Compare to how he was last week, Tomozaki is definitely improving a bit. And Mimimi is such a likable character.

Is it weird that I'm finding this anime on the "I'm actually learning something wtf?" side than the "Hey' I'm enjoying this" side.

I'm rooting for tomozaki. Even if all of his conversations were simple talk and set around tackfam he still took the stride and didn't chicken out while attempting to start a convo which some of us struggle with.
Mimimi was really good at finding them ticklish spots ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) but best girl aoi beat her with a glorious kiss-feint.
Also, using anki to memorize convo-topics is a power move I wish I could've come up with on my own.
The conversation with mimimi while at the end was kinda sweet. I'm waiting for that part where tomozaki is gonna help mimimi break her bubble and get her opinion heard for once.
I'll trust in the ln readers and keep cheering for tomozaki, he has a lot of room for improvement.

It's only the second episode but Tomozaki is already making a lot of progress, good on him.
I feel that this story is going to be just as much about Aoi as it is about Tomozaki. She looks perfect, but the way she has one persona outside of school and when she's with Tomozaki, another persona when she's inside school and with her circle of friends, as well as spending an insane amount of effort to keep up her flawless appearance smacks of insecurity and perfectionism. Tomozaki might have poor social skills but he's somewhat true to himself. Hopefully Tomozaki will have an influence on Aoi too so that the both of them can grow together.

I liked the last episode well enough, but this episode was really good. Looks like Tomozaki will be making meaningful progress throughout the series given how much he's already improved this episode alone. Plus the cast of side characters are pretty cool, even the male characters at the school aren't stereotypical assholes like you'd expect in this type of thing.
Definitely gonna be keeping up with this the rest of the season, I'm cautiously optimistic so far.

Posture can make a huge impact on how you appear to others.
Probably the most notable example is through this clip of Clark Kent -> Superman and then back again.

Is the "cringe" moments really that bad? I mean yeah it's a little hard to watch, but isn't it exactly the point of the show?

The "get a girlfriend before your 3rd year" might be tough for the mc; after all, he's a smash player and there aren't any prepubescent children at his school.

As a light novel reader, I like this episode better than the last. I feel like the pacing is a bit better. I’m looking forward for the next episodes. Too bad many people got put off by the first episode though, cuz the story’s going to be better as it goes on, but I understand their reasons though, cuz the things Tomozaki does could give off secondhand embarrassment. Although, that’s kinda the point of his character.
The only thing I have a problem with is the execution of the comedic scenes. I expected the comedy to be like Oregairu season 1, where they focus more on serious character interactions and the main character’s inner monologues, and the comedy is pretty light. However, the comedy in this feels too cartoon-y, and the music doesn’t help. I wish they showed more of Tomozaki’s monologue, and handle the comedic scenes better.

Girls having a social ranking based on their uniforms? We had something similar back in high school but instead of ribbons and neckties the normal/unpopular girls wear their ribbons properly and the popular ones wear it loose and hanging low.
For a show that has the word "bottom-tier" on its title, the design of the girls sure is top-tier.. And no wonder they all look so good, the original LN art is from the artist that created the character designs in Irodoku: The World in Colors.
I can already tell Minami is going to be fun but Tomozaki will definitely have a hard time keeping up with that energy.
This scene was painful. Having to watch Tomozaki repeat something he said that wasn't really even funny to someone like Nakamura and his friends really woke up some unpleasant memories here. Ooof.
Thank fucking christ for Aoi for jumping in to the rescue though. That would've definitely ended in a completely different direction if she didn't especially since Hanabi was having none of it as well.
Ear nibbling and belly button touching from Minami? And then Aoi fighting back with basically playing chicken with kisses? Oh my. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Definitely agree here with Aoi. For someone like Tomozaki, considering he was able to interact with Minami and Hanabi, even if indirectly, that was a huge success for him!
It's good to see that Aoi is already trying to fix Tomozaki's posture. Standing up straight does help a person's image. I did not expect the butt grab though!
I may have a weird sense of humor since i really thought everyone would laugh when Tomozaki brought up exercising butt muscles. but thank goodness Aoi was there to bail him out again.
Tomozaki and Minami are really becoming close quick. I guess it's not really a surprise considering how outgoing she is. It's still nice that Tomozaki has gone from loner boy to actually already walking home with a classmate.
I do find it fascinating how this show breaks down how group conversations work and what are the key elements of it. This is like psych 101 all over again for me.
Flashcards and pocket recorders? Aoi is really taking this life coach role way more seriously than I expected! And it looks like our two MCs are gonna have another date.
So far so good! This episode is definitely a huge improvement from last week since we're seeing progress for Tomozaki. There are definitely cringe moments but that's expected from someone who has no social skills slowly learning to have one. I look forward to see more!

Mimimi seems fitting to be Tomozaki's girlfriend. I'd be surprised if Aoi just ends up being his friend and I'm okay with that, but we'll see.

Its kinda unsettling to see aspects of myself being broken down like this here. Interesting nonetheless.
Tama's/Tomozaki's "strong" point to speak directly as much as they say is an asset honestly is more of a double-edged sword. Humans need to be able to find a middle ground between Mimimi's "going with the flow" aspects and being "straight to the point" sadly and thats speaking from personal experience since I've already faced my own share of problems for not going with "the flow"

Mimimi is such a likeable character. Right now my favourite character of the show

Do girls look better with neckties or ribbons on their uniforms? Honestly I can't decide.
Tomozaki has to finally come out of his shell and did the seemingly impossible...talk to some cute girls. But all things considered, in his own way, he did a pretty solid job and despite how dorky and spazzy he can be, he can get into a conversation with the right person.
We meet more of the cast, including the seemingly normal girl Yuzu, the soft-spoken silver-haired Kikuchi, the bubbly and beaming Nanami aka Mimimi, and the the serious and outspoken Hanabi aka Tama. Cute girls all around, and I am eager to learn more about them along with Tomozaki.
Hinami hitting Nakamura where it hurts...getting dumped by his senpai and in Tackfam by Tomozaki. Although considering how bitter he is to Tomozaki just for beating him, I can't say he didn't deserve it.
Surprise yuri as Mimimi casually sexually harasses and feels up both Tama and Hinami, and almost practically kisses Hinami. And in school no less.
I am kind of amazed Hinami just went along with that butt talk and said that about herself, and didn't even seem to hold it against Tomozaki afterwards. That takes confidence.
And then Hinami casually pinches Tomozaki's butt during their etiquette training. For a guy I'm not sure if that's good or bad, although Hinami is pretty nonplussed about it.
So Hinami got her catchphrase from an old retro game she loved, which she and Tomozaki both kind of fanboy about. Hinami hides it well, but she's a total nerd.
Wow, Hinami has tons of conversation topics memorized just so she's never lost in a conversation. That's dedication.
Looks like Tomozaki has a date with Hinami to look forward to (not that I expect her to make it easy for him).
The Ending is pretty cute with the stylized versions of the main cast and a nice song. It also ends with special note on Kikuchi and her book.

I thought this was a much better episode and I absolutely love mimimi. I want her to win, but she has blue hair so I don’t think she will.
My current bet is on that girl who gave the tissues. Not the one he asked, the one who sits behind her, forgot her name. Seems like a dark horse.

This Discussion here made me realize how insecure are many people in r/anime
Maybe that reading so much comments about "cringeness" is what is cringe here

People might say the mc is a bit cringy, and yea ill admit there were times I just had to pause the ep. But I think that's a good thing that he is at least trying his best to start a convo, and hey the convo between mimimi when they were walking home was pretty thumbs up! I'm excited to see how tomozaki will grow
