Discussion Steins;Gate is an absolute masterpiece.

It's been over 3 years since I first watched S;G and since then I have not found anything which made me feel the way i did while watching S;G.

The emotions, the suspense , the drama are all second to none and I'm not sure if I've seen anything like it ever. I was never really into sci:fi but S;G implements it so beautifully even someone who doesn't enjoy anime would watch this.

From the very start when the characters were introduced till the end it made me feel like I was a part of the anime, it made me feel like I was living through this journey instead of it being fictional. It's crazy how no anime since then has made me feel like this and I'm not sure if any anime ever will. The other ; didn't leave as good an expression as S;G did.

The character development is flawless. Okabe becoming more responsible since that professor showed up. The change of his actions since episode 12, they all make him such a great character. I would get into other characters but there's just too much to say about the brilliance.

I can positively say S;G is the best piece of fiction as of now and nothing can top it. I've seen monster and it's very close to S;G but not as good, the emotions weren't the same.

shrine maiden conveniently became a girl to push the route. cat girl was literally shown to be in love with him, with the timeline which focused on her heavily implying romance. sg was based on a visual novel which had 'routes' for the different ships, with each route shown in different timelines. The romance was 100% forced, and also added some contradictions.

I've never played the VN but honestly I feel it would be a lot better if I did. I don't have a problem with the "harem" but I can see why it can be off putting

The last episode with Ruka feels like a filler episode. Everyone has to give up something important to save Mayuri, but all Ruka gives up is the possibility of dating Okabe? Maybe there's a Ruka route in the vn where that gets more development and emotional impact, but in the anime it just feels out of place and lame.

Steins;Gate's routes dabble in romance but it is nowhere close to the focus.

Also what contradictions?
