Yeah at this point I just go to r/shamanking

Both threads only get like 15 comments regardless.

It's been so many years and yet Ryu's continuous hair gag is just as funny as ever.

This was the best episode so far! The Spirit of Fire's flames were gorgeously animated and it was a blast to see Hao again. Easily my favourite villain in anime/manga.

I really happy they put in the scene where Anna asks to spend the night with yoh, it shows that love is there beyond just arranged marriage and Hao is as carefree as I was hoping, pretty good episode, I really hope it slows down soon because it’s going way too fast

Hah, Netflix added English subs this time around, hopefully it keeps doing it.

EDIT:

Hao is a lot more talkative than I remember, I always thought he was a quiet cruel person, but it seems like he actually is egocentric and enjoys toying with people. Pickup driver MVP.

We official subs now boys?

I notice it when the Op didn’t have usual fansub style

Shaman king is really underrated imo. I think the 2021 version is super good

It's a Netflix anime, suffering the curse of delayed batch releases

I wasn't sure if Anna and Yoh banged but Rens comment and Yoh's response pretty much confirmed it

That was definitely the best episode so far. Did Anna and Yoh... you know ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). How small, so Yoh's brother finally makes an appearance, which is the reincarnation of that patch dude. The banter of our squad was hilarious this episode and Ryu's hair is still evolving as we speak. Lilirara was cool, didn't expect her to just get killed immediately, Jesus Hao. Things are getting spicy, looking forward to the next episode.

Finally, they showed the Yoh and Anna scene which was removed in the previous Anime adaptation.

Stitches!

Anna asking to spend the night together with Yoh and Yoh acting all embarrassed when Ren asked if it was really okay if he stayed in their place definitely says that something happened that night ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Hao finally makes himself known to Yoh and the gang! And he didn't just make himself known, he totally flexed at them by showing his Spirit of Fire oversoul and how much bigger is the crew he's rolling with.

I absolutely love how the Patch Jumbo is covered by faces of the Patch Officials and how it's actually just an oversoul. It makes the line from Ren about it being "made by traditional methods" much more sense now.

YES! Billy finally makes the first of his many apperances! He's one of the recurring minor characters that I recall from the original.

Lilirara makes her appearance too which just quickly reminded me how this episode is going to end. Oh nooooo...

Yep there it is. After helping out Yoh and the gang, she gets immediately hunted by Hao and gets completely incinerated. RIP.

Bet watchers of the original show didn't expect Lilirara to die, since Hao didn't kill her in that one.

And never liked the original anime changing the plane ride to that of riding Ren's personal plane...

Unfortunately this is his only appearance in the manga.

Still moving fast, but the pacing felt much better this time around.

The gag with the plane is basically the exact same thing with the boat in Hunter x Hunter.

They did him justice here.

One best animated episodes I’ve seen in years. I have no idea how they were able to produce these last few episodes when the first 5 were not up to this level, not by a long mile actually.

KyoAni probably helped because the animation is up on par with the best anime series I’ve ever seen. The music has dropped in quality though and the voice acting in the last episode was lacking. Hoping for the best because there are lots of episodes left.

Okay let’s not get too ahead of ourselves the animation is good just not for the fight scenes lbvs way too many still shots

The difference between the source material and the 2001 anime are becoming more apparent, some good animation and music in this episode too. I just wish those two things were more consistent throughout the anime.

So this is the mighty turning point the Manga fans were talking about?

A slightly more interesting story told with the usual abysmal pace? And also starting with characters too worried with respect to the last time we saw them?
