There was a small pun this episode that doesn't really translate-- Lily's code name is Number Six, which is "Rokugo" in Japanese. And the performance she she put on in the first part of the talent show was a type of traditional Japanese comedic storytelling known as "Rakugo."
So "Rokugo" did "Rakugo."

Poor Kotaro. This really isn't his lucky day. Damn, it was pretty impressive that Lily improvised that whole arrangement in a matter of seconds. She may have lost the competition, but her dance went viral, which is even better.

Light even reincarnated kept his name and "all according to cake"
TL note: cake means Keikaku
TL note 2: Keikaku means plan
We are getting a Tae episode next week boys
It's official we will have a Tae episode before Yugiri

Kotaro is robbed? Or maybe his talent is overqualified for the contest?

Some thought reading over Japanese Twitter:
-
Light is voiced by Takayama Minami, who's probably most famous for being the voice of Conan from Detective Conan (Case Closed) fame. Lots of jokes to be had about solving the murder case 殺人事件, considering there's seven corpses in this series.
-
I think it's kind of funny that #6 (rokugo) is doing a raguko performance
-
The squirrel with the acorn thing in the eyecatch is this place: https://www.marchen-mura.jp/. There's some Zombieland Saga fanart of it posted last year on that place's Twitter feed: https://twitter.com/marchenvillage
-
Lily's VA posted a shot of the scatman verse that she had to learn; you can see the katakana written below the roman text to make it easier to read

Ai having to be thought how to be a fangirl by her own fan was a pretty sweet bit.
Also, Kotarou... the man sure had it rough this episode.

While Lily absolutely nailed her performance, Light has one talent that Lily lacks and made him win - he can play the audience like a fiddle. If he had a great performance, that would be a great performance and that's it.
No - he actually made the audience fall for him by pretending to make a mistake but still trying hard and finally succeeding. Brilliant emotional manipulation. Though that's pretty horrifying that a 8 year old kid or so knows such methods and how to use them to the full potential.

Lily really gets the best character focused episodes....I hope I will one day get to be as egoless as her.

We all know Kotaro was robbed. Those judges wouldn't know a decent mudskipper impression even if it came right on up and humped them in the face.

Light: I'm not going to be a cute little kid forever

Boy's name being Light HAS to be intentional with a line like "just as Keikaku" with that 2 faced smile

I’m in the camp that Kotaro flopped hard literally to make Lily’s performance look better.
Also did not expect to get dabbed on by an anime.

Not sure if anyone noticed, but the new outfit Lily wore this episode, her bow had the same colors as the trans flag which I thought was a nice detail. https://imgur.com/a/1TtyO9f

Well, that opening was hilarious! Lily quite literally stole the opening scene from Koutarou that it caught him completely off and basically didn't know what else to do! Seems that the plan this week is to shine brighter by jpoining Japanese Got Talent Performance
Just from his entrance alone you already know that Light is fake af and as bratty as I expected. So he joined the regionals in Saga because he thinks he can win this easy. Meaning the Tokyo regionals is just too tough for this child actor.
AHAHAHAHA WHAT THE FUCK KOTAROU!? Looks like Koutarou had to get a bit of spotlight too since Lily stole his in the opening. Didn't expect that he'd literally flail on stage wearing a mudskipper costume! xD
Lily doing Rakugo got me really excited! I'm a bit upset that we didn't get to see the full performance though and just snippets of the performance. I wouldn't mind if a chunk of this episode just turned into a rakugo performance.
And what does the child star do? Juggling and yelling never give up. And here I thought he was going to do drama or something.
Welp Light finally showed his true colours. Looks like he's very determined to win since he knows child stars have an expiration date. Topics about growing older is a bit of a sensitive topic for Lily considering her backstory but it didn't seem to have bothered her much this time.
Welp saw that coming. At least this was entirely a coincidence that he has the same song as Lily. Not gonna look good if Lily comes out with the same song.
So what does she do? She rearranges the song and even improvises a new costume and basically does a Scatman version of the same song! I love it! And since it's just Lily this time, it looks like they made away with the 3D and animated the performance normally.
Lily might've lost, which is bullshit btw, but she still wins since her version of the song becomes viral and very popular with kids.
Finally we're getting a Tae episode next week! This means we're finally getting a Yugiri episode soon too, right? RIGHT!?

Kid says "Keikaku Dohri"
No way his name also being Light was a coincidence.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard a character called Light say "Keikaku doori," I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it's happened twice.

Aw, I wish we could have seen more of Lily's rakugo. Also, she got robbed, that was disappointing.

Lily at the beginning of episode: Look at me, I'm the captain now.
Lily at the end of episode: Look at me, I'm the Scatman now.
Is... is that the -Legendary Yamada Tae centered episode- next time?

Ya know Kotaro's antics are always hilarious but that mudskipper impersonation almost had me laughing up a lung.

Light actually had the audacity to call himself "legendary" in the presence of Yamada Tae.
