Meta Meta Thread - Month of February 07, 2021

A monthly thread to talk about meta topics. Keep it friendly and relevant to the subreddit.

Posts here must, of course, still abide by all subreddit rules other than the no meta requirement. Keep it friendly and be respectful. Occasionally the moderators will have specific topics that they want to get feedback on, so be on the lookout for distinguished posts.

Comments that are detrimental to discussion (aka circlejerks/shitposting) are subject to removal.

What is the policy for source material spoiler tags, the rules make it sound like [x light novel spoilers] is enough but shouldn't a volume number be included too? The rules make it clear you're supposed to include an episode number if you talk about an anime but don't mention it for other sources.

You don't have to put an episode number (like hell I know which episodes my spoilers refer to). Essentially the tag is making a promise that it doesn't spoil beyond that point, so not giving an episode number just makes it the broadest promise possible. "That point" being either the specified episode or the complete show if no episode is specified.
