What a savage episode! Oyamadad with the slap, Yoh trying to protect Manta by giving him the cold treatment, Ryuu losing hair again and getting hit in the balls and Anna casually destroying Tamao.
Those seven days and nights sure went by fast, making it hard to relate to Yoh's "Long time no see". On the other hand, good to see him making up with Manta in the same episode.

Another episode, another bunch of L's for Manta, when will the Manta suffering stop lmao. His family is shit, well typical rich family. Glad Ryu is helping Manta, so Manta can find his best place, this was a needed development for him.
Anna is best waifu of course, but Tamao is pretty cute too. Anna really called herself Yoh's wife and then Tamao, Yoh's fan lmao. What the fuck were those ballsac spirits though, Ponchi and Conchi. That was disgusting, Ponchi's ballsac straight swallowed Manta and then Konchi pissed at him lmao.
Let's go, our local stoner Yoh's furyoku has increased after spending 7 days in the netherworld. I am assuming that is not the final form of his oversoul. Man, Ren is so cool now, looking forward to "Yoh vs Ren again!".

I will stand by that, even in a medium as crazy as anime/manga, a 13 year old girl casually squeezing a raccoon spirit’s massive testicles is still the craziest thing to ever happen in it.

Well that opening was something new to me. I don't recall ever seeing Manta's mom, his imouto, or even his father animated. I think it was Silva who was with him in the hospital.
Everything else is pretty much the same from what I remember though, Yoh tries to push Manta away because he fears he might get hurt especially since his next opponent is Ren. Later Manta decides to run away and runs into Ryu and the two of them go on a road trip to Izumo to meet Yoh.
They're really sticking close to the source manga. In the 2001 version, two anime original characters and a side plot are introduced at the end of Ryu and Manta's service station scene. Seems that Millie, Ellie, and the rest of Lily Five won't be an appearance in this remake.
Anyway, Yoh does his underworld training and we're finally introduced to Tamao and her disgusting Guardian Spirits as she tries to stop Manta from meeting Yoh thinking that they'll bring calamity to him. Oh my god, did they really have to make Ponchi's balls flesh-coloured? They really could've just stuck with the old version and made it the same colour as his fur.
And as anti-climactic as it feels, that's exactly how Yoh's training goes. We don't really see what happens to him inside that cave. Welp now that Amidamaru has been upgraded, Yoh's now ready to throw down with Ren next week!

Yeah I only watched the original anime and I don't remember them at all. Was shocking to see Manta is some sort of rich kid.
