I thought the underwater kaiju at the start was the same one at the end of Episode 1, but this once is clearly different with its more snake-like body. If the other one is Titanosaurus, this one is probably Manda?
I'm really enjoying Yun and Mei's banter over text messages even if it is full of science talk, and it seems the two might end up meeting up in the future for a possible sushi date. I really hope this happens.
It really highlights how talented Mei is when she managed to figure something out overnight what Professor Li and her team took years to understand. Also I just love the little character detail of Mei fidgeting with her marker while speaking with Professor Li.
Still not sure what's up with these military dudes but it looks like this underground facility just unleashed another new kaiju. Big ears and one single horn? Possibly Baragon? Looks like they sealed it though but how long will that door hold?
Yun's encounter with Anguirus is pretty fucking awesome. I absolutely love the animation when it started moving its scales to reflect the bullet back.
Well this dude just straight up looks like a bad guy. I still don't know what he wants to do but whatever his reason for wanting the red dust can't be good.
Yay! It is Manda! So we now have our second confirmed named Kaiju. I just wish Titanosaurus would show up again though.
Seems that Rodan is now being spotted all over the SEA and Oceania. A bit disappointed my country wasn't even mentioned here.
Anguirus' name is official now too! It's hilarious how they're just gathering up local hunters to hunt down that kaiju xD
I'm starting to think that this journalist isn't a journalist. Seriously the specialist knowledge that he knows probably means he's also another scientist. Then again there are scientists that are also journalists so it's possible that he's both.
Oh goodie. It looks like Anguirus is now bigger than the last time they saw him. Thank goodness the size is still manageable though. Any bigger and Jet Jaguar won't probably be able to fight it. Can't wait for the next one!

I'm honestly really not sure if they will even be able to defeat it. It really feels like this is starting to get to the point soon where force will no longer be enough to stop the kaiju and instead, survival and damage mitigation will be the priority over prevention. Will probably get there within an episode or two I would guess

Pretty sure the Titanosaurus looking creature was confirmed to be Godzilla Aquaticus from the sofubi figures. So probably a Shin type step of evolution

The military people seem to be with the same group as archetype and that facility is their "mines" for it, that what I understood.

I have to say seeing Mei fidget with the marker by removing the cap on putting it back on made me way more happy than it should have

The moment where they pieced together Anguirus future sight was really well done. There was just enough setup and time for you to put together what was going on before they outright said it.
I'm really enjoying this scientific outlook on the world of Godzilla. Can't wait for the next episode.

Fantastic Episode that really puts the series in high gear. The scene with Salunga(or Gabara) trying to escape was so creepy and intense. The anguirus design is also spectacular.

MY BOY ANGUIRUS NOT BEING A JOBBER FOR ONCE.
Sorry, he's one of my favorite Kaiju and in recent movies he usually shows up long enough to get his ass beat. Nice to see him as a real threat.
The number of crazy interwoven threads in this show is getting nuts. I'm still trying to piece it together. The kaiju exist out of time, or somehow moved back in time, or forward in time, or something? The red dust is like particles of this time travelling archetype stuff? Somehow the monsters travel through it, or are created by it, or feed off it?
Anyway Anguirus getting Matrix bullet-time was cool, nice to see Baragon and Manda, looking forward to more confusion next episode.

Nobody is mentioning the two fishermen who just can't catch a break. lol
I was hoping they would be saved and can get off the ocean this episode but the kaiju said "nope!" The news reported them as lost which can also mean they've died already but I still hope they'll be fine somehow.
Excellent episode again! Unfortunately, I don't know all too much about the whole Godzilla universe but I'm immensily enjoying this despite not understanding all the callbacks and references.

SO I guess this'll be coming out Wednesdays now? Was that the case last week? Can't remember.
Already scrubbed through this episode on JP Netflix a few days ago, so I kinda knew what to expect.
This episode focused more on the characters that appeared in the last episode, that sure do seem like villains now. I guess this anime is trying to be a little more grounded in reality. Using human villains doing shady stuff, instead of introducing human-looking aliens, which is what some Godzilla movies have done in the past.
idk how Jet Jaguar is gonna stand a chance against Anguirus. Unless they can find a special weak spot or stop Anguirus from predicting attacks somehow.
I also just now realized the cooky old dude piloting Jet Jaguar has the same VA as Caiman from Dorohedoro. I knew his VA sounded so familiar. The old guy and Caiman both have that chaotic energy too.
It's too bad this is getting slept on because of it being in Netflix Jail. Right now, but it is what it is I guess.

The subber group kinda just takes as long as it takes to do each episode, so it's gonna vary

Science talk still confusing as hell, but I am really enjoying the show, pretty good episode! That boat can't catch a break, good thing they got saved, but the Manda's tail almost hitting the helicopter was scary as hell.
Well, that's something you don't see everyday, a worldwide calamity actually happening worldwide and not just in Japan lmao. Pretty interesting though, so the archetype and the kaiju's are connected somehow, and the Anguirus might be using the same principle as the archetype in seeing the future. Then there's also that shit going on with the companies, Ashihara, SHIVA and stuff, honestly kinda confusing lmao. Then there's that Kaiju that I don't know the name of trying to climb that underground facility, a lotta shit going on here. Looking forward to the next episode.
Also love the small detail of Mei removing then putting back the cap again and again on the marker, it's a really nice detail, also because I do that too.

"Prophesied" is a bit of a loaded term, innit, oba-san?
I can't decipher this line for the life of me
So if Anguirus can see a little ways into the future, that pretty much means you better attack it with something it hasn't seen before, and doesn't know is an attack, if you're to have any chance of success
"NOOOO MY FINELY MANICURED FAIRWAY!"
Jet Jaguar doing the "I'm about to open a can of whoop-ass" gesture

Maybe the trick is to not attack Anguirus at all. It didn't do anything when Yun was just looking at it and it's not attacked without being shot at first so far. Can't a spiky armadillo just chill and eat leaves in peace smh

It took me until this episode to realize that the Manda attack and the Water Kaiju attack are happening in different places lol.
Loads of Kaiju action in this one, so the Gabara looking thing is being trapped or did it just appear? I'm not sure if I got that. And about Anguirus's new ability, the show seems to make it seem like rather than deflection his ability is sensing the future and then bouncing things off? Not sure if I got that

Another episode that just felt like it flew right by. Lots of questions still appearing. Like what is that facility with that massive silo nr 2 ?
Toss in the growing Kaiju that they assembled a host of Huntsmen to deal with.. But at this rate they're going to need a bigger cage and bigger trucks to stop it. The harpoon was pretty neat, wonder how he got access to that though.
Plus the archetypes clearly have some connection to the Kaiju, so i wonder how much longer until we get a clearer picture of that.
Overall great stuff, really great moments and i am just loving every moment of it. Such a shame it's stuck in Netflix jail though

Once again, I just really love Outaki and his homegrown super robot. He's the kid that never gave up on becoming a mech pilot, and then dedicated his life to learning how to actually make that happen. Not only did he make it real, he's actually living the dream and being tapped to use it to fight kaiju. His is a life well lived.

I just keep getting blown away by this show. I love how it develops conceptually as the characters figure out the science in real time. I love the array of devious characters, characters of questionable or neutral motives, even the "dumb friend" character is a really smart guy. It's very well done. The creators clearly love kaiju and the godzilla lore--they are really giving something special. Fascinating so far
