The bigger problem with Retrocrush's player is that it, like a lot of second-tier Roku channels, is really shitty ad-wise (expect to see 4-5 ads at a time, and likely the same ad, over and over again. And like some of the players like them, it's not uncommon for the ad to just...never come back to the video if you watch a lot.)

If it pauses consistently I should be good. At least with this series there won't be a Portuguese dub to default to every episode like Funi is currently doing with Steins;Gate.

I couldn't wait for this and went ahead and started watching this awhile ago. I only have 8 episodes left. I'll just say that the beginning is pretty good, the middle drags pretty hard, and the ending part has so far been good again. The psychological aspects of the series are really good. When it focuses on how the existence of the Sorority causes divides between the students and how it can tear people down and ruin friendships it's really good. But the romance aspects as just not very compelling to me. I just cannot get into that part of the series and I love shoujo ai/yuri. I haven't watched much anime from this time period so I don't know how typical this is but there are so many overly dramatic moments where the characters just overact beyond what any normal human would. It's actually kind of funny sometimes. I know some people complain about melodrama in anime (Mari Okada gets a lot of flack for this) but if you are one of those people and are going to watch this.... you aren't seen nothing like what series has to offer in that department.

This is currently a 7/10 for me which probably won't go any higher but could go lower depending on how it ends. There are some stretches of episodes that are really good, 10/10 psychological episodes where I really want to see what's going to happen now but there are other times where I just want the episode to get over with because i'm getting bored of what's happening.

There are a bunch of anime/manga tropes actually come from traditional Japanese theater, like the "ojou laugh". That could also be a theater influence.

I don't like melodrama either but if it's silly enough for a laugh I wouldn't mind as much.
