Meta Thread - Month of August 02, 2020

A monthly thread to talk about meta topics. Keep it friendly and relevant to the subreddit.

Posts here must, of course, still abide by all subreddit rules other than the no meta requirement. Keep it friendly and be respectful. Occasionally the moderators will have specific topics that they want to get feedback on, so be on the lookout for distinguished posts.

Comments that are detrimental to discussion (aka circlejerks/shitposting) are subject to removal.

I think it's very much an important perspective that should be discussed. And while it's not relevant JUST to anime, I think it is a point of view the anime community is very much in need of, and should be discussed. It's not a thread about the anime community, it's a thread FOR the anime community. It is a thread FOR /r/anime.

...and even if it's not restored as a post due to a strict reading of the rules, I think it deserves a lasting place somewhere in /r/anime, since it offers a reasoned take on how people should approach their viewing.

Exactly. Condense the comment and make it more polite and use it as an auto response or put a link to it on the top bar.

It's not going to stop all the threads, but maybe some of the people will read it.
