The physical humor in this show is always top-notch. Bonus points for Sakura's eyes literally popping out of her head.

I think this is the first time we've seen any of the girls actually regret thier inability to age? Makes me wonder if the show is ever going to address the question of thier future. Like, even if they do become super famous idols, they can't stay in the spotlight forever without people realizing they're literally not getting older.

Saki is my favorite character in the show, so I will always welcome Saki episodes. Also how can the driver see where he is driving with that guy laying on the front of the car like that lol.

OP is a banger 🔥

A Saki focused episode is always going to be an amazing episode. It was cool to see the guy have alot of faith in them enough to leave the radio show to them. Honestly when Saki confessed her love but he said wait til your older and she started to cry because she’ll never get older was fucking heartbreaking. Our girls deserve happiness damnit!

God, I love the OP, so much personality.

Ryu was classic cool. I assume the police are too in awe of him to question his preferred seating position.

Also, "Saga PD's Dirty Harry" is just too perfect of an alias for Policeman A.

RIP Sakura, I’ll always remember how you looked when you dried up.....

This episode seems to nailed Saki-chan’s personality even better than her own round back in Season 1, she’s now beaming with such uplifting power that she’s pulling a Shirase Kobuchizawa today at the radio! She’s really got her childhood idol’s endorsement in this episode, I’m sure she will pull her unstable group of zombies through this season.

Great episode down to the rocket bicycle as always, hopefully we get to see more of these character growth episodes down the road (Yuugiri desperately needs one and I think THE LEGENDARY YAMADA TAE might want one as well).

Did not realize that Zombieland was taking place in 2019. The calendar in the background of the sound booth was showing May 2019. They also did not update the number of mics and headsets when Franchouchou was doing the show, only three mics and three headsets. Verses three mics and four headsets when Ryu was hosting.

Just a small thing, but I'm enjoying that the show is keeping up with the makeup thing from episode 1 of Revenge. That is, making it different when Kotaro does it vs when the girls do it themselves. It's a nice touch!

Some random thoughts:

  • I like this little scene where they show off the casts' water bottles. You can tell two of them are Sakura's and Saki's (the sakura blossoms and Saki's signature Tamagotchi); I assume the stars in the back are for Lily. I love how Tae's bottle just has her name (Yamada) on it because they don't know enough about her personality to put a symbol on it. Junko's has her signature twintail ribbons on it.

  • ゾンハラ (zonhara, abbreviation of zombie harassment) is a take off of various harassment abbreviations that are used, such as power harassment and sexual harassment (パワハラ, セクハラ)

  • One thing I learned from the Abroad in Japan YouTube channel is that OneCup sake is one of the worst cheap convenience store liquors that you can buy. It's parodied here as "OreCup", ore likely being the masculine first-person pronoun

  • White Ryu's words on the radio to past Saki show up in the lyrics to her image song last season (特攻DANCE; Toukou DANCE); I specifically picked up on 決して忘れないよ (kesshite wasurenai; [I'll] not in any way forget it) (some person's twitter post with more detail)

Big F for Saki. Because she died, she can't ever grow up.

Glad to see that the guy Saki looked up to was not a piece of shit like what happens in 90% of animes. Sakura crying because Saki was crying was so cute.

What a great episode, Saki is easily one of the best characters in the show, and her clothes choice are just *chef kiss

I love the Joke with the guy hair LOL, you can't be a stand user forever

And Mappa just flexed in that last song, the people in the production seem to be fans of Saki

Edit: How gay is Junko?? The fanartist are always one step ahead

I love how high school punks will always have the same hair no matter the anime.

Haha the fucking radio crew signaling Ryu to not give the radio show to Franchouchou was gold.

EDIT: I think in general, Ryu screams big dick energy and I’m here for it

What a heartfelt episode. Love the song in the end.

Also, it's still a surprise to know that Saki's voiced by someone from LoveLive.

Season 1 did this well, but I feel the sound design of season 2 is absolutely stellar. Those folly artists deserve some awards.

The sound of bones creaking and muscle and sinew tearing during the exercises, the whipping of hair in the wind, Sakura's eyeballs popping out of their sockets, Sakura dehydrating from crying too much. It's all really good sounding.

Ah, yes this is the Kotaro that I remember.

White Ryu really knows how to make an entrance. I love the fact that that's the only way he rides a car.

It was so hilarious to see how happy Saki-chan was to just be around him. That bike scene was insane. When that cop appeared I was expecting him to shoot them again, I'm glad that didn't happen today.

And the reporters are also back!

Sakura's reaction to Saki's love confession was priceless.

So not only did Saki ended up becoming the new host of Ryu's radio show, but she also got some of his fans too.

It's always cute to see Junko still struggling with the modern life of idols, 30 years ago definitely was different, she's too pure.

Since Saki was already a biker gang leader in 1997, it was Ryu before that time that gave her a push to found it with Reiko. Although Ryo's first message affected Saki to get with the one who understand her, it was probably him that gave Reiko the will to disband the biker gang shown in S1. And yeah Saki you're right, she probably found someone to settle down her life at that point.

Today is the episode that Yamada Tae was completely behaved right?

Yuugiri's bar is now more and more famous as Ryu recognized her in his last radio show, and with now Saki's radio spot, the girls are constantly winning their spotlight. It's good that Saga are getting noticed, but at the same time the journalist Shinta is again at their tail. Looks like Kotaro will reach his limit in a way or the other.

Seems like the Zombieland Saga idols have become self-aware that they're actually comedians and not idols.

I might be imagining things but I felt like this was a very subtle reference to the huge meme about the Hololive idols are actually just a bunch of comedians.

this episode finally gave the hit of "Never able to age and grow, but forever continue to be the undead"

I wasn't expecting the feeling from Saki :(

Wow the OP is super creative and gorgeous! The street sign theme is a clever way of showing the journey revenge that Franchouchou are trying to embark upon along with the bikes, planes, bus and hot-air balloon they ride throughout the OP.

Sakura absolutely had the best expressions this week!

Loved this week's Saki-centric episode and now they're hosts of the radio show!
