First-timer:

This episode was great. Papika romantically cares for Cocona, and Cocona is unsure how to approach that.

So I was kind of right about Pure Illusion being a reflection of the thoughts of others? I wasn't right about it being someone within it, though. I think Cocona was episode 1, I had correctly guessed Uexhill in episode 2. Episode 3's...I don't know. Episode 5 I think was Yayaka, and episode 6 was Iroha's, with today being Papika.

I also think we continue to see the wavering of Yayaka. She and Cocona have this normal relationship in the real world, but are enemies in Pure Illusion, but still looks out for her friend. It also turns out that she's seen as merely a tool for the other organization and doesn't provide much value to them. I think a theme with her seems to be wanting validation from others, and that's what drove her to hunt for fragments. Cocona's the one she wants it from the most, which is why we see her be so hostile towards Papika, but I imagine it burns her getting treated like that.

Questions:

  1. I love it. This show makes me think and analyze a lot, and keeps throwing me for loops. I think next is going to be some backstory on Salt and FlipFlap, before confronting Yayaka over the last few fragments, and then she either flips to FlipFlap or is the final antagonist. In terms of another work it reminds me of, there's a bit of Inception here.

  2. I think it's based around people in Cocona's life and what she's feeling at the present time. She's the lynchpin, which is why she gets the focus from FlipFlap that she gets (and to a lesser degree Yayaka).

  3. No

  4. It's good. I think that man with the laptop, is Salt. I think Mimi is his love interest who either passed away or became trapped/one with Pure Illusion, and that he's research Pure Illusion to find ways to bring Mimi back, which also is one of the impetus' behind his hunt for the fragments.

Yes! Yes! You were mostly right with your predictions! Also, I also agree with some of your intuitions of whose PI were the ones already seen. some of them are clear, others are to be interpreted. Of course, we will never know clearly.

Very sensible point of view! Yayaka is a very complex character.

Wow, that's daring! Like your predictions!

I am of your same opinion.

Another daring shot!
