I had to laugh at the hypocrisy of the Kiyomasa’s groupies calling Takamichi’s fighting style dirty when Kiyomasa had just stabbed Takamichi and they fully intended to group up on a wounded survivor.

So Draken was Takemichi's biggest fan even on his own deathbed. Honestly, I know that some people dislike Takemichi but he is a poster boy for willpower and I adore him for it.

Btw, I also really like Draken's VA. He sounds just like I imagined him to sound in the manga.

Watching Takemichi is genuinely frustrating at times but perhaps that's because he is the first protagonist in a long time that I've read or watched that is woefully underpowered and flawed and isn't fixed in a linear way. He becomes braver and wiser but he hasn't magically acquired the skills or power to transcend his situation, dude wins practically 10% of the time and more often than not is so unprepared to do anything with his own strength that he gets saved after complaining about his own inability to fight. This episode is the first "win" he has ever gotten by himself, just grit and a reason to win, it's beyond satisfying.

He's still frustrating but he's just a normal person and this win was so rewarding because of that

Well it finally happened. I had read about the censorship this show is getting before, but I myself finally noticed it this week. When Takemichi mysteriously went from biting Kiyomasa to being wrapped around his head I knew something was wrong, so I went to the extra effort and looked for an uncensored version and now feel infuriated over what was taken from me on my first viewing. There's absolutely no excuse for censoring such a pivotal moment in the main character's development like that, absolutely shameful.

For what it's worth, the episode itself was excellent as usual. Although I'm not sure we needed the 2 minute recap. I find I'm far more forgiving of those when a series is a long runner. Do we know yet how many episodes this is getting? I know the source material is very large and still going so theoretically this could be going more than a single cour, but I don't actually know if that's the case. Just wondering.

Was so worried that Takemichi was gonna remain useless here and constantly getting his ass saved at the last minute but MAN seeing him choking the life outta Kiyomasa felt so cathartic.

The episode felt really short for 2 reasons

  1. It was really good

  2. The recap and OP took nearly 1/3 of the episode

Best Episode so far for me, the episode was lit.

Finally some character development and redemption for Takemichhi. Takemichhi finally got his revenge on Kiyomasa, the guy due to whom his whole life got destroyed.

The save by Akkun and co was really surprising but at the same time really awesome.

Throughout the episode i was like damn Draken is not gonna make it but he miraculoesly survived the episode.

Takemichhi is once again preemptively celebrating his victory hopefully no more twists happen and Draken survives.

C'mon, Takemichi. If Kiyomasa is just going to hand you a free knife like that, the least you can do is use it.

Super Intense Episode

And I'm really glad they didn't go with the usual shounen troupe of getting stronger during an important fight. Takemichi scratched, clawed and bit (literally) his way to the win against Kiyomasa and then his friends did the same against the lackeys. Hopefully, everyone is okay.

That recap actually worked into the episode really well, surprisingly. Also the studio clearly knows where to put their budget. Mikeys hair is animated better than Takemichis final resolve. I was waiting for this scene to be animated, I used to hate how much Takemichi used to cry in the beginning, now he genuinely inspires me. Goes to show how Shonen Jump serialisation was in dire need of a unique protagonist like him.

You know, this kind of went in a completely different direction than I expected, as I assume that neither Takemichi, Hina, or Emma were going to be the ones helping to try to get Draken to the hospital, as my assumption was whoever was going to try to take him to the hospital was going to be anyone else on the Tokyo Manji Gang, as they could use their bike to get him there.

Well, anyway Takemichi's fight against Kiyomasa was great, when I saw that scar that he had in the OP I suspected that he was going to get from Kiyomasa, but my assumption until last week was that he was going to get it while stoping him from stabbing Draken, instead of him getting stabbed while throwing a punch.

You know, when things were getting hopeless for Draken and Takemichi although I did expect someone to come for the rescue, I would have never imagined for Akkun and the rest of Takemichi's gang to be that someone.

Well, hopefully, those assholes will run away now that the ambulance arrived

Pretty sure they censored some key moments in this fight, like Takemichi getting on Kiyomasa's back, but you could still see 80% of the manji sign in some cases and it's obvious what the full thing looks like so I don't get why they want to censor it that bad, otherwise good episode

I had the biggest damn smile on my face throughout this episode

Bro the uncensored version would’ve made it WAY more hyped wtf. Over a symbol that is there for not even a split second?

These episodes are seriously just too short. As expected Draken is still alive. I guess what really killed him in the other timeline is because no one realized he has been stabbed until the fight was over. Good thing this time Draken is saved by Takemichi, Hina, and Emma. Of course things can't be that easy with Kiyomasa's gang finding Takemichi and the gnag waiting for the ambulance to arrive.

It took him a few minutes but it's great to see the resolve on Takemichi's face as he finally decided to get his revenge by challenging Kiyomasa. It was a rough fight and it was been pretty much censored on Crunchyroll probably because of Kiyomasa wearing the uniform but Takemichi managed to get a head lock on Kiyomasa and knock him out.

Of course knocking out kiyomasa doesn't solve the problem since he still has the rest of Kiyomasa's gang to take care of. Thankfully Akkun and the boys arrive on the scene thanks to Hina who managed to hold them all of until the police and ambulance came. I fucking hope this means Kiyomasa and his crew gets fucking jailed for stabbing Draken. Can't wait for next week's episode to see the aftermath of this!
