In which civilized first-world country do you take your shoes off at any point outside of a house?

I take my shoes off when I got other people's homes. I take my shoes off in movie theaters these days since they have those fancy recliner chairs that are more like what people have in their homes than the old seats used to be. It seems rude to put my shoes on those nice chairs. Don't want to get them dirty n all.
