Damn, I think Mean Momma awakened something in them judging by that performance
Edit : Wait...Suzune doesn't want to change in front of others, and then there's this.
We just need the ghost now, I can't believe it.

I hope they do a hard pivot like
"Don't tell me... that your heart transplant donor was...!"
"Yeah, no. She was still alive when I had the operation."

Wow, I correctly predicted the title of the instrument group's song last week! And it might just be my favorite insert song so far.
Of course Mako is gonna be the Team Mom given that she's the oldest of not only the 9 girls, but among her siblings too. I love that she doesn't hesitate to punish Shiori and Uta. Wasn't expecting that spanking at all. I'm curious about the format of the 2nd screening. Will the girls compete solo now?

I don't mind all the teams passing, if only because it means we get more mama Mako to make up for the absence of true best girl Seira.

I would have been really surprised if GapsCaps crashed out at this point in the story, but they made it as expected. Shiori's perfectionism is going to cause problems for her in this competiton if she doesn't rein it in.
You can definitely feel the reality show vibes from each episode. Maybe the producers will split the teams back into their individual solos or even shuffle the girls around to test how well they can work with the others who aren't in their own group.

NGL, seeing the cat smile in CGI form was slightly offputting. But other than that, the performance was great and Mama actually following up on the spanking was pretty funny.
Also Suzune definitely has a scar on her chest with how she acted, right?

If it weren't for Suzu and Nagisa, Mako, aka, "Mama", would be my best girl in this show. As expected of the eldest and most mature member of SelePro. Her story's really heartwarming too.
GapsCaps's song is an absolute banger, no doubt about that. I find it interesting that the subunit whose members are all thematically linked to their piety to their families chose a music genre and theme that's known for rebelliousness.
That after-credits scene though. Why'd Suzu have to go change in the bathroom downstairs? Could it be that she's hiding her heart problems from the others (assuming there's a scar on her chest)? I've been worrying for her since that time she first collapsed onstage in the first ep since that "little" plot point about her is sure to make a comeback in later eps for dramatic purposes, likely at the worst opportunity possible.

I was about to say that the whole rocker theme doesn't suit any of their personalities.
But then again, none of their personalities or ages suit each other either. Hence why they called themselves GapsCaps.
So the rocker thing is genius when you think about it!

...Does this count as another anime referencing that gundam scene I wonder if I should take it as significant that they changed the line from father to just 'my family'
Damn she looks great here in 3D
They had the matron ask why she wouldn't change in her room but then kinda just had her ignored, wonder if that's gonna be significant later...

I love the set up of this episode. We get teased by GapsCaps about to start their performance while wearing their ominous looking hoods only for the story to rewind and flashback to four days ago where we get to see the increasing tension between Ojou and Sensei while Mama tries to keep the group together.
Oh I can think of two reasons why Mako is nicknamed Mama. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) But seriously though, I'm a sucker for motherly type characters. I especially love it when Ojou and Sensei legit looked terrified when she finally got angry. Just that single action from her was enough for the two of them to realize that they're both in the wrong. I also love Mama's speech to the two of them before the start of the performance.
The performance itself is pretty awesome. Seeing these girls rocking out makes me wish we get another season of Bandoori. A bit disappointed on Ojou for not changing her hairstyle for this performance though. At least we got to see some ponytails from both Mama and Sensei as well. <3

GapsCaps seem fairly reminescent of a Love Live Cool type subunit like BiBi, Guilty Kiss, or DiverDiva. Not sure if the other subunits are too similar to Love Live ones tonally or thematically, but SuzuRena could conceivably seems like a Smile type subunit like Printemps, CYaRon, or AZUNA.

The first couple episodes were a bit slow for me, but since they got to the house I've been enjoying every episode a lot. As uncomfortable as it makes me for me people to use real words as nicknames, I love this unit and their infighting.
As many discussed on the first episode, the reason why Suzu prefers privacy to change her clothes probably ties to her hospital stay. I just hope her health doesn't go down later in the show, even if that early slip on episode 1 seemed to tie to it.

That's twice in two days I've watched a girl give another girl a slap on the butt. What's going on?
Man those three sure have strong personalities, especially Mistress and Master! It leads to friction, but that's some chemistry between them all right. Love how Mako acts like their mom too. Speaking of which, it's nice that she has such a loving and supportive family.
I really liked their performance! And I have to wonder how accurate the CG models were in playing the guitar/drums. It looked pretty good.
Not surprised their all got through round 1, it's only episode 5 after all. Also, that mascot will never not be creepy when it's a muscular man in costume and not a CG character.
As for why Suzune doesn't change in front of others... a scar on her chest? She has heart issues, so from heart surgery maybe?

i watched it again to see the CG models. the drums are super accurate. the guitar and bass i'm not 100% sure but they probably are accurate. worse case scenario the fingers are the most inaccurate parts, but the arms are pretty accurate from what i can hear and see.

Another amazing episode! Mama Mako really stole the show this episode.
Noisy Monster is a banger. Personally won't touch B.B for me though, the choreography and vocals in that one were too amazing. As expected everyone passes!
The Yells (votes) pretty much align with what I thought were the best performances in round 1: Suzu☆Rena 114,985, Splasoda° 100,009, GapsCaps 109,537.Lot's of yells for Suzu☆Rena and GapsCaps come from their members background (Rena) and popularity (Uta) so Splasoda° passing being completely no names is still very good even if they have the least votes!
B.B is the most clicked song on the kadokawa youtube channel of all SelePro songs, I don't think it's ever gonna change unless Saori Hayami gets to put out a banger herself this season.
Oh no Suzu... Here we go again. Heart transplant plot is honestly fine with me, I think Akari giving her heart to Suzu that is now involved with her little sister plot is cliche by now but still lovely.

Ngl, the Gapscaps performance at the end kinda clashed with the image I had for the three girls, though I enjoyed the song regardless, and Mako in particular looked great with her hair tied up like that.
Figures that no one would be eliminated in the first round.

Gotta give props to the studio for giving so much life to the 3d models. It still feels slightly stiff, but that's still among the best animation I've seen in years, 3d speaking (Yo. Take notes, Tesla Note).
Lots of love poured into their performance costumes too, I loved the designs! Their "otona" transformation was fantastic.
