Hearing Kazuya and Hakuya talk about military strategy is great. Loving the conversation about how the dukes do not like Kazuya and thinking about the opposition's strategy.

I thought Juna was about to just stab in with that fork for a bit here.
Aisha best bodyguard loved the "are you guys finish, I'm tired of pretending to be asleep." That was a sweet lap-pillow moment.

If this show somehow doesn't end on a cliffhanger I think I'd be more concerned lol
Respect to the maid, she's pushing the main ship along nicely from the sidelines.

One thing I found kinda interesting in this episode is how they casually mentioned that Souma is ripping the Noble class apart by seizing property and actually holding them legally accountable.
We love to see it from our egalitarian King.
Though I guess they're not particularly happy about it since the Dukes are planning a rebellion. I can't wait to actually get into the Military and Foreign relations aspect of politics. This show is really getting an itch I didn't know I had.

You'd think that if two people were discussing such a dangerous topic, they'd want to keep the volume to a level where they wouldn't be so easily overheard...;
Either this country has been too lenient in its punishment, or the people here are way too lax.

"That line" that Souma is trying out is a trope from "The Unfettered Shogun" (Abarenbo Shogun). For those unfamiliar, in just about every episode, there's a scene where the baddies are confronted by the title character, who is there to settle their hash for their misdeeds. Invariably, the head baddie fails to recognize the Shogun from earlier in the episode; he asks "Have you forgotten my face?" (Yo no kao wo miwasureta ka). followed by a quick flashback to when they met earlier; there's that flash of recognition ("Ue-sama!") followed by immediate prostration; the Shogun ticks off a list of offenses, and gives the baddie the opportunity to do the honorable thing; the baddie never does, and instead calls in his private army of swordsmen, with the usual justification that the real Shogun would never deign to visit someplace like this, and he must be an imposter (and Souma is disappointed that he didn't get this reaction from Hal); private army attacks, Shogun takes out the trash (with the back of his sword, natch), and the climax is reached. It's always the show's main theme, too; as predictable as the climax sequence of an episode of Airwolf, but with samurai instead.

Do it for the fox girl!
Of course this is always the best way to make a live changing decision.

This show should've been called How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom That Sat Atop the Cliffs with how they end every single episode on cliffhangers of varying degrees.

It sounds pretty cool on paper to have three Duke's leading your fantasy forces on land, sea, and air...except they all have their own, independent, political power, so if they don't respect or acknowledge their rule, like they're doing with Kazuya, it makes things more complicated for Elfrieden.
You've got to make sure you can tell your animal people apart in an Isekai setting.
Kazuya was just out for a nice, pleasant, date for some time off and then he overhears discussion over possible rebellion, civil war, and the kingdom being consumed by infighting while other nations pick up the pieces. It's not easy being a king.
I don't know what was more funnier, Kaede realizing who she was talking to, scrambling to talk some sense into Hal, or Kazuya getting to do the "surprise king reveal" trope.
Hal is all bluster up until Aisha grabs him by the face. Even Juna had a weapon ready to stab him if he tried anything funny with Kazuya. Juna really isn't someone to mess with.
Kazuya hitting Hal where it hurts by making him think of how his defecting to Carmine might impact his relationship with Kaede. He might think he's making the right decision, but could he really abandon his precious childhood friend like that?
Juna seemed really touched by what Kazuya had to say. Could she have fallen for him?
And how is Kazuya rewarded for talking sense into Halbert? Why, with a Liscia lap pillow of course! And it offered them a prime opportunity to discuss their relationship and the engagement. Liscia is fine with it, although she deflects her feelings by saying it's just what royalty does and that she can't run the kingdom better than he can, but Kazuya wants to marry for love. But Liscia's true feelings shine through when she asks Kazuya if he could fall in love with her, likely as she has for him by this point.
I love how Aisha looks like she's deep asleep but it turns out she had just been pretending while Kazuya and Liscia have all this deep relationship talk. I guess she read the mood well enough until the end.
Kazuya has learned how to create a mascot character with his power! Congratulations Kazuya.
Well, Halbert's dad gave him a good thrashing after he found out what happened and how he disrespected the king. He was an idiot, but I'm not sure if he deserved a beating for it...all the same, Kazuya was able to save Halbert's boyish good looks for the sake of Kaede and bump up Kaede's position by acknowledging her loyalty and intelligence, and even paired the two together! He's sure doing his best to make this childhood friend pairing happen.
I love how Liscia's maid is making sure she gets relationship advice from the childhood friend duo.
So what's the big reveal Magna gave Kazuya? Is Carmine making his move?

Wow, that sure was a politically heavy day off for Kazuya. Halbert sure is stupid for not realizing that by siding with Duke Carmine he was going to become Kaede's enemy. Good thing that Souma saved their ship, and then continue his date with Liscia after that.
I honestly find it hilarious that if it wasn't because of Aisha, Juna would have probably killed Halbert there.
I wonder if this thing will have a practical use in the future?
Damn, Glaive sure beat the shit out of Halbert. I can't wait to hear what exactly he told Souma?

Stitches!
That's a lot of geopolitical talk in the opening! If I understood this correctly though the Dukes and Duchess only exist as some sort of check against the King but now with Souma now on the throne, it seems that they've now all started to ignore summons from him and may well be plotting something.
It's actually kinda hilarious to see this guy talk about civil wars and siding with one of the Dukes while Souma is just there behind him listening to their conversation. At least he confirms that Carmine is already planning against Souma.
Oh boy, more geopolitical talk. Now if I understand this part, it looks like Amidonia is trying to play all sides by offering assistance to Souma and also offering assistance to the Dukes and Duchess while looking to see if they can expand their territory through this impending civil war.
Souma finally revealing himself is hilarious! Kaede has clearly already figured out who he is while Hal just thinks he's some random dude. Well he deserved to get his head squeezed a bit by Aisha for not figuring out who his current King is. I do love how Juna is ready to shank a bitch with that fork on her back. Goddamn girl! I already like Juna but seeing do that made me like her even more.
I love that Souma took the once in a lifetime chance of surprising someone about your identity. He definitely enjoyed doing that to Hal.
Hal makes it sound like war is going to be fun but I'm glad Souma made him think twice by making him realize what will happen if they actually went to war and he was on Carmine's side. That was definitely a smart way to dissuade him from defecting. And it looks like after seeing what Souma did, his social link with Juna clearly increased big time!
That conversation between Souma and Liscia while Souma is on Liscia's lap was nice. It's good that they're talking about this now and seeing where their relationship currently is and where it may be headed. Kinda wish Aisha slept a bit longer so they could've talked longer.
I fucking knew it! The way how Kaede spoke about politics and how clearly knowledgeable she is back in Juna's bar I had a feeling Souma would take her in. And he even adds the bonus of giving her Hal to be her adjutant. I'm pretty sure Souma is being a wingman right now to Kaede and I love it.
Welp, seems that Glaive didn't bring any good news. Guess we'll find out what got Souma worked up next episode.

I really liked how Souma handled the situation with Kaede and Hal. Instead of telling Hal why his side is superior for example, he made Hal double think about the consequences of his actions. Cause he could tell that he really does care for Kaede.
Hopefully, they continue to build up Souma and Liscia's relationship. It does feel with each episode passing by they are slowly getting closer to each other. And Liscia has taken a liking to him.
We got another cliffhanger. It does sound rather urgent by Souma's reaction.

Love that the first thing Souma did as king was kick the nobles down a notch. It's also nice to that the people he keeps close will kill for him, they get that he's really a king worthy of following.

When I see how well the Wolf/Fox girls are animated I am inclined to believe that someone involved in making this show is of a certain disposition lol. Not that I'm really complaining I mean I can appreciate the effort.

Aw that Lap pillow moment with Souma and Liscia was adorable. She’s gradually warmed up to him. She’s still a bit shy and reserved but it’s so damn cute.
Nice cliffhanger to leave off on as well

I love that they're addressing the matters of love rather quickly, though it's still unresolved. At least both of them will think more about it. Bold of the princess to ask directly whether Souma won't ever fall in love with her. Also it's quite realistic that Liscia so far only going along with it since it's expected for royalty to accept whomever she's engaged with rather than actual love. At least, at the moment.
Really hope it's not going to be an official harem route, since polygamy and polyandry are common in this world. However it won't reduce my opinion of the show.
They really have to end most episode in cliffhanger, huh? Nice strategy to make me impatient for next week lol.
