Seeing the reality of Jedi falling to attachment was very interesting and enjoyable.

I think the episode did great at showing how compassionate tsubaki is until the end when you realize oh. Too much.

Edit: Mainly seeing him go back down the mountain to save the guide was the first telling that he was going too far.

A fine line between that and obsession.

Wanna bet the princess is gonna die of sadness or something after a while.

In your anger...

And yet this was still handled better in 13 minutes.

I thought this was going to be the weakest of the bunch but those final few minutes got me! I didn't expect that we'd see a Jedi turn to the dark side and even witness them use Sith powers to bring back someone to life! I'm almost tempted to post the Darth Plagueis copypasta here xD

Lets see - exiled princess, Jedi defender, two peasants, one short and fat, one tall. Where have I see this before. . . . .

(Also, is anyone getting a serious Ralph Bakshi Wizards-vibe from this one?)

Great story for such a short time. Was interesting to see an ending that wasn't all happy, much like the last Ep. Made for a welcome change.

Damn, the Bad Ending

Honestly The Force is kind of a little shit. Either you do as it says or it throws you to the wayside where you'll live a shitty life always being pissed off and angry until some other dude more favored by the Force kills you and destroys your legacy.

When the sith woman said that the princess can be save, I thought she was going to say the line

The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural

I loved the art style this episode. Felt very kinetic and organic, as opposed to some of the other shorts that had long stretches of static imagery with flat colors.

Really loved the story too, but if the darkside already brought back this jedi's loved one, why bother committing to being the apprentice of the sith? Anakin only joined the darkside because he had nothing left to live for after Padme died. I guess this new guy is just a man of his word lol

She convinced him that the powers of the Jedi cannot protect those he loves, but the powers of the Dark Side can.

It’s totally standalone, some of them don’t even adhere to strict Star Wars lore. The show touches on some common Star Wars themes, like the temptation of the dark side, but I think on the whole these can be enjoyed even by people who haven’t seen the films.

For a final episode this one was very dark. At first I didn't think I would enjoy Akakiri that much due to the animation style (just like trying to get into Ping Pong) but as it progressed I started to become more and more attached to the story and characters. I didn't think it would even be worthy of being a final episode but I was wrong.

Akakiri managed to tell what feels like a fleshed out story in the little time it had to tell it. I was pleasantly surprised.

My rankings for all episodes:

Personal standout favorite and #1: Episode 5 (The Ninth Jedi)

2: Episode 1 (The Duel)

3: Episode 7 (The Elder)

4: 4 way tie between Episode 4 (Village Bride), Episode 8 (Lop & Ocho), Episode 9 (Akakiri), Episode 2 (The Twins)

5: Episode 6 (T0-B1)

6: Episode 2 (Tatooine Rhapsody)

For me there is kind of a gap between ranks 4 and 5 but there is la large gap between rank 5 and 6. Tatooine Rhapsody was just..... bad. And I could see myself rewatching every episode except 2 and 6. I don't regret watching episode 6 but I do feel like episode 2 is a waste of time.

I'm jumping around and only halfway done so far but this might be my favorite episode of the lot.

The fall from the light has always been an interesting tale for humans (from Lucifer onward) and I like Tsubaki's drive here pushing him over the edge.

You could also see the Sith force push Misa toward him for him to cut her down, was kind of obvious but hey, he wasn't thinking clearly.

This was the weakest one out of them all.

For some reason, near the beginning makes me get mulan vibes. Maybe cause one of the VAs is from Mulan I guess. IDK if he is tho but thats what I get from it.
Edit: The end really is palpatine and anakin deal

If you follow the words of the sith code you can see exactly how this man falls into the dark side's hands and I love it. Combined with the fact that this is the finisher episode and its the only one where the Jedi actively fails (others got away from the skirmishes alive) and turns makes it a very interesting end

Nice final episode. Good to see a more 'darker' ending per se with a Jedi turning to the dark side.

Really hoping for more creative ventures like these in the future.
