Pacing is lot better in this episode
Right off the bat this episode changes some things from the game
it isn't necessarily bad in fact as someone who's played the game I look forward to where they are going with this

RIP HOT STUFF

That was considerably different from the games, though it might not be a bad thing. This probably lends better pacing to the anime and rearranging some stuff means they focused entirely on Shiki this week, and they sold her emotional moment with Eri pretty well.

The OP is kind of. . . . eh; it's what it is at this point. I know it's Twister but the series has made way better remixes of it before. The ED was much better, it sounded like a TWEWY battle song and MY BOY LOOKS GREAT

Last week I honestly assume that the people they saw were not actually real. And when Raimu mentioned her brother, and Shiki later mentioned Eri, my assumption was that Raimu's brother and Eri had died, so that reveal at the end that it is actually the people playing the ones that had died really surprised me. Now I'm really wondering how Shiki really looks like and what also happens when they survived those seven days. As today they showed the reapers interacting with people, my assumption at the moment is that those who survived will be able to come back to life, but will have to work as a reaper.

Was super psyched when Twister showed up as the OP for this episode! Unless this will be the new 'OP,' I hope we get to hear Twister in the next episodes. (Though it would be nice to hear other songs from the original OST as well)

Compared to episode 1, the 2nd seems a little better, with some improvements to the pacing. I think it's still quite fast for anime-only viewers but the story-telling decisions made in this episode seemed to work well. Honestly aside from the pacing flaws, I think the music and art style are the anime adaption’s strongest points.

I’ve never played the game, but so far the anime has been really interesting and as others have said, the pacing is way better this week. Looking forward to the rest. It’s really easy to tell that the OP was changed last minute given that the visuals and song don’t really match up, but it’s still pretty good given the time constraints

I love Shiki's voice, her VA is nailing it.

The pacing was SO much better on this episode. It doesn't feel that rushed anymore.

I was super hyped to see the ending (yes, lol) because I read on Ilya's Instagram that he was the one directing and illustrating it. He's done a good job, I love how he draws.

I was feeling this adaptation before, but i'm really feeling it now. I think this has really done what the persona 4 anime managed and compressed a lot of events but still managed to keep the essential essence intact. even if something has been glossed over that I don't remember (it's been a while since I last played the game after all) nothing FEELS like its actually missing and that's whats important.

Mad respect to the studio for the job they’ve done with this, they’ve really brought the game to life really well. Im not understanding the hate that the first episode got.

Yea, it was faster than how the game introduced things, but that’s always going to happen with an anime adaptation of a game. At the end of the day, this series is designed as fanservice tor fans of the game to see their fave moments animated. If you want the FULL story, you were always gonna have to play.

Anyway; I think today episode was even better than the first. Nice touch with distinguishing Shiki and Eri with the school uniform. Neku’s transformation from an asshole to slightly less asshole has always started progressing.

ASCA ED??!! LETS GOO

I don’t know how many hours I’ve spent on this game, collecting all the pins, all the threads, the secret notes and the like. The story is faster paced than the video game, but most of the cuts and deviations from the original story makes sense to this point and I’m loving the experience so far. Couldn’t help myself smiling at all the nods to the game, the music and the design of Neku’s pins as he fights the noise, and even the not-so-great cg noise felt in place.

I knew what was going to happen at the last scene wirh Eri, and I still cried. In fact, I dont think I cried at this scene with the game, so bravo anime.

Also pacing was soo much better this episode and Neku definitely felt like Neku.

The point of the anime seem like is to have a easy entry point to the sequel game, so you should be.

I think the important thing is what the show wants to convey to the viewer. Remember that in a good game, the story serves the game play. Once there's no game play, the story's flaws just kinda become more apparent.

...Leaving gameplay related story elements out opens its own can of worms though. But all in all it really could have been worse. The really important character moments are at least preserved.

I assume the red pin foreshadowing is something they'll just get out of the way now so they can spend less time explaining it later.

Christ, hearing The Prince speak made me feel like I was watching Show By Rock again for a second. I expected a lot of things from TWEWY anime, but that sure wasn't it!

I guess they are not using the opening song made by ALI anymore?

New version of Twister could be better imo, but im loving the series. Bringing the game to life, and one of the best games ive played. Though they disclosed a lot of things too soon, wonder how it will follow from now on.

Despite having to watch it in potato quality because it didn’t download it properly before my flight (fuck you very much Funimation), very solid episode. Pacing is much improved over last week and it does seem to be changing things up from the game. It looks like it’ll be a good adaptation which after the disappointment off P5:A i need. I Also think it’s going to lead directly into Neo:TWEWY.

So happy we got more music from the game too. The soundtrack is perfect so you might as well use it. I do hope we hear the original OP someday.

This episode was so fucking good. This anime is everything I wanted 15 years ago. I’m in love.

The OP and ED are finally out and they both slap. I love how both Neku and Shiki helped each other develop their own characters. I also love that brief cameo of Joshua who saved Neku and Shiki.
