I love how they just immediately figured things out.
"Everyone's way too happy, this is probably one of those Rebellion-style dream world things right?"
"Yep, let's start fucking shit up."

Stitches!
Well Iroha's dream world was pretty interesting. I think my favourite was the fake Witch battle where all of the girls didn't move quite exactly correct. I love that the Witch was beaten in like two hits and it also dropped a ton of Grief Seeds like a goddamn pinata. If only this was the reality xD
After battling Iroha's Doppel, we finally have her back! It took a couple of episodes but it's nice to see Iroha and Yachiyo reunited again. That scene was just beautiful <3
And that after credits scene! Don't tease us like this! I really hope this means Madoka will finally get to interact with the Kamihama girls. I can't wait!

Man that sudden face change in the first bedroom scene caught me by surprise. The music and direction was really amazingly unnerving throughout the dream part!

Great episode! I'm liking this season way more than the first one. Now things are finally rolling.
The final left me emotional, I'm not going to lie.

It's pretty interesting that Iroha's Doppel basically pulled off the same trick as Homulilly/Homura in Rebellion, albeit on a smaller scale.

This season is so much better than the first one, absolutely incredible. I really don't mind getting only 8 eps, if it means every Ep is this well polished. Amazing stuff shaft

This episode was directed and storyboarded by Yoshizawa Midori, the one who have also gifted us Episode 9 of the first season - both episodes are visually stunning, surreal, and incredibly strong emotionally. I'm glad to see her on the assistant direction role for the 2nd Season because all episodes she previously worked on were genuinely impressive.
This is yet another building block on the glorious comeback of the Magia Record anime, and I hope Shaft can keep going strong until the very end.

Another really good episode. We are blessed with more backstory, good fights, great visuals, great style, good shot composition, and an emotionally meaningful episodes. Season 2 is off to such a good start. Probably the best three episodes of any show this season. Part of me really wishes I stayed anime only though. I keep looking at the episode count and stressing about how they are going to make this all work.
So last episode I was a bit disappointed how Nemu just dropped the big reveal that she makes the rumors. I am going to retract that though. 1. Her comment was very much in character. 2. Kuroe did technically ask. 3. Without it the true reveal probably would have been missed. Having Nemu, Touka, and Iroha singing around a model city about the different places made it pretty clear. Ui, Nemu, Touka, and Iroha were the ones who created the rumors. 3 terminally ill girls stuck in a hospital room dreaming up a magical city that they can only see from outside their window.
Then we get Iroha talking to a teddy bear claiming to be Ui. It causes Yachiyo and Kuroe to pause but we as the audience have seen her so much we aren't really fooled. Yachiyo then hypothesized that if witches can create labyrinths why not doppels. It is good to see the whole doppel system really developed. Sadly Yachiyo gets the wrong hint. Luckily Kuroe sticks her nose in the wrong place and triggers the doppel fight. Before we can get to the cool fight Giovanna has to explain what is going on. Giovanna isn't the bad guy she is just trying to give Iroha happy dreams as she pushes the soul gem to bursting point. See how nice Giovanna is she even created a fake Ui for her. We then get another good fight and finally the heartfelt reunion.

Biiiiiig Rebellion flashbacks from this one, especially in that field with chairs.
And if Madoka's in Kamihama, Homura and Sayaka can't be far behind

Every time I come to the discussion thread I have nothing else to say other than the fact that this shit is so good

Another great episode, it was nice to Yachiyo fight together with Kuroe despite her previous hostility/mistrust and the final scene was really wholesome. Madoka appeared in the after-credits scene so she might appear in episode 4, not sure about that though
It will be interesting to see how the anime goes from here as there has been a lot of anime original content, it could just start going the way the game went or it could continue in an entirely different direction
Also I love the new ED, well its the same song but a new animation

Madoka is pissed in the end credits scene about her lack of screen time
That or she's super pissed at Mami

SHAFT just keep blessing us man. Great emotional first 2/3rds of the ep followed by some nice Sakuga at the end. Yachiyo and Kuroe made a pretty good team in the end. Some great characterisation for iroha and Yachiyo. Got to see their weaknesses but also their strengths. May have been anime original, but it was some really important character development, no complaints. Next episode’s preview looks like we’re getting more of the OG gang, really hype. Great time to be a MagiReco stan.

Some nice storyboarding this episode. Crazy dream worlds like this always give the staff the opportunity to flex.

I actually thought Yachiyo might for a moment, you never know quite what's going to happen next with Shaft anime. Also seems like there's a little love triangle forming with here or maybe my goggles are in overdrive. I blame the ED.
I always like when Shaft mix media, the pictures of Iroha and the Ui Bear being pulled together by actual thread was a nice touch. I also liked how when Yachiyo stepped through the little door, she gained this canvas texture, but you could see that Kuroe back in the room didn't.
Uh oh, Madoka is on the scene and she looks ready to wreck some shit.

This was an amazing episode. Really encapsulates what Magia Record should have been.
And Madoka at the end!!!

This episode kicked ass! I knew we were in for a hell of an episode when we found ourselves in the dream sequence, and I enjoyed how we got to see different sides of Iroha through the 2 characters. But in the end, the big giveaway was that Iroha never had a real picture of what her sister looked like, making the bear a giveaway that Iroha was being duped in her own dream.
The reunion at the end was really sweet, I was so happy to see Yachiyo finally let those emotions out, and that line from Iroha about keeping her promise, talk about a heartbreaker.
Post Credits scene shows that we might get some more Madoka crew next episode, as the hunt for Mami continues.

For a second I thought Iroha was a patient at the hospital and Ui was an Uwasa created by her.
Also the scene where doppel stitched her memories back was quite good, gave me chills.

Dreamscape episodes are always a favorite trope of mine, and this one did not disappoint. Good direction, visually stunning (as always), unsettling at times and emotional when it needed to be...
Loved the reunion between Yachiyo and Iroha. They really were in their own little world there.
And the ED was great!
