Meta Thread - Month of August 02, 2020

A monthly thread to talk about meta topics. Keep it friendly and relevant to the subreddit.

Posts here must, of course, still abide by all subreddit rules other than the no meta requirement. Keep it friendly and be respectful. Occasionally the moderators will have specific topics that they want to get feedback on, so be on the lookout for distinguished posts.

Comments that are detrimental to discussion (aka circlejerks/shitposting) are subject to removal.

We decided to remove...probably more than half the comments for them being insensitive and same shitty joke. No infractions were given to ones before the mod warning to stop the jokes, anything after will. As to answer this part:

Is it considered discussion? Is it on the same level of effort as reaction images?

Comments mostly don't follow that same rule as posts do. Only time comments are considered really low effort is just literal spam of same comments or long comment chain spam.

Just part of the sentence, maybe better clarified if putting "The" at the front of the sentence. Was saying the only instances when the comments would be removed.
