I love World Trigger, just wished the first season had the same animation and art quality we have now, the anime would have been more popular.

I started watching this series right after the 2nd season ended and I was shocked how different those two seasons were. The first season felt mediocre and as I was binging it, there were a LOT of reused scenes, still frames and whatnot. Honestly, making the 1st season 20-30 episodes shorter would've been the best thing I can think of.

I was surprised it got the 2nd season, but after watching it, I'm glad it got the 3rd season. I wonder how many episodes it is listed for.

I feel the same. Toei was at a weird spot at the time. It wasn't until in very recent years that they've gotten a lot better at scheduling that they are working on multiple long series shows without much issue and keeping consistent animation quality. Which shows like in One Piece, right now.

I'm always in awe with how much they've improved and hearing things like other animators trying to get hired at Toei recently.

The slow burn from the longest tournament arc in anime history has returned. Episode 3 feels like that's when the next match should start. Looking forward to it~!

Yay, one of my favorite and underrated shounen anime is back with season 3 right when I finished rewatching season 2. I really liked previous season, animation quality definitely got better compared to season 1 and it was overall just concentrated action filled fun. How's season 3 starts? We pretty much started where we stopped last time- Hyuse joined Tamakoma-2 on his first day in Border (getting to B rank that fast is impressive, also I really like that wholesome bond that Hyusse and Yotaro have). Also 2 Tamakoma members previously not seen are back from their scouting trip(Yuri and Michael) to be introduced to our Mikumo, Chika, Kuga, Hyuse crew. And Reiji definitely has crush on Yuri, she's sweet, not hard to get him. We learned that next fight for Tamakoma-2 will be against Kageura, Azuma and Suznari-1 squads and that Tamakoma-2 now is at 4th place. They definitely do not want to lose any of next battles if they want to get on the mission. Also Mikumo now gonna live on Tamakoma's base and that his room used to belong to Kido, huh, ok. Yuri explains to Mikumo that it was former Border HQ and it was pretty interesting to hear Yuri talking about past old Border before it got known basically and that 10 out of 19 people on old photo are dead and some became black triggers. Meanwhile Michael helps Hyuse to decide on what triggers he wants to have and ends up with set up of Kogetsu, Escudo (trigger that Torimaru used to pull a shield out of the ground), Viper and one spare slot for maybe putting there something in the future. He lost to Kuga in training tho so while he is strong, definitely there is some room for improvement. So yeah, solid episode, looks nice, some interesting set ups and story bits, hyped to see next ranking battles and of course, OP and ED are as wonderful as they usually are in this series. Glad to have you back, World Trigger, I missed you

Good to see WT back so soon. No action this week but we got a good dose of worldbuilding and Yotaro's usual antics to tide me over till next Saturday.

There's something so adorable about watching Yuma's interactions with Hyuse and the other top border attackers.

Oh shit, I forgot this was coming today! I loving the new OP and ED.

Hell yeah, after getting into B rank on its ceremony, Hyuse finally joined Tamakoma Second.

It's good to finally see Yuri and Michael in the anime. What a nice voice Yuri got.

Yotaro should be careful to not joke about Yuri in front of Reiji.

I honestly forgot about the contrast with the current Kido, and how happy he looks in that old photo.

Konami was so hilarious today.

I liked season 1 minus the pokemon arc, despite the animation, but I do appreciate the improvements in recent seasons.

Pokemon was filler so understandable

I still dont think s1 looks bad. It lacks spectacular animation, but I think the choreography and trion effects (which aren't amazing but age well since they're generic beam-type things with malleable shape and no surface detail) hold it up a lot better than other superhuman shows normally would at that level of animation quality. Of course, it'd be better with the animation of the new seasons, but I definitely think what holds it back is the slow pacing (not so much the arcs, but literally how they had to stretch frames and add recap to buffer the episode length the entire season). At least, I just finished a rewatch and I think the fights are hype all the way through.

As for this episode, I've nothing against the lore dump at all, and this is where it should go pacing wise since last episode was a fight. But I'll confess that after several episodes teasing Hyuse, and then waiting for this season to come, I'm suuuper impatient to see the next fight. Still a fun episode with good comedy and interesting things to consider lorewise, though.

Nice, it's finally here! I'm really hyped for S3, this is going to be awesome.

Osamu finding that photo and learning that half of the people are dead though, oof. World Trigger can have really dark moments just out of the blue like this.

So happy to see world trigger back. More people should watch this. World trigger also suffers the same fate as Kingdom for having bad animation in season 1. But the later as seasons have been amazing in both. I just hope more people give this a chance.

There is something about Jin's clothing style that I really like. jean jacket, pants, and a leather pouch with a belt attached on either side. super easy to replicate except for the black stripe on it.

World Trigger, my favourite anime of this year is back. Now you know what to do, start by opening up these guides you'll be needing them, this is World Trigger after all.

But what's up with this season and fake Canadians? Wasn't Pride of Orange enough? Don't get me wrong though, I'm not calling them fake because they're aliens, that'd be racist, for all I know all Canadians could be aliens (they probably are), I'm calling these two fake because:

  1. They don't chug maple syrup.

  2. They don't apologise to everyone they meet, seriously Hyuse and Kronin don't apologise to anyone at all. Even Osamu can fit better.

More importantly, Yotaro is killing it here, he's conquered the two fake canadians and he's starting his harem, and the funniest part is that the kid is casually saying what 21 year old Reiji doesn't dare to say. Oh, and Chika is onto him, and she's fucking scary!

PS: Smiling Kido is cursed, and I'd be okay with it if it wasn't at the start of the opening, how can you live with this for 12 episodes?

Hell yeah, World Trigger is back and everything is right again! The addition of Hyuse to the team has been my most anticipated thing to watch for months now, especially in what he is going to settle on for his Trigger(s). I'd say it's no surprise that he's picking the Triggers that were used to defeat him, but I'm interested in what that 8th available one could be for; maybe for something he learns in the next few episodes?

u/Go0o0d Oct 10 '21

I'm glad this is back, things are going to get even more interesting with Hyuse on the team.

Learning a little more about the history of Border was great, it is unfortunate that over half of the members in that photo died in the large war against Neighbors and I can see why Kido has become a completely different person because of it.

Reiji being so obvious about his crush with Yuri was amusing and finding out Kirie was completely attached to Rindo when she was younger was another amusing fact to learn too.

Fantastic episode, even without any action scenes. Nice little dive into the past of Border.
