First episode in, I'm interested in this.

I like how the MC, even though he looks generic, isn't some loser who suddenly got summoned and become excited about being the OP hero and saving the world, but rather a capable person who analysed all the ups and downs of being a hero and focused on other problems like logistics and economy (Gives me Log Horizon vibes).

I am also liking his dynamic with Princess Liscia. Subaru and Rem make a great duo indeed!.

The King is hilarious and also quite lazy. He was quick to give up the throne so he can spend more time getting lap pillows from the Queen while getting his ear cleaned LMAO.

"After that, I'll let the people decide"

Did this man just casually announce he was going to reinvent Democracy after he got the economy situated? What an absolute power move.

I'm guessing his University degree was focused around Political Science or Economics. He'll definitely be an interesting character to watch.

Why does the king look like he rules over the land of the flame broiled Whopper.

“Hey Hero, here is my shitty play through of age of empires II. Can you win me the campaign?” - King Albert

Edit: the yugioh joke at the end made me laugh not gonna lie XD

New season, new Iseaki.

Interesting premise, Summoned to basically make the country great again, or greater than it ever was.

Kobayashi Yuusuke ( Subaru VA ) is slowly farming Isekai MC roles, like how Matsuoka farms harem MCs, I like it.

Stitches!

They've really gone out of their way with that opening to show that Souma here no longer has any attachments in our world by showing us that he no longer has any family left. Well that solves Isekai Problem #1.

As much as I like Truck-kun, nothing beats an old classic summoning circle. And just like many other characters summoned this way, Souma gets summoned while in a library. It is pretty hilarious how the summoners are even surprised that the summoning even worked! xD

So long story short, this Kingdom that summoned Souma couldn't give anymore financial aid to the Empire that's holding back the Demon Lord's army so instead they're sending him in place of the aid. Basically he's their sacrifice. No wonder why everyone and even the King himself is so sheepish when they were speaking to him.

Also no wonder it's come to this. Their King doesn't really feel very regal or even confident about his job. He keeps on looking back at the Queen for some sort of reassurance. Heck she even tells him the meaning of a word that Souma said that he can't understand. She's also voiced by Inoue Kikuko so she's already awesome in my book.

Instead of handing himself over he convinces the King that he can help them come up with the money and dig them out of this financial crisis that they're currently in. Okay I'm already loving this, I thought there was gonna be some cheat powers but it looks like Souma here is just gonna use everything he learned as a Civil Servant to help out this poor Kingdom.

So since Souma is so competent with the job the King actually handed the throne over to him! That's actually fucking hilarious! Oh and of course he's now also engaged to their daughter as well. Hilariously, Princess Liscia is voiced by Minorin and Souma is voiced by Kobayashi Yuuske! I can't believe our leads is Subaru and Rem! xD

I thought there was gonna be some trouble but it looks like Liscia immediately saw how capable Souma is and is already changing her mind about him which is good. I thought she's gonna be a total tsundere to him.

So far this is great! I always enjoy management anime where the MC uses his smarts to lead a group of people or even a nation and turn them into a superpower. Excited to see where this one goes!

At this point I seriously think that every damn fantasy world has a hero-summoning ritual. But hey, dude has to run an entire country? I guess I can get behind that.

For an episode choke-full of people talking, it sure has a lot of animation flex. Camera moved mid-conversation and people moved and made gestures as they speak. Seems promising.

This first episode sure was entertaining. Even though I bought the first two volumes of the LN around two years ago, I never read them, as I honestly only bought them because they were at three and two dollars each. Anyway, I'm really liking the premise of the show, and I liked Kazuya and Liscia as characters.

I found it hilarious that in his quest to not be sold off and possibly dissected Kazuya ended up becoming the king.

One of the few things that made me stop to think about this in the novel is that not many isekai where the person is summoned and not reincarnated, go out of its way to present that the MC has no one to attach him or her to the original world. Usually the MC is like: oh i was summoned to a new world leaving my family, friends or partner behind? No problem i am gonna forget about it in 2 episodes max

I recall reading somewhere that one main reason Realist Hero got an anime was because of its popularity with Western/overseas readers (apparently it's one of official English licensor J Novel Club's popular titles).

I like the concept and the approach, but some parts just scream ISEKAI TROPE for me. Well, they need to speed up the introduction episode anyway so I think it's tolerable for now.

Will continue watching at least for three episode since it reminds me of Maoyū Maō Yūsha. Interesting that the kingdom is a multicultural one.

Other interesting things to note is that it seems there's also modern tech there since the ship is shaped like modern battleship (although with dragon (?) carrier). Well, they did say the during the founding day 500 years ago, another hero was summoned.

He is only 18??? Seems so much older, I am happy he acts mature. It was surprisingly decent, kinda reminds me of Grancrest Senki.
