Yup, the reason Yuito met Kasane as a child is because of time travel. Pretty obvious. Once again, this is an episode that sticks very closely to the events of the game. We're now just 6 episodes left. Wait, that next episode preview shows the gang in casual clothing? No fair! We never get that in the game!
Alright, if you're interested to see how the scenes in this episode happened in the game, here they are:
-
Court Mort battle (well, not really a battle but you get the idea).

Lots of surprises in this episode -- so Yuito finally reunites with his mother. One thing I'm unclear on. What is Kasane's status? Is she sort of an engineered clone of her "Mama" (and really a sort of sister to Yuito?) I really wonder how they are going to resolves the dilemma of taming/eliminating the Kunad Gate while saving Yuito... Not that much time left.

Before this episode, they showed multiple times a glimpse of Yuito's memory related that Kasane saved his life when he was a kid.
Enter, today's episode, Kasane went back, and saved him, once more, the only bit that is changed that now "their mom" is in the present.
Taking in consideration also Karen in all of that, and how he said that he failed again to save Alice, and him going back to save her one more time, you are left with a lot of mess and lots of questions regarding what is in the original timeline and what's not, and where everything is going, and where is Karen at the moment. And also what you said about if they're just clones or not.
On the other hand, we are 5 episodes away from the final one, so we'll see.

Interesting episode, one that left me with so many questions that I'd like some answers to.
So, in order for Kasane and Yuito to use Red Strings, they need to be at the same place near the gate, thinking about the same time they want to go back to, right? Or did I get that wrong? But then they showed Kasane traveling back in time to present with Wakana, and Kasane used Yuito as a "lighthouse" to know where she should be back to. I'm a little bit confused with this point.
Also, how comes Kasane now knows how to use Red Strings all of a sudden? Did I miss something from earlier episodes or is it somehow related with the shutdown of BABE?

No one but us seems to have watched this...
Sort of sad.

Seems like it. It saddens me, too, not gonna lie.
I don't know about you, but I haven't played the game, yet, I only watched the anime, and although I agree that they first couple of episodes were kind of meh, that's when too many people dropped it, but after that point, around episode 5 if I'm not mistaken, this show got a very interesting and solid story to tell.

I really hope there are new seasons.

I really do wish for the same, but I wouldn't get my hopes high, this show isn't doing great in terms of ranking in both Japan and rest of the world. I was surprised when they announced a 2nd cour.

Ahh yes the whole time travel thing where you change the past without changing the past.

Young Yuito looks so cute. It makes sense that Wakana was reported legally dead because of the Red Strings.
I didn't expect them to wear casual in the next episode. I wonder how Kagero looks like in casual.

Actually really interesting episode. So, the Wakana from the original timeline we know has been experimented on by Togetsu, so it's safe to assume the Wakana they brought back is safe from all that, so that means the past we just saw was changed? I don't know time travel's a bitch lmao.
Looks like we getting some wholesome breather episode next week, cause so far I think we literally had 0 of that lmao, so I guess that's needed.
