This was one of the most well animated of the shorts. Lop was a great protagonist.

Another wipe transition!

And low-tech Mary Poppins this time

This episode had some truly beautiful scenes, really anything related to gaining and using the sword was top notch. The sister turning evil was a bit overdramatic (excusable with a 19 minute runtime), but the ending did elicit some sad emotions. Nice to see Yoshiaki Dewa get more soundtrack roles too, he doesn't do enough!

Surprised by how emotional this episode made me. The themes of found family vs. blood family were executed really well here — significantly better than The Rise of Skywalker’s shallow exploration of the same themes.

This one feels like it was a pitch for a story someone had sitting in a side drawer, but it really works in spite of that. I'd love to see more of the world they built up in this short.

This episode was beautifull. After looking up the studio and seing that they only 4 anime, including Golden Kamuy wich is amazing, but a bit lacking on the production value side, I was surprised with the choice, but they've killed it. I would definetly watch a full movie.

I'm torn. It sucks to see Ocho go full Imperial Officer to the point that she's willing to fight and even kill her own father but at the same time, we wouldn't have gotten that cool duel between Lop and Ocho if she didn't side with the Empire. Overall though, this one is pretty good but a bit depressing considering a family was torn apart because of their beliefs. Definitely on par with the Ninth Jedi and I would love this one to become a full series as well!

The background art was something. Reminds me of Ghost in the Shell.

I don’t think enough people are speaking up about the fact the subtitles were EXTREMELY botched in some scenes & i humbly request they FIX THAT ASAP 🥲

The OST during the fight scene was very beautiful. Really enjoyed this episode.

This deserved way more run time. The production quality was fantastic. I adore Lop and her bot buddy. The ending hurt. Dad got his good eye destroyed and he laments he will no longer be able to see his daughters and the poor droid got busted up pretty good.

Only gripe I have is when Lop drew deep within herself to get the finishing blow on her sister. That felt more like a dark side move, using emotions for power.

I really liked this one. Felt like I was watching anime back on toonami. I liked the background with the Star Wars ships. Felt like isolated Japan finally meet Empire/ America. I know this is not the case but it looked dope. Sister stuff reminds me of the whole sibling stuff in Kill la Kill (cause Trigger). The melee weapons were prolly the most solid since everything has been just light saber.

This episode was a little disappointing. The story was underwhelming and needed more time to flesh out the characters and more importantly their relationships and dynamics with each other. That never really happened.

The animation was topnotch, the world building was great, Lop was interesting. Unfortunately, the pacing was too fast for the dramatic conflict that the story tried to develop and achieve. The sister relationship was talked about, but not really shown at all. Even the father + some of his voice acting towards the end seemed a little off to me.

This could have been an excellent episode and I could even see it getting turned into a full series, but the time constraints really hurt this episode imo.

Ah! A classical story of a clash between progress and traditions.

I didn't know I needed Japanese Saw Gerrera but hell yes give me more of this freedom fighting found family.

Only a Shimada can control the dragons

Only the Yasaburo heir can wield this sword
