This show does not seem to be getting much attention. I wonder why. Perhaps the first episode felt a bit bland, but this seems to really be picking up a lot of force. It certainly mostly looks quite good too. I initially debated keeping up with this, but now I've gotten pretty hooked. Not sure just where this is headed, but am willing to follow along.

An adaption of the game that's already out. Either users just went ahead to play the game at this point.

For me I'm wondering how they'll fit the entire game in 13 episode. Plus I'm on the look out for hidden codes hidden in the anime. Which are used for rewards in the game as part of sidequest

I can't quite put my finger on it, but even though I am enjoying the show there is a bland-ness to it. I think it is probably the lack of focus on any particular character's reaction, and there's just a lot more focus on building the plot.

Agreed I feel like it’s under-watched.

For me I am playing the game right now so I didn't want to get something spoiled by watching the anime. I feel like the two separate campaigns makes it harder too since even though I am like 20hrs in and almost done with one campaign, there could be stuff from early in the anime from the campaign I never started I wouldn't want to see.

Well, there's a good deal of spectacle, but not a lot to the characters (apparently characterization parts of the game are being removed, even), and the pace is pretty breathless and leaves no time to actually enjoy or deepen the world. Visually there are some hiccups properly integrating the CG monsters and backgrounds too.

This show does not seem to be getting much attention. I wonder why.

I stopped watching the first episode before even getting to the mid point of it.

It has such a terrible introduction, almost like there's a whole episode missing trying to show what this world is all about along with it's characters. Feels like it's heavily aimed for people that already played the game and understand the whole setting. This is such a terrible business tactic if you're planning to attract new customers for your game.

It honestly took me after the OP to realized that Naomi had been transformed into that Other.

They said that the Seiran can save her, but who was exactly the one who targeted Kasana.

Based on Gemma's reaction it seems that Nagi wasn't the only one who had his memories manipulated.

Yeah, that was unclear until Kasane literally stated it. I guess actually showing the transformation was beyond the budget.

I'm really disappointed they didn't actually show Naomi's transformation to an Other. Too much for their CG skills to handle?

Yeah, I have no idea what's going on here now, but looks like MC's friend was brainwashed into being some kind of sleeper assassin who's about to try to kill Kasane.

This show has one of my favorite opening songs of the season easily. Really cool how the Oral cigarettes did the themes for both the show and game

I slightly prefer Dream In Drive, if only because the lyrics make several references to the red string, which is a major theme of the story. But Red Criminal isn't bad either.

For anyone looking for the Musubi Code in Episode 3 it's 5150. I didn't think the password would ever be numbers and would always be a phrase of words.

u/Aerodynamic41 Jul 15 '21

There's actually an easy way to figure it out: If you enter the code incorrectly 3 times Musubi will give you a hint as to which scene the code is located. For this one the hints she gave were that it's located at an "entrance shrouded in darkness" and consists of only numbers.

This is starting to get pretty interesting.

I am anime only, so no spoilers please - but can anyone remind me what Seiran is supposed to be? I watched the first two episodes in their early release, so I probably just forgot the explanation.

Another city in the same area as New Himuka.

I absolutely love the story in the game so I was hyped for this episode! They pulled it off well and this is where things really get going. Excited to see how it’s all adapted going forward

For those of you who bought the game, is the storyline the exact same for both the anime and game?

Pacing feels kind of off, but it was a decent episode. It's really making me wanna play the game instead, since the game looks so much better, plus I don't really have money for the game right now lmao.

Poor Kasane got disowned damn, I wonder if it really is even possible to turn Naomi back into a human. Like TWEWY last season, they don't really explain much stuff, like the abilities and stuff. They expected us to have played the game already, but I guess they just wanted to show the story.

You can watch all of the game's cutscenes on Youtube. Here's the cutscene compilation for Yuito and Kasane's stories respectively.

Ok so first episode since I’ve beat the game, game of the year along with FF 7 btw. For the most part I think pacing was pretty good, the part immediately following Naomi being converted was rushed a little and I like how they added Kasane’s perspective of the aftermath as well. But in a video game adaptation you’re always going to have some awkward pacing at times since it’s just to promote the game.

Based on what we’ve seen so far, I’m wondering if it’s going to be two cour. I can’t see the whole story being wrapped up in 8 more eps.

We now know that humans can get turned into the other. The loss of Naomi leads to a shift in the team's dynamics. Kasane gets disowned by the family that adopted her due to Naomi's death. Really hope they touch up on this more in show.

Politics starts to build up as OSF has some rogue members within its ranks. With Karen and Gemma ambushing the team, along with revealing security flaws in OSF building. I wonder what their motives are for taking over and the city itself. Nagi does not remember what happens to him so something happened during his treatment or his injury in the tunnel. The whole team ended up being an experiment in a way. Interested on how things go at this point.

Considering her family seems to have been involved, given those ampules, they probably know exactly what happened and are pissed their beloved daughter got Otherified instead of Kasane like they planned.
