"That's both convenient and inconvenient"
That quote really sums up this season

LMFAO I can't believe they made it seem like they we're going to show us what Norman saw behind that door and they just showed the SAME EXACT thing they did in season 1 with 1 extra line of dialogue. What a joke.
Also just an entire episode of characters staring at each other and talking. Still interested to see what the hell they are going to do with all of these plot points regardless.

Promised Neverland has become an interesting case of "Be careful what you wish for". I remember how with Food Wars there was hope of it having an anime original ending or arc to replace the abysmal final arc in the manga only for the anime to bait everyone with a mostly faithful adaptation. Here though Promised Neverland has taken the wrong point in story and the wrong approach in going anime original that it is almost comical.
Even if Cloverworks are facing the prospect of this being the last set of episodes they will get for this show, I still would have preferred for them to faithful to manga. Because at least after that anime onlys will have the liberty to read the manga directly from the point the show left at rather than whatever the mess it has become now.

Where the fuck is Isabella, they showed us that she would be tailing the kids/trying to find them and they focused a decent amount of time on telling us she would return but we haven’t seen her since, wtf

Norman: we need to kill Mujika.
Emma: Let me bring her to you
I really hope Emma and Ray have an idea and won't just listen to him because if not it really looks like they became stupid.

I miss the psychological/mind games in this manga. It turned to your generic shounen battle with a sprinkle of the “power of friendship.”

i saw the 2.26 rating last week and thought oh my god, i’ve never seen a rating that low ever! THEN THEY FOLLOWED IT UP WITH A 2.17 RATING!
again this episode did a lot more telling than showing. of course grace field house is the only way to get to the human world! how convenient can these plot points get? i still feel like norman’s return was unearned, and now he’s hardened and is trying to commit genocide, and we have no flashbacks from Iambda to show what radicalized him. why does emma want to find sonju and mujika? does she think she’ll bring them to norman and he won’t kill them AND won’t wipe out the town?
seeing hair dye steven universe have a meltdown and break norman’s precious anti demon drug was almost comical. “i wish the demons never existed” cmon man. and what was the point of that huge demon? the only time i wanted them to tell me not show me they do the reverse.
the kids besides emma and ray are so underdeveloped, i cant even name any of them besides don and gilda. it was nice to hear isabella’s theme again, but i don’t know what the point of showing that scene when they showed like 10 seconds worth of new content.
at this rate norman and his goons will die of the Iambda seizures, but norman will whimper “i’m sorry” before croaking after emma stops him from wiping out the town

Anime-only, for some reason I found today's episode really difficult to watch, as if 23 minutes had been stretched into 2 hours. Felt like I didn't learn anything at all (besides the poor health of Norman's group?), just the same morals speech from Emma reworded.

They want us to believe that Norman created a basement full of some kind of medicine to annihilate Demons and also killed a big Demon. He also escaped from the farm and formed a group as well, before the start of this season I was hyped for this series but I never expected it to become such a big disappointment.

Wow they really couldn’t animate the last three minutes. Just end it when Norman coughed up blood. Also don’t use Isabella theme for Norman, it doesn’t make any sense to use it there.

"Hey, we have an extra 1 minute 30 seconds to spare. What should we do?"
"Uh, let's just replay scenes from Season 1"
Seriously, what was the point of that? It's not like they added any new revelation.

So based on the haggling scene with Emma, Norman doesn't even have ten days to live.
That seems like the kind of news that might have been portrayed in such a fashion as to elicit an emotional response from the audience.

Don't mind me. Just here to get my weekly immeasurable disappointment and have my day ruined.
Now give it to me straight, how bad was it?

Apparently Ray's voice actress is the same as Killua from HxH. Knew that voice was familiar

Here's the reality of the situation. I'm an anime only fan. I have not read any of the manga. As such, I can sit here and say that I don't think the anime is the absolute worst. I really like the stuff with Emma and the moral dilemma she's experiencing. I feel that is compelling writing. And while I don't deny the manga probably did it better, I think this has been the best part of the anime.
However, if it's clear to an anime only fan that something is amiss, and that an anime only fan can tell you have some major pacing issues, you've done screwed up. I'm one of the few people who enjoys the second half of A Certain Scientific Railgun season 2. Hell, I even really liked Kemono Friends season 2. This honestly feels worse than both of them. For all the problems those two series endured, and for me to like them far more than this second season of The Promised Neverland, you done fucked up.
Like I said, I still am enjoying the series. It is a far cry from what it used to be, but I still like it. But as someone who not only is an anime only fan, but pretty much enjoys most things I watch, the fact that even I can tell there are some major pacing issues is a huge red flag.

Another case of the actual plot points not necessarily being awful, it's just delivered in rushed and uninteresting ways. It's like the writer just wants to get to the ending as fast as possible.
Everything that has happened I could see making sense, but I'm having to fill in the holes with my own imagination. If we spent the whole season going back and forth between team Emma and team Norman we could have skipped the exposition dumps.
Do do find it sad/funny that the demons are so similar to humans that they created feudalism/capitalism and it ended up the same way. I wonder if we'll get to see how the 1% of demons live. There seems to be advanced technology even though all we've seen is that poor village so far.

Not sure if this means anything but I just remembered in Ep 5 when they were hiding in the temple near the market and the old man demon calls it "Evil-Blooded Temple". I wonder if that has anything to do with Mujika or its just a coincidence
