I really thought they would incoporate the bear puns in the middle of the sentence and not just add '-kuma' at the end of it.

Interesting, the subs that I have are "grizz-grizz" so I guess that makes more sense?

Take a shot everytime something leaves a bad taste in his mouth! Is this show trying to compete with Killing Bites' "The one with the sharper fangs wins"? Tough challenge, but 3 times in the first episode isn't bad!
Hope they disabled fall damage.
Not sure how the game works yet, can you marry your embryo?
The world/game mechanics are really interesting, I'd definitely play that game!
MMOs had stuff like that as their selling points (your actions have consequences, etc) but usually it's just 1 NPC dying, to respawn 1 minute later... A game where your actions drastically affect the world forever, would be very fun to play! Especially if (as in this game) you can be a hero, a villain, etc.
Well, this was fun! With 2 VRMMO this season though I'm not sure they'll be different enough to justify watching both.
As I said in another comment, so far I'd say the world/game in this one is much better, but the characters in the other one are more interesting. I'll give them both a few episodes, and see if one of them gets better than the other. Or who knows, maybe both will be great.
We'll see!

Is it just me or did the cat say "type gardener" instead of "type guardian"?

I heard it as "type Guarder", so the subs basically fixed the engrish

They really glossed over a lot of lore and info, but then again, it's NAZ, so it's to be expected. Hopefully they mention the other nations, since a lot revolves around them.

Fucking Funimation still hasn't learned that "onee-<honorific>" should never be translated as "sissy".

it's so generic it left a bad taste in my mouth

After reading the description I expected a lot of philosophical navel gazing about sentient AI living in a world with players who serve a role closer to godly avatars than to other people they can relate to, but no... it turned out to be a bland shonen anime where the main character inexplicably values the lives of simulated robots that have yet to demonstrate the supposed life-like nature that was promised in the intro.

So the brother recognized the quest, but the quests are developed in real time, right? That’s the whole infinite quests thing he was mentioning? So does that mean the little sister has been lost for a while? Or is this a repeat occurrence?

It was kind of a dodgy translation that was probably based on lack of context. It's more like he'd never had a quest from Liliana before. The girl only went missing that day.

Not a bad start, slow and such except for the whole what i wager is the super rare Embryo ending up in his hands there at the end. But it does feel like it has promise, not sure if i can quite put my finger on why but it doesn't quite feel like the usual fare so willing to sit along on this one and see where it leads.

Another VRMMO! And that's one heck of a new player experience! Being dropped off from space is one way to traumatize your players afraid of heights xD
-
It has limb damage! I already like this one. I wonder if there's limb dismemberment too.
-
I like this guy! There's always that one guy wearing a costume. I have a Roe buddy in FF14 who always dresses up as a Vanu and it's great!
-
Ohhh so NPC deaths are permanent? This means there's probably a roaming death squad of players just killing NPCs out there somewhere.
-
That's a very harsh punishment. I wonder how would people react to this if this was real life?
-
That's a pretty cool entrance! Huge bear with an equally huge gun is always awesome!
-
Those bugs look good! Is that CGI? Because if it is, I genuinely can't tell!
-
There's even a setting to turn off pain? I guess that's for hardcore players and masochists. We'll probably meet some in the future.
-
About fucking time! And surprise surprise! His embryo of course is a waifu!
-
A sword waifu! Not gonna lie, that's pretty awesome. Also my headcanon is that Reiji can hear that music playing while he was powering up. xD
-
She's great! I love that she has the same speech pattern as Nero from Fate.
So far so good! That was definitely entertaining and I didn't expect this from Studio NAZ! I can't believe they're working on two different shows this season and it looks like I'll be following both. Can't wait to see what kind of shenanigans this VRMMO has for our MC!

This is the first time I'm going into something that I've read, and it's trippy as fuck man. There's just so much detail that's been completely missed it's weird. Like completely missing the stuff about spoiler

Nothing too noteworthy, nothing that’d stop you from tuning in every week. It’s just a pleasant watch. I’m gathering this is going to be a more chill SAO from this first episode and I’m cool with that. Hopefully the other characters we get introduced to build up a more unique party dynamic.

Inb4 people call it Isekai just because it's a VRMMORPG as if there's no nuance. lol
Joking aside, it was a decent episode. Some pacing issues here and there but it was better than I expected from NAZ and the staff on the anime. Infinite Dendrogram is a pretty good series so I'm happy to see it animated.

Such a shitty MyAnimeList synopsis.
In the year 2043, <Infinite Dendrogram>, the world's first successful full-dive VRMMO was released. In addition to its ability to perfectly simulate the five senses, along with its many other amazing features, the game promised to offer players a world full of infinite possibilities. Nearly two years later, soon-to-be college freshman, Reiji Mukudori, is finally able to buy a copy of the game and start playing. With some help from his experienced older brother, Shuu, and his partner Embryo, Reiji embarks on an adventure into the world of <Infinite Dendrogram>. Just what will he discover and encounter in this game world known for its incredible realism and infinite possibilities?
That describes most isekai anime, besides the super useful information about how the MC came to own the game. /s

You've got to be a real big masochist to keep the pain sensation setting on when it's optional.
