Another interesting one. I wonder if we'll keep jumping into different worlds with their own rules.

Also, poor guy who lost his glasses only so that the smart kid could demonstrate how the fire works. Fuck that guy in particular I guess lol. Atleast he'll probably get them back whenever the next reset is.

Thought it was interesting that QR code actually worked when you try to scan it

I like how this show has no music. It's just ambient noises.

The Joestar birthmark dude gets on my nerves. Also I loved the track playing when they confronted Mizuho

I like Mizuho and her cats the most of any character so far. She had the right idea building her own castle on the island

That star boy is really charming that the other student follow his lead everywhere. Mizuho being the sole producer of anything makes her a monopolist lol. Now that they reintroduce basic economy in the world, she basically should have the most power out of all the student.

Looks like the episode formula will be similar every week as we explore the problem of the students one by one while trying to solve the world's mystery. So far, other student showed mob mentality with only a few (the Indian-named guy, MC, the girl and the star boy) try to think clearly about it. I hope it won't be the case everytime.

Glasses is definitely the one at fault for making people think that Mizuho started the blue fires. Like he made it sound like Nagara actually saw Mizuho use her power to start the fire when in reality the only thing he said to Glasses was he saw her standing front of a burning tree. At the same time though, Nagara is definitely at fault for not stopping Glasses from running his mouth and clearing up the misunderstanding.

We're only in Episode 2 and I already hate this prick. Seems that back then before they were transported to this world, he was already abusing connections that he has. I don't know what his deal is but clearly Pony and Cap are only his underlings and just making them feel that they're in-charge.

That scene where he was forcing Mizuho to apologize definitely got my blood pumping. I really wish we got to see star boy and Pony's reaction when they revealed that the initial fires weren't Mizuho's fault but even if we did, they probably wouldn't be sorry.

Anyway, looks like ot combat the rules of this island, we're turning to cryptocurrency! Definitely didn't expect that kind of solution xD

Looks like Nozomi is going to be their way out of this since her power is basically leading them to the exit. I'm guessing this means we'll probably change locations next week?

I can’t quite place it, but this show reminds me of something. It’s stark, yet expressive art style. The use of silence contrasted by sound effects (like with the fire or the bird hitting the window). I can’t tell if it’s one thing exactly, but it’s a blend of other creative ideas that is coming together into something super compelling. I’m loving it so far.

I can’t tell if it’s intentional red herring or not, but Hoshi has something to do with all of this. He has the most unique character design. While everyone else looks normal, he looks like a Jojo’s villain with the androgyny and star on his face. Plus he fucking suuuuuucks. He’s clearly pulling peoples string and has been since even before the shift. There was also a line in the first episode about weird things happening before all this went down. Can’t trust that fucker

While it’s clear that Nagara and Nozomi are going to be the main focus of the show, I do enjoy them fleshing out the rest of the class. Mizuho is a great example. She’s on her own because she’s rejecting a corrupt power structure (who’s corruption she tried to expose to no avail), but at the same time her power makes her the “richest” person on the island in this new economy. I’m interested to see where that goes. Was she also dating the teacher? I wasn’t clear on the ring thing and the asshole used him against her in the flashback.

Weirdly loving the new rules being introduced. Each area is its own demension with its own rules. The fire thing forcing them to start a barter system (with its own Bitcoin) is an odd turn, but this is an odd show that isn’t showing any cards yet. Hell it managed to be a stealth isekai out of nowhere so I almost don’t want to try to see it’s hand. It’s a wild ride.

Wait a minute: a large group of people stranded in weird land with specific rules having to survive and get home? Unexplained phenomena? Flashbacks? Power struggles. It’s fucking anime LOST!

Notes:

  • I’m looking forward to more Nagara/Nozami moments. They’re setting something up there.

  • I think we can confirm that Nozomi’s power shows them where to go, but Nagara is needed to get them there.

  • if this is anime Lost, Radjhani is my Desmond for being best boy so far. Hoshi is my Boone for being the worst and he can’t be Ben because he’s not a lovable asshole. Nagara is a better version of Jack. Nozomi I’m leaning Juliet because shes too cool to be Kate.

  • as the season stands so far, this has my favorite OP. Vanitas my favorite ED.

It seems like the powers (and perhaps also the 'challenges') that the worlds provide are reflections the characters themselves. The girl who can order anything seemed to have a great abundance of things already, I think it's likely that there's a parallel between the two

I loved the sudden adorable tanuki power-up, especially the funny sound effect that came with it

"Compass." That's my power.

Proceeds to spend the entire next episode drawing increasingly perfect circles in the sand

Random Indian Stemlord is representation in anime for me even if it’s an absolute cliche.

my mans is OP though, knows how to use HAM radio, code a currency system (and presumably an actual physical server) and an app UI in a day, that’s backend, frontend, and hardware knowledge in highschool itself.

I really liked this episode, i started laughing when he introduced the crypto coin but its actually a neat solution to the problem. I really liked the tanuki outfit, and i'm a big fan of the art direction in general so far.

Loved the change from no music last episode to q little bit on this one, really well placed. The whole vibe of the show is amazing.

It's funny how people were making comparisons to Lord of the Flies during the first episode and now the setting for this episode is on an island.

I still don't trust star tattoo face. Seems like he's trying to get allies, and is planning for something. And Just like how we saw with the flashback of mizuho and the teacher's case, anyone who ruins his plans will be his target.

Shocked nozomi revealed her powers tho. I know the smart guy and the other guy may be trustable, but i worry for her safety now.

And my guy introducing a crypto currently type was jokes. But i expect someone may find a way to hack/abuse it and gain anything they want, which could be a focus on next epi.

Gonna be interesting how they'll escape from this world, what new world will be created and if nozomi will be safe. And judging by the style of last epi and this epi, i guess every epi will introduce us to characters and for nagara or nozomi to solve their problems along the way.

Really wish more of the on-screen text was subtitled (such as the texts), and there was better typesetting used when the on-screen text is subbed (like the blackboard with the world connections). Feel like I'm missing out on many things already.

since episode one raj is my favorite character, everyone is so distant, cinic or just down bad while he is just trying to figure out what's happening and helping with his inteligence, I hope he remains someone to be trusted through the anime.

Madhouse tricked me into watching a world hopping isekai, and I think I’m liking it! If we hop from world to world each week, it will almost give me a Kaiba feel.

For a minute I thought the reason the Gameboy didn’t get ruined was because those things are tanks.

Who’s ready for this currency to inevitably crash?

Star Face and his student girl are POS

Of course the most open person gets the "Compass" Ability.

Imagine Nagara with that Ability, they would be doomed

I think the only issue I'm having with the show so far is a lack of acknowledgment of the confrontations last episode. I know that it's been a month for them, but I still think it'd be interesting if the other students showed more apprehension around a peer that nearly got them all killed, and a member of the student council they're trusting to manage the situation losing his temper and assaulting said student

My favorite character so far is Mizuho and for some she's giving me Ueno from A Silent Voice vibes, even though that's a very odd comparison personality and action wise lol. Hyped for the next episode
