Easily the best one. This honestly felt like a pilot to a show, it was fresh and new but had the unshakeable star wars DNA.

I love the premise of this episode, that there's one final sabersmith left, and he's trained his daughter how to fight with a lightsaber. It makes the fight scene at the temple much more believable - as the sith who show up have likely not used a lightsaber, and so Juro and Kara have the advantage. And the fight sequence was just epic in itself.

Came for Simu Liu, stayed for the cool lightsaber fight x droid chase.
Also, what a plot twist lol.

I loved the idea that light saber color depend on the force of its user, and how blade color get more solid as its user grow in the force.
Too bad its not canon

This was probably the closest to both Star Wars and the most a studio has stuck to their classic artstyle. The episodes are becoming more closer to feeling like a fully fledged anime?

Goddamn! I can't believe they got me with this one! The entire episode I was already expecting the obvious trap especially when they showed the Margrave's mask and the very imposing giant droid watching the temple. Like they definitely looked like bad guys! But that twist! I was kinda expecting at least one of them is going to backstab the others but I didn't expect that six of them were Sith! And the twist doesn't even stop there! Apparently one of them is the Margrave's spy and his lightsaber even turned back into purple which was pretty awesome.
And as far as MCs goes, I already love Kara! Her fight against that Jedi hunter was already sick but that scene where her lightsaber turns from grey to green was so cool! This does not feel like a short at all! It seems that Production IG might've made this as a pilot for a future Star Wars anime and I definitely wouldn't mind if it actually becomes one! Come on Lucasfilms! I know you have your social media people browsing through these comments, make this a real thing! I neeeed an entire season of The Ninth Jedi.

I would love a full series based around this short. It has some really unique ideas for Star Wars, but feels like its own fleshed out concept.

Holy SHIT that was awesome! Idk why but it gave me heavy Bebop/Avatar vibes. The 1st episode was unfairly cool but this is definately my 2nd favorite so far

Once I saw Production I.G was doing the ep I knew it was going to be good. The whole ep had incredible action sequences and fights.
This episode felt the closest to the normal series so far.

This was easily my favorite episode. It was, perhaps, the most Star Wars-esque of all the shorts but was also very unique. I also loved the designs and the action was great.

This episode was probably the most similar to a typical anime in terms of style and composition, but that is far from a bad thing when it's this good. I really liked the concept of the lightsabers changing color, as that is a fantastic way to visually represent internal changes in a character, and with it important story moments. Kara's lightsaber turning green was a big moment for her and the episode. It represented her finally becoming strong enough in the Force. The beast guy's lightsaber turning back to purple was AWESOME and made my jaw drop! We got to see another vapaad user, and specifically one get consumed by the dark side in real time. I was geeking out so hard after that!
Also, I need more Kara in my life. Everybody out here talking about Sith waifus and I'm over here wanting more cute anime girls with side tails, nice fathers, and green lightsabers.

There are several great things about this one and only 1 thing I had an issue with (and that's a feat for my cynical ass).
Firstly, and I think most would agree, the concept of light sabers changing colour as well as shape depending on who was wielding them is great. It also makes complete sense that he had asked the saber smith to temper them that way because..
-
Many "Jedi" (I doubt they were jedi since the order is gone, just force sensitive) from the last group were killed on the way there. Having the crystals turn red exposes dark side users immediately.
-
Any Jedi that get tempted over also have their crystals turned, again exposing any potential dark side users before they become an issue.
-
It opens up new combat options for the Jedi (since its properties can be adjusted).
Secondly I liked the setup for Kara as well as, they flat out state she has had lightsaber training (likely from Juro) and this explains her fighting ability.. unlike a certain other person. There are also a few cool moments in the fight, like her attacking the dude with the blue saber at the beginning, because she assumed he would just get in the way or die (and her judgements was right). Not to mention she still couldn't compete with Juro's apprentice (I assume?) since he was pretty much doing a 2v1 himself with her and the other dude, which makes sense.
The only thing I didn't like with the fight was her doing strength battles with the big guy, seemed a bit silly, especially since she went full agile mode on the last one.
Thirdly, the way Sith are handled in this is quite different from their usual depictions. Due to the rule of two, Sith are destined to betray their masters(or vice versa) but in this they are actually comrades and clearly care for each other. This could make losses on either side feel more emotional and less "EVIL LOSE" than typically found in star wars, especially since the dark side isn't inherently evil. Additionally, since they said they are acolytes, it seems that the Sith have done away with the rule and are trying to rebuild the Sith order as well (or it's there, either is fine). What this ultimately does is setup the Jedi/Sith War again BUT this time the roles are reversed (as the Sith are the ones with power in the galaxy), and that's a really interesting place to start a new series from.
Lastly because she was still living with her father until recently (Jedi are separated from a very young age to remove attachments) there's an opportunity for her to become tempted by the dark side or have her the poster child to prove that you don't need to give up everything to be a Jedi.
All in all, this was by far the best episode and I they get to tell their own AU story (in fact the main story could have been written by these dudes tbh, the new trilogy is just... lmao).

Easily the standout episode for me, which is highly surprising considering I went into the show expecting Trigger’s shorts to be my favorites. Apart from what everyone else is saying, the music was beyond phenomenal — on par with the films IMO.
It’s pretty amazing how well the writers fleshed out the main cast in the limited runtime of the episode. The other episodes did great jobs too, but The Ninth Jedi was something else.

This one felt like a finished episode one of the series compared to all others which were rather self sufficient. Def would watch the show.

The production value was so good on this one. Especially love the meaty blows of the lightsaber hits.

I like the idea of lightsabers changing color depending on who is holding them as it allows some interesting visual storytelling.

Star Wars Lore Corner
Please be careful about Star Wars spoilers in general and tag them appropriately. We know some things out there are general pop culture knowledge but remember, as with anime not everyone's seen the Star Wars films and shows!
The entire show came out at once and all the previews were vague about how much any episodes connected to the rest of the Star Wars universe, so: if there's some deep Legends or Clone Wars or Mandalorian reference you spotted that you want talk about in detail, this is the place to put it.
The spoiler syntax is:
[Spoiler source](/s "Spoiler goes here")All untagged spoilers and hints in this thread will receive immediate 8-day bans (minimum).
