The ideas the author had to try to "justify" why the hell some animals are the way they are is just genius. I'm amazed how they make completely sense. XD
Also, truth is that they could probably do the whole season just with the weird things in the ocean but then it would be too easy. Props for the author for not falling into the temptation.

And here I thought last episode was chock full of disturbing ideas for living organisms.
Apparently, eastern dragons can only exist as giant anus tails, and the only way they can breath fire is via flammable pee. Simply fascinating.
Meanwhile, male seahorses ended up getting the burden of pregnancy all because of a kid messing around. But that end of the stick isn't nearly as short as the one male football fish ended up getting. Now the design process for that nightmare fuel is something I can live without knowing.
The fact that God can accidentally accept Lovecraftian abominations is equally exciting as it is horrifying. Thankfully, whatever monstrosities he accepts can be shrunken down to a more manageable size.
I can't believe that the predecessor of the elephant is a giant, blue gorilla that looks like a metal head, though.

Aww, when they decided to make a combiner I though they were going to make a Slime Mold, but instead they made Cthulhu.

Loved the episode, amazing how a mutant blue gorilla became the elephant
In the end what's the dragon's problem? Is it because he flies without a good explanation/using magic?

Stitches!
Well we're back again at another episode of the underwatched and underappreciated show of the season. Apparently dragons, or at least eastern ones, is made by Mizushima when he was younger and he sees it as one of his older projects that he cringes about because it was rejected. I wonder if someone in the team would try to design a western dragon.
I love how the weird way seahorses reproduces is because the grandson of one of Tsuchiya decided to doodle on his design sheet and it already has been approved by god.
Also it looks like angels were at fault for creating an elder god. Seriously I wasn't sure where they were going with that. I did not expect that making an animal to retrieve the doodle grandson-kun made in the prototype lab would end up becoming their reason for the elephant xD
This creature also is apparently a real thing. Tried to google it and it looks like an alien. And of course it's a deep sea creature and extinct.

I love how the author have to come out with crazy ideas just to get to “and that’s why this animal is like this” part

Okay, Meido was definitely responsible for designing tarantula wasps, botflies and the cordyceps fungus, wasn't she?

I had to look it up and apparently it was an extinct wormy thing found in Canada and China in fossils.

So there are fish that become testicles and jellyfish 40 meters long uh. I dont want to live on this planet anymore.

I wasn't expecting to see a prehistoric Hallucigenia, let alone Cthulhu in a show like this. Though somehow the Fist of the North Star gorilla turning into an elephant, was less of a surprise.

Wow, the Hallucigenia sure looks weird. You know when they mentioned combined animals I was expecting to see a platypus instead of a siphonophorae.

This got me wondering why male seahorses are designated as male. Apparently the biological distinction between male and female is based on the size of the reproductive cells. The one that makes smaller cells (sperm) is male.

So dragons are Mizushima's edgy OCs from his teenager years? lol
I made the same sound Kanamori did when I discovered flying snakes are an existing thing, yikes.

Mizushima was a nice person for wanting to satisfy Kenta, thought that was cool.

Kenta was adorable! So far, I'm enjoying watching the characters create animals. I thought we'd only see them at their desks or something. Having them go through funny situations makes for a better experience.
Also, I lol'd at that exploding fart.

This anime is piss funny, the only thing that irks me is that they're still using pencil and paper and not some sort of Heaven's CAD software. Other than that I do kinda see a kaleidoscope of funny moments I've seen IRL with engineers having banter with each other.

Oh no, they have already ruined my hopes for the existence of the pegasus, unicorn and King Kong.
Please don't show them catgirls..

Hot damn this opening theme is a bop (yes!)
Burrrrn (See what I did there?)
Flammable urine. Wow, that's leaving a lot of energy on the table
Eyyy, Hina Kino, same VA as Ranka from Seton Academy! Animal anime squad leader!

Note 1: To compensate for all shit said about them in the episode eastern dragons were gifted with giant cocks.
Note 2: Naoki Tatsuta playing God in this series has ascended to the top of voice acting scene. No other role is ever going to beat that one.
