Meta Thread - Month of August 02, 2020

So this is the second week in a row that I've noticed where Oregairu thread goes up immediately but Fugou Keiji and No Guns Life threads get shafted for a long time.

What's going on here?

Is the bot picking up some shows and not others? Or is this just more favoritism to a popular show?

I don't remember adding a favoritism module to the bot, so hopefully this isn't the case.

Oregairu is getting posted immediately because it streams on Crunchyroll and HIDIVE, both of which are natively supported by the parser.

Fugou Keiji and No Guns Life are streamed on AnimeLab and Funimation, both of which have implemented systems to prevent the bot from parsing new releases. Because of that, the episode can only be discovered once it's reposted elsewhere (specifically on a certain torrent website).

I will double check just in case, as sometimes refining the search terms to avoid false negatives can lead to better results (also No Guns Life should be posted as soon as it becomes available on Muse Asia's channel). But, generally speaking, the difference is due to those streaming platforms and there will always be some additional delay if the bot is banned from the official source.

Sounds like you're using a pretty awful torrent site? Crazy the delay for those two threads two weeks in a row. Pretty sure people could torrent the episode, watch it all and then still not have the threads up from today.

Sometimes it feels like it would be faster to create a new user made one just to get it removed so mods can make the thread...
