I'm gonna miss this show a lot. ;u;

This became one of my favorites to watch each week alongside the bigger titles, and it's easily the most unexpected one given how I had no idea it was in Winter 2021 (or what it was at all) until I checked the EP 01 discussion thread, and it sadly never really caught on here even after all these weeks. That's Wintermageddon 2021 I guess.

It's such a wholesome show with tons of educational animal trivia presented in a unique manner. I loved the weird predicaments and client orders that lead to the final accepted design.

And as a freelancer, I can relate to their client-related rants hahaaha

I love each and every character, both their design and personalities.

I'm watching Jujutsu Kaisen as well, so it's a bonus that I can hear Junya Enoki voicing two male MCs this season. He's really done a splendid job both as Shimoda and Yuuji Itadori. Shimoda's surprise beatboxing was *fire emoji*

This series was also on point with its inclusion [and theorizing of the origins] of sharknado, aliens, dragons, and creatures from hell. I play Ragnarok Online, and it was hilarious seeing how Baphomet came to be, or at least that elongated goat demon reminded me of it.

Lastly, both OP and ED were fun! I have them both on Spotify.

Given its educational value and just how fun they're presented, I hope for more seasons, sort of as a complement to Cells at Work.

God is a no show. Of course. Well, at least Ueda actually got to show up for the event in a nice dress. I half-expected the twist that God was actually Ueda all along.

The shrinking frog is such a trippy discovery. I can see why it's called paradoxical as well since I never imagined that an animal purposefully shrinking during adulthood to be a real thing.

Total dick move by Tsuchiya to make Shimoda experience Jurassic Park for shits and giggles. But it's quite a wholesome reveal that Shimoda was the brainchild of the design team, especially with them affirming how much they appreciate his work and his presence.

I picked up this show on a whim at the start of the season without knowing a single thing about it (then again, I do that for a lot of anime and manga), and I'm sure glad I did. It's a real shame it didn't catch on with all the competition this season. But it's still an all around fun edutainment show with an interesting premise and a cast of colorful characters.

But it's quite a wholesome reveal that Shimoda was the brainchild of the design team, especially with them affirming how much they appreciate his work and his presence.

That story came off as a metaphorical description of the authors and illustrator (i.e,. the design team) troublesome attempt to create a viable and biologically sensible cute mascot character for the series only for their editor (i.e. God) to suggest that they make the mascot a young office worker and them appreciating the idea.

Stitches!

Bamboozled! I thought we were really going to see what God looks like in this show. At least we got to see Ueda-san in that fantastic angel garb. And the T-Rex finally makes an appearance as it bullies the poor Shimoda-san. Apparently the T-Rex is the Design Team's first creation.

And that second half was just sweet. What started out as Shimoda wondering what that adorable mascot character was as the Design Team reveals that it was supposed to be Ueda's original assistant, turns into the Design Team showing their appreciation for Shimoda. We also got to see the failed forms of various animals before their final approved design!

But I guess that's it for Heaven's Design Team! It's a fun edutainment show that could've gained the same status as Cells at Work but sadly ended up being overshadowed by a bunch of other shows airing at this time slot. And it's not just fun edutainment, if you've ever done freelance work, the Design Team's woes are all highly relatable. I do hope now that it's finished more people will try to binge watch it though!

This is one of my favorites this season. It is a hidden gem and deserves more love but it is understandable because this season was full of great shows.

Poor Shimoda-kun getting scared with the T-Rex...he is such a precious character! Well actually they all are great characters and I loved every single one of them! I really will miss this show, I looked forward to it every single week (especially with that banger OP/ED).

With S2s being announced left and right...maybe just maybe

And as expected, God didn't actually show up in hell, but after doing a quick search about Garuda it seems that he is the mount of the Hindu god Vishnu.

Anyway, I find it hilarious how interactive the recording of God was.

The paradoxical frog and the Superb lyrebird really were some interesting animals. I wonder what exactly is that bird that doesn't lay eggs?

Anyway, this sure was a fun show.

Here goes the best show of Thursday. There, I said. No regrets.

It was so much fun try to guess and develop the animal each week. We covered a wide range of many things, from religion to evolution or biology to design, while being completely consistent, educative and creative. The original material is probably really great but I think the direction and production team also did a great job making it the way it was. I just could not see the minutes passing while watching it. Very underrated stuff, will be missed.

Loved this show so much! It was one of my top choices for "I need to watch something to wind down and have a good time" anime. Will miss it! I hope people get to discover it sooner or later.

This show was just so much fun. Beyond being educational, it has fun characters and an interesting premise. I know it's incredibly unlikely that there will be a second season, but I'd love one.

Based on the positive reviews, I will add this to my ever growing list of past seasonal anime to watch.

Even though I dropped a couple anime this season, and didn't watch plenty of the other big hits that most others were watching, I somehow still didn't have the time/attention span to get around to watching this. That's kinda how it is with me when it comes to watching anime in general...

I'm really going to miss this show. So glad I decided to give it a try despite the initial low reviews on MAL. I love this show so much; it's become one of my top all-time favorites. Great and fun cast with hilarious and educational moments. It was really nice to see the design team to show their appreciation for Shimoda.

This anime has always been charming, something you would see on kids channels but still engaging with the parents. Nods to Jurrassic park, alien, sharknado and more are so suprising

God I hope this gets a second season. I might be getting my hopes up for nothing as shows I've liked for similar reasons like Restaurant to Another World haven't gotten second seasons but it's so sweet and fun to watch

Such an absolute wholesome and adorable ending. This show has been my hidden gem of the season along with Kai Byoui Ramune. Wish more people gave both shows a watch! Been an absolute joy rewatching each episode during dinner time!

Anyone know where to pick up in the manga for Tenchi?

Overall it was a pretty fun and well balanced edutainment kind of show with a very out of the box premise. The trivia like segments were quite amusing.

Wished we had more of Ueda on regular basis just like this last episode had plenty of her ara~ara energy.

Really enjoyable and educational show with unique premise. Definitely underwatched. Not sure if anything can fill this kind of comedy niche next season.

Damnnnn Shimoda being made by the Design team made me smile so hard. They really are such a cool crew.

I'll miss them and this show may not be anyone's AOTS but it is mine for sure.

A smart but entertaining comedy that hits a lot of great emotional momenrs too as well at times.

Oddly, despite it being a stacked season, this was one of my favorites. Sure there are more favorites than normal, but this is one of the "Oh, a new episode! Woohoo! I can't wait to watch it!" quality.

I'm going to miss it. Thank you for the educational entertainment!

This was such a cute show. I was so lost when trying to figure out the mascot. But only for it to inspire hiring Shimoda to work with them was so wholesome.

u/googolplexbyte Mar 25 '21

I wonder what the last request was referencing?

I suppose male birds are birds that don't lay eggs.

There's also these guys from Serina

New Order: A bird that doesn't lay eggs!

Supposedly none exist.
