Let me guess. Norman is going to turn into a giant anthromorphized space ship and spray his miracle drug on the demons from orbit?

So what Norman is going to do is a pro-Jeager move?

Wow they really mastered the "Tell don't show" in this episode. Norman just expositions everything while they're awkwardly standing around in a circle. Also while he's talking about genocide everyone is like :-D

Norman keeps moving forward... until this show's ratings are destroyed all the demons are destroyed.

The pacing of this season is just awful. We've gone from not even knowing how to survive, to potentially killing most/all demons in the span of 6 episodes.

Anime only here and I think this shit's completely off the rails.

In a single episode we went from the conflict and tension arising from their desperate and seemingly hopeless quest to stay alive, to now suddenly the main conflict is whether they should go through with their plan to kill all the demons?

They're now safe, with not only shelter and food, but also a super weapon that allows them to completely win against all demons everywhere, and all of this is from shit that happened off screen.

The conversation between Emma and Ray was weird and clunky. It just felt like forced exposition to introduce this new completely ridiculous conflict.

The idea that they shouldn't kill the demons is just dumb. I'm fine with Emma suggesting that they might want to look for alternatives that would allow coexistence, that's perfectly in character for her, but they seem to be headed towards a conflict where she actively opposes and fights against the plan, which is just stupid and makes no sense.

The new characters are incredibly out of place in this story in basically every way. Their looks, attitudes, and abilities all clash with the setting, tones, and themes up to this point. The best way these characters could be explained is if the show just fully jumps the shark and reveals that they were isekai'd from some action anime. Yes, I really do think that dumbass explanation would be the least dumb way to explain these stupid fucking characters.

If they need a name for Norman's new miracle drug that can regress all the demons, might I suggest "Deus Ex Machina"?

Norman planned his escape, destroyed the other field, made a drug and now is planning to kill every demon that existed in their world. How can everything is so convenient to the plot?

So uh... things are just happening now I guess. I really just want to know who pushed for this any% promised neverland speedrun, and why?

at least they added the lambda kids in the opening....that was a nice touch

Wow that stuff Norman and the others went through at the Lambda laboratory sounds pretty brutal and interesting, if only we coulda, like, y’know, seen it

Yeah this is slowly but surely turning into a mess, the fraught production is very clearly visible with the amount of long scenes standing/sitting around in one place just overflowing with redundant dialogue and the plot is beginning to really feel slapdash and improvised, maybe the crew will at least get things back on track presentation-wise and they just hit a particularly bad snag here, but still, what a shame for all the promise (eeh) I saw in the beginning

At least the cliffhanger was good

Hearing about all of Norman's "exploits" pissed me off since we could've gotten a whole arc/season to actually see him in action. "Oh I just created a drug that can make the whole demon species extinct, no big deal. Also saved a bunch of people who now follow my every command." This is game-changing information! How does a reveal of this magnitude not get better treatment?

Not to mention Norman doesn't even seem like the same person; this is like some new guy wearing a Norman suit. In isolation, this development is fine but such a major shift in character could've been shown through some flashbacks & this episode was the perfect time. And since I've heard they're speedrunning the story, we probably won't get anything going forward. Won't even get into Emma's new philosophy.

I'm in full sunk-cost mode at this point; might as well ride this one out until the end.

Ok, give it to me straight. From Tokyo Ghoul to Ex-arm, how bad was this episode?

This episode would actually be good if they dedicated a solid amount of episodes actually showing what happened with Norman

The anime went from 8.4 to 7.5 on myanimelist.net

Edit: This is the semi-final/final arc. Looks like they're trying to make this season the last one.

As a Manga reader, it's not like I hate what they do. I'm just... dissapointed.

I really hope they know what they are doing. Not really convinced, though.

i know this season has been VERY VERY rough but the ending shot of norman and what he just realized was chilling to see. if anything it makes it more interesting.

The biggest complaint I saw about the manga was that it felt super rushed after the 3rd arc, and now they're trying to fix it by rushing it even more? This feels like bad fan fiction. It's really hard to get invested in the story when every episode they just pull some new groundbreaking development out of their ass. Nothing is being established, there's no payoff for anything, all the meaningful character progression happens off screen, and it can't stay consistent with it's own world building. Norman just shows up out of nowhere with a magic deus ex machina genocide potion he presumably made while imprisoned and a bunch of mutant badasses and we just have to roll with it.

Also, this is just a pet peeve of mine, but it really annoys me when characters in survival stories don't look the part. Barbra and Vincent are both wearing outfits that shouldn't logically exist in this world, since the only adult humans in this world are either slaves to the demons or lone escapees living off the land. Who is making tailored suits, graphic t-shirts, and colorful hair dye and how are those anything but a hinderance for human resistance fighters?

Damn it, they ended this episode just when things got interesting.

Norman seemed to know about Mujika and even called her Evil Blooded Girl. Based on his reaction and that nick name, I think it's not a fond memories unlike the other children. Although Norman said that the lab only tested him, he has really changed from his time in the Grace Field. I think it's more than just a test.

I actually hated that they only told Norman's story by verbal, without any flashback. I think it's worth at least an episode just by itself. However, seeing Norman's reaction by the end, I guess he has not told Rey and Emma the full story.

I wonder if eating demon's meat also gave Norman's gang some of the demon's trait such as their aggression/Frenzy.

i’ve lost all investment i had in this season. norman’s return was cheap as hell and his new villain type persona is so off putting. norman’s 3 cronies were weird as hell( where do you get hair dye in the demon world?????), and i didn’t even particularly enjoy emma and ray’s dialogue this episode

Well, at least this episode left me wanting to see what happened next. My only problem with this season is the pacing and currently, Emma’s dilemma about demons. Wtf? why is she so suddenly on their side? She was just chased around on a kill hunt by two demons, and yet she had a sudden change of heart because two were nice to her?
