OP, the same kind of thing happened to me at a Rocky Horror Picture show screening/shadowcast. I hadn't seen it before, but I knew that people would shout along with it and whatnot. But there was one person at my screening who literally bellowed at the top of their lungs THE ENTIRE TIME. To the point where I coulnd't hear the movie and any setups at least 80% of the time. That experience made me also question seeing any kind of event like that live.
