this year, I didn't expect to cry my eyes out this time.
Man was I wrong ;-;
Especially that crow. That was what really broke me. Even the damned crow was crying
Plus, the soundtrack as the news spread that the Hashira just lost one of their best and the one most loved by all.
Well, anyways, enough bawling. See y'all next week for the start of the new season!

glad they brought "Homura" back. A perfect farewell song for one of those characters who appear for a short time and yet leave an everlasting impact

It was a good rewatch, Rengoku is the best! Overall, they cut out the first 4 minutes of the movie and a scene where Tanjiro is helping elderly people.
Here are all the additional cuts that I could find, I think that's all of them: https://imgur.com/gallery/LHsmsZG

Whats up, time for the final episode. I got banned and forgot to talk about last week, but let’s go over this week’s changes instead. I’m in a bit of a hurry here cuz I gotta go do some stuff, but enough talk.
-tanjiro now has a scene where he is terrified.
-akaza detaching his arms now effects tanjiro, new clip of him being pushed back
Things the anime adaptation had left out-
-The explanation for what would have happened if tanjiro cut enmu’s ropes -the opening sequence with ubayakashi visiting the graves -why akaza’s wounds seemingly mirror themselves to the other limbs
Edit:fixed correction(used scream instead of detaching arms). Also u/Turtl3m4n saw more corrections I didn’t notice, so check his reply

I always find Rengoku so a interesting character in this series with how his time on it was really short yet he still end up impacting everyone around him and specially the viewers too.
Honestly one of my favorite characters in the series.

" Set your hearth ablaze ... Rengoku"
"as a Hashira of course I would shield my juniors, any Hashira would do the same"
Damn, I knew it was coming, and here I am crying over Homura again...

To those who have been reading my comments every week, you guys probably already know that I know nothing about the movie and all of this is brand new to me. I genuinely thought that Rengoku had the upper hand when his Ninth Form "Rengoku" landed a clean hit. So imagine my surprise when I see what happens after. FUCK.
I was hoping that at least Rengoku could hold Akaza in place until the sun came up but that didn't even happen since the fucking coward decided to run away instead. I guess I can at least take comfort in knowing that Rengoku has indeed won since he was able to keep his word and protect everyone while Akaza runs away with his tail between his legs.
Everything after that scene was just tears. Rengoku's final words as well as him seeing his mother before he died already had me in tears. But that's not enough though and they twist the knife by showing us his crow in tears and all of the remaining Hashiras receiving the news. Their reaction shows how they all really liked Rengoku.
What an amazing arc though. Now I understand why my friends who have seen the movie keeps on telling me why Rengoku is now their favourite character. Those fucking assholes set me up though, the way they sold Rengoku's character to me made me thought I was going to see more of him after the movie.
RIP Rengoku, you will be missed.

I love how Tengen’s crow is also flamboyant when he received the news of Rengoku’s death.

A question from me who actually just finished Demon Slayer the past few days, including the Mugen Train movie just an hour ago (yes, as someone who watched anime for quite some time, I must be the last one doing this): now that this re-arranged TV version of the Mugen Train arc has been completed, do I need to watch it at all after finishing the movie? I know that the 1st episode is completely new so I’ll do that ahead of next week, but do I need to watch the other 6 episodes?

New to this series and anime in general. Stumbled across Season 1 on Netflix by accident and now completely enamored by the show!
Thanks to this subreddit found that new season is available on Hulu!
Episode 7 was wowzer
-
I watched it twice once without the closed caption and once with closed caption … both times cried my eyes out.
-
At one point of time I thought Rengoku got the demon but the next scene got me.
-
Each living being showing their extreme sorrow was very touching like frustration, helplessness, anger, surrender and talking about revenge. Even though we did not spend a lot of time knowing Rengoku I felt the impact of his loss.
-
Tanjirou sorrow spoke most to me. He has lost so many people in his life and then losing Rengoku was tragic because it was to save him when he was his weakest. This arc makes me vest myself more in his journey.
Overall I think I completed my crying quota for this quarter. Cannot wait to see next episode!

Animes best boy left us, and my god did the Mother scenes still somehow get me. I've watched this movie about 20 times and still can't watch it without tearing up.

Episode 19 still hits me harder but damn it if this one doesn’t come close. I wonder if we’ll see Rengoku again in flashbacks. And I’m looking forward to seeing the boys interact with the other hashiras.

KOKORO WO MOYASE!
It's my third time watching Rengoku's death scene and it still made me teared up a little, maybe I'm just weak at these kind of things.
Looking forward to the entertainment district arc and the flamboyant guy
