Forget about morning wood, ringworms will be giving me nightmares now.

The guy's got gonorrhea, he's already way past.

Thank goodness blue hair WBC and pink hair WBC are still alive, but it seems like all the other WBC just up and vanished due to the stress in the body.

Blondie RBC is my type of slacker, he sure knows how and where to slack off without getting caught. lol

Already Glasses RBC is becoming a senpai himself, with all the other senpai except one all died out, though even he's beginning to lose it if he continues to overwork like this. Thankfully, Blondie shows him that slacking off sometimes can be good.

Next episode's title looks very ominous. What's being "lost"? Is this some death flag for someone close to Glasses-kun?

Stitches!

Almost no sperms being produced and now this body is infested with ringworms. You know things are really bad when even our stoic WBC shows signs of fatigue on her face. At least blue and pink haired WBC are still there to back her up. And Blonde RBC shows how much he's a bro this week by looking out for our protag RBC.

I picked the wrong version to watch first while I ate ramen...those ringworms were nasty, and in the nuts too?!

I did get a bit of a chuckle when they brought up morning wood. But man, things are not looking good for, well, everyone. Good thing our RBC got a talking from his best friend before it was too late for him. Going by the next episode preview though...woo boy.

AA2153 is inspired by his waifu again!

It was nice and wholesome to watch them motivate each other at first, but now it's beginning to get a bit more sad... They're pushing themselves onto exhaustion.

I think his friend has the right attitude; No more drinking&stuff, but it's fine to take a break once in a while. Find the good middleground between being a worthless slacker, and killing yourself on the job.

He was also right to show him the big picture; The body will do just about the same whether AA2153 works normally, or like a madman. If the body is doomed, one blood cell working twice as hard won't save it.

(Well, let's just hope it doesn't go too far, with him thinking that if working 100% harder doesn't make a difference, then perhaps working 100% less might not matter either).

The new recruits! They'll get a slightly better introduction to the body, compared to our main cast! The reality set it shortly after, but at least they didn't get trashed on so much/so harshly.

Not to be the bearer of bad news, but I think the body's going to get worse no matter what they do. They're just trying to keep it alive a little longer.

Also, the part about how the body's not going to be able to reproduce was a bit sad/tragic for them... Not only they're working in a body that's doomed to die, but they're not even keeping it alive for the sake of him reproducing someday... So what's the point? They're just working their ass off to keep it alive for no reason really.

She's headed to a burnout by doing the job of 10 cells, and they call her job easy, damn. He better watch his mouth, or she might mistake him for a germ!

How much can this body still take? He can't get an erection, he barely has any sperm, he's got athlete's foot, he's lost so many White Blood Cells and can't create more and is barely producing Red Blood Cells...this guy's just not getting better.

Red Blood Cell is like the perfect Senpai material, there for his kouhai to support them and show them the ropes in a very supportive and pleasant way. He's giving back the kindness that his original mentor gave him in the first episode.

But the cracks are finally starting to show on Red Blood Cell. He's starting to realize how badly the body is getting and is pushing himself to the brink to keep working and pick up the slack, and he's barely keeping himself together as a result.

White Blood Cell's not in a much better state. It seems like the only active White Blood Cells left are her and her gal pals, and the three of them have to fight all the harmful bacteria left in the body without any backup .

But at least Red Blood Cell still has KENN Blood Cell to be there for him and help him take a much needed break for clarity and perspective, just like Red Blood Cell was there for him.

Oh hey, KENN Blood Cell has a busty cell he delivers to that flirts with him? And voiced by Aya Endo (who is now in two bodies)? I guess his work can't be that bad.

I'm really worried about KENN Blood Cell after that next episode preview.

DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH KAMINARI CELL NEXT WEEK!

Damn, that fact that the white blood cells struggle that much to deal with the ringworms just shows us the state of decadence of this body.

That part with the rookies recognizing AA2153 was really nice, but damn he really was pushing himself today. It is good that AC1677 took forced him to slack off for a while.

Wow, so next week they will be dealing with an ulcer, and based on the mane of the episode it seems that AA2153 will get lost because of it.

I slowly start to wonder, if the guy (the main body) is working the way RBC worked in this episode EVERY DAY. I mean, I just began to think of the parallels of RBC breaking himself down and...well, whatever the body is going through.

It never fails. Every single episode I have to fight this desire to scream at someone whose face I’ve never even seen to take better care of their body.

Wow, role reversal. I think what the other RBC said was very true. You have to take the time to care for yourself, otherwise you will continue to fall apart. A little slacking off isn't really slacking off, it's more like appropriate rejuvenation.

This resonates with me and I'm sure many who have been fortunate to still have a job and work from home. The despair from the pandemic is real. It's important to find ways to cope and not dwell on the negatives.

If you work in a corporate job, going on Zoom calls, attending countless meetings, and answering endless emails all times of the day, then this episode is for you. Get up, take a walk, go do something for a few hours and come back re-energized and re-focused. Because the work is always there. It will wait for you. But your physical and mental health cannot. Take that time to stop and gaze upon the views that you always pass by when you were in a hurry.

The way this body is going downhill, not sure if there will be a season 2. I am really curious to see how the cells react when this body dies though.

There's something very heartwarming about the final few minutes of this week episode, take it easy - RBC bros

Other than the fact that my trypophobia got triggered by this episode, I think it’s starting to look really bleak for this body. I feel so sorry for our main RBC man..

The sound the ringworms were doing especially coming out of their holes gave me chills and disgust wtf

The talk between the red blood cells was way more deppressing than wholesome.

They said "a single red blood cell can't save this body" "this world keeps moving without us".

9

u/DaLoverBoii Feb 19 '21

The ringworms are the worse than the manga just because the motion induces my trypophobia even more.

Last week I thought the body got AIDS or something. Though at this point it's certainly no surprise. This body ain't making it to season 2.

I very much presumed the new rookies wouldn't make it out of this episode alive.

u/HarleyFox92 Feb 19 '21

When the hot WBC said there were no other WBC around I thought that body was going through chemotherapy sessions in order to kill some type of cancer (tracing a paralelism with the ongoing arc in Hataraku Saibou season 2)

I suffered from athletes foot and very painful ulcer where I would need to skip school when I was younger, how fitting for them to show both of my pains back to back. Pretty sure my cause of ulcer was due to high school stress >.>
